Michael - The Great Album Debate

What do you mean? I haven't treated you with any hostility, Korgnex, people have made genuine guesses. I was just kidding with my Alicia/Beyonce comment but you laughed. Everyone jokes with each other in this thread, it's not out of disrespect but out of the friendly relationship we have as fellow fans I guess.

I just don't know who it is in Shout and my guess would be a random female backup singer.

I didn't laugh but I have mistaken your "kidding around" with "cynism". I'm sorry! Now it's all fine.

Warm.

It's just a quiz, thus 2 postings were unnecessary. It shows me that I'm not getting the same respect here like Bumper or Pentum and that's a sign of hostility towards me.

????????????

Oh...I respect everyone on here. Sorry to hear you say this. Your postings in the past had a hostile ring to it, but not lately. So I have no reason at all to be hostile and I'm not.

If you feel I was, then I apologize. Don't know what made you feel that way.

ETA: When I said: 'It gets more and more exciting', I literally translated it from a Dutch saying. Meaning, it gets crazier all the time. Like Aniram said, just kidding...:)

This group of people are some of the most respectful people I've ever seen on the internet. It's rare to see these days, honestly..

^ lol I was gonna guess that too but then I figured maybe she only did the vocals with Butterflies since she helped write a lot of it anyway.

Is it Carmen Lampson the woman who wrote the song?

And the winner is "Deniro UK"! :D
Congratulations!

But "Chamife" was very close, just couldn't remember the name.
Carmen Lampson was a co-writer on "Shout" and she was interviewed about it where she confirmed it. However she mixed up "Cry" with "Shout", probably because "Shout" appeared on the "Cry" single and "(to) cry" has different meanings, one being what is meant by "(to) shout".

[...]
Jay: Is it true you performed vocals with Michael Jackson on "Cry" [Note: they mean "Shout"]?

Carmen: Thank you so much, I'm flattered! I never really thought anyone payed any attention to my work since it was so long ago... working with Rhona at Darkchild was a wonderful learning experience, some of the best years of my life! And yes, I co-wrote and performed vocals on Michael Jackson's 'Cry' [Note: she means "Shout", "Cry" is solely from R. Kelly and she's not part of the choir *lol*] as well.

Jay: THAT'S TERRIFFIC Wow it must've been huge & a 1 in a trillion lifetime chance to work with Michael you are so lucky! [...]
Carmen: LOL! Ok, lemme try to take each question one at a time... working with Michael was truly a blessing, the best thing that ever happened to me... I have been a fan of his since I was 9, so to hear him sing a song that I helped create was more than anyone could have ever dreamed of... when Michael passed, I felt like part of me died with him...

So what, did she co-write the new music to the song? I was always under the impression that it was a cover song. But MJ added to it and everything, didn't he? I'm not that knowledgeable of the history of that song.

We don't know much about how much was written and composed by MJ but it's a song that was presented to him, so he has most probably re-written it. It's NOT a cover but it lents a few elements from the eponymous song by The Isley Brothers ("Throw my hands up and shout" / "You know it makes me wanna shout" / "C'mon now")

Take a look at the song by The Isley Brothers to see it's NOT a cover. ;)

I see! Yeah, it's like he was just really influenced it and borrowed that little bit. It also sounds like the guy is like "Come on now" "Shamone now" a lot like MJ.

Yeah, I would say MJ was the one who thought of the song by The Isley Brothers and the bridge maybe. I think most of the verses were only slightly changed and presented to him that way. But we can only guess until someone gets an interview with the songwriters/composers. :D

Interesting. Thanks! I agree with you. I think Michael's Shout is very different than the Isley Brother's Shout. It's a great song.

unless someone --hmm like me - pushes buttons there's no debate :)

however wait for a day or two, if I can get what I'm trying to get there can be some new things for discussion :)

alternate reality --> http://teammichaeljackson.com/mj-sites-shut-down

this is what happens when people don't care to check basic facts...
This shows also how dangerous it is to claim something as "factual" when it isn't but becomes so in the eyes of those who aren't aware of the full story. They have just declared TPIMaster's article to be "evidence" and that's not the case.

And mjdiehardfan.com was shut down - for the 2nd time (it re-opened with a new admin) - for the scam that "lounisproductions" has been doing for years. But they claim it was shut down to hide "the truth". :D

socalled 'TeamMichaelJackson' (ROFL!) said:
MJ ESTATE BULLYING FANS!!

“Estate files bogus copyright claim against fan to shut him up about the fake Cascio tracks: This man is a hero.” CT. UK

In the full article he says that his snare drums are included. So they might be giving him too much credit but yet portions of his drums/work are there.

Edited to add : this is exactly like the situation with Slash and how unclear credits made people believe that he played on Black or White and years later he said he didn't play that "gay" riff.

David said "I'm not on that song, dude. They sampled, like, my snare and that's it" not his complete work.
The thing with David is that he was a long time MJ fan.

What Slash said it's funny now because he worked with Martha Sanchez after MJ, one of those balad singers that no rock musician want to be involved with.
