I'm not suggesting Michael and Eddie had arguments or big fall out. I don't know. None of us know. What I want to say is that we know close to nothing about Michael's relationship with this family. We just have some videos on Oprah, some pictures and som youtube clips. That's all. Just because we don't know much about what's going on with the Cascios do not mean everything was rosy and bright. Again, we just don't know. I just don't understand the undeniable trust that fans have on this family.

Actually there are youtube clips showing Michael visited Joe just a month or two before his death. Michael attended his parents' 60th wedding anniversary in April or May 2009.

I don't know what to think about Eddie Cascio. If he was so closed to Michael, he should know Michael would never ever approved the release of those demos. Why sold them? Will.i.am worked with Michael on and off in Michael's final years. Will.i.am refused to release the music. His standing is still strong. Will seems to really respect Michael's artistic integrity.

Blu-ray - Did you buy Vision? Why only DVD and no Blu-ray? It's going to be very costly to upgrade Michael's videos to HD.

Tributes - How many greatest hit collections are releases already?

Shirts, hats - Not part of the Sony deal. Bravado is the company that gets the rights.

Video games - Experience is not released by Sony. I don't remember the name of the company.

Remixes - Which is more marketable? Unreleased material or remix of known songs.

Not the same note scheme... In terms of melody, none of the Cascio tracks are identifcal to Jason's songs. He didn't need to write the song he sang. Does Celine Dion write any song she sings?

It's not illegal if you can't prove it ;)

Again, I'm merely playing devils advocate but think of it this way: they have probably hundreds of songs: yes. So why would they bother AT ALL to include songs that cast doubts? Why go to all the trouble to verify their authenticity? Why not just say "you know what, let's just hold on to these for a while, and release 'em when we're at the bottom of the barrel". Are the songs SO GOOD they need to be released? In my opinion, no. Monster is the only cascio track on there that I genuinely like and even then it's not perfect. Breaking news is just an updated Tabloid Junkie/Monster with questionable vocals, and Keep Your Head Up is an average at best ballad (on an album that already has 2 other ballads - 20% of the album). They also claim they wanted his "latest material" but some of these songs aren't even THAT recent. I heard that some of the cascio tracks date back to 2007 or so. What about the songs he was apparently recording for This Is It? This point doesn't really prove that they AREN'T genuine it's just one of those questions I've had since day one:

if there was any doubt, why include them at all?

You don't acknowledge the fact that Kathrine was not present in the studio with Michael for years and years and years. I don't think her word can be taken too seriously on this matter.

Regardless of Katherine's presence in the studio she IS his mother. She saw him grow up. I have no reason to think she's lying on purpose. She could be mistaken, but even my own mother knows my voice when she hears it. She's my mother.

Teddy Riley hasn't worked with Michael since the History sessions in and around the early to mid nineties. How the hell does he know what Michael's voice sounds like now. If people accept that michael's voice has changed over the years (which I personally dont buy since for starters why did it only change in the last five years but sounded virtually identical for the better part of 20 years, and moreover we have tracks from very recently where Michael sounds the exact same he has for the last 20 years - tracks like Hold My Hand and the Thriller 25 material) then how would Riley, who hasn't worked with him in those years of change, known what it would sound like now.

The "vocal change" argument just doens't hold up for me. We've heard examples of his voice from the last 5 years. It sounds pretty much the same. The Cascio tracks DO NOT sound like that voice.

Which you can chock up to 3 reasons:
1) over processing/poor mixing
2) their rough demo state
3) it's not him

Anything beyond that just doesn't hold up to me...

I guess this counts, but just because he went to the anniversary to celebrate that occasion doesn't mean they were close in his final years. I don't think that 'January 2009' photo proves much, either, just saying.

Will.I.Am is also, in my opinion, not a good artist. Akon is miles above him and I don't even like Akon's music all that much. But I know that Will.I.Am releases below average music and most likely whatever they came up with wasn't that great anyway. At least HE probably didn't contribute anything that worthy. I'm glad we haven't heard more of their stuff together. He butchered The Girl is Mine 2008.

I didn't say they're identical but some have said they're extremely similar. Like someone said the note scheme in Don't Walk Away is identical to the one in Breaking News. If that's the case, how would it not be the same song writer?

Many people see Black Eyed Peas as the worst music group in the record business today. So neither he nor Akon are better than one another. The songs Michael was recording for TII, so far is nothing more than myth, we haven't seen them, nor have we heard any of them. We got a title, and some rumor stating Best Of Joy would be performed, but other than that, there's no indication that such recording took place or exists. Not saying it didn't happen, just being realistic.

Teddy Riley hasn't worked with Michael since the HIStory sessions, how would he know what his voice sounds like now? Well that question can also be applied to Tarryl, Cory Rooney, Jennifer Batten, Jermaine, etc. People who hadn't worked with, let alone spoke to Michael, over the last decade, wouldn't know what 'change' would sound like. The argument works both ways.

Look i think EVERYONE has valid arguments, and tbh it's all about personal preference, which basically means it's all opinion and opinion is not fact.

I believe that this thread has reached it's limit as a usefull thread, we keep going around in circles because neither of us can prove our own statements let alone disprove each others, as much as i like debating, there is no point debating something that in reality we know nothing about.

I request that this thread be closed

Well, if they close this thread, the debate will emerge in other threads, so I suggest not to close it till we don't get the tangible proof either way. Those who don't want to go around circles are free to leave this thread. If people don't have anything to say, this thread will be pushed back towards older threads, so why closing it? To my knowledge all old threads are not closed.

You are not alone. I can't share my MJ obsession with anyone in my circle. None of my friends are crazy MJ fans. I come here to escape reality too.

Yep, that too!!! :D

I can only talk about MJ with my best friend, and even then I try to limit myself for fear of overloading him with info! He has been a tremendous help with my tribute show rehearsals, though. If I even bring up MJ in a conversation with ANYONE else, I get a lot of flack for it, and the teasing and abuse begin again.

I love using pitch software to edit voices. Especially making them go chipmunk for pure fun! I'm also testing the pitch of the "Breaking News" a capella.
