Michael Jackson: The Experience - Discussion News And Updates Thread

AHHH!! Can somebody please help me out with this?? The day it came out, I got the Kinect version from Walmart that specifically said that it includes the "Bonus Exclusive track 'Another Part of Me'"...and today, after so many days, I realized that I've never played "Another Part of Me" on the game, so I looked for it through the playlist...and it wasn't there!! Do I have to download it separately or something? WHERE IS IT?? :(

There should have been a piece of paper in the case with a code on it. You have to redeem that code to download it.

3$ for this is indeed ridiculous. Is it just the backgrounds or is there at least some music, too?

Looks like just backgrounds. I did not hear any music. I do have some points to spend but will probably wait and see what other DLC will be released.

Nope, no music whatsoever. All you get is a background for your dashboard and like one or two other pics for separate menus. It's funny because before the big update to Xbox live like two years ago, we used to get themes for free. There was always some promo stuff going on for some movie coming out and you could download a free theme to represent that. Now, you have to pay for them if you want them.

That is the one and only time I will ever pay for such a thing.

It said for me on the PS3 'Refreshing Song List' DLC Coming??

^ man that's gotta mean something.. I have the Wii game and I'm going to get it for my PS3 also, but I'm just waiting on them to release the DLC before I buy it.. When they announce they're including YRMW, Scream and Jam for download, I'm buying the Move version!

^^ Hopefully but starting to lose faith in the Game, been so long now.(especially because we were promised Day 1 DLC for PS3)

One question regarding the Xbox360 version: Can the "Another part of me" song be purchased separately? The standard version is quite cheap now but the Collector's Edition is expensive as hell. I don't want to pay 35 Euro more for a 10 Euro microphone and one song (I don't need the T-shirt and songbook).

Anybody know?

Develop Awards 2011: The finalist for Best Use of an IP

The ninth annual Develop Industry Excellence Awards is just around the corner, with more than 90 studios competing for top honours at the July 20th event in Brighton.
In the run up to the big night, Develop is running a series of profiles of all the nominees in each category.
We continue here with the finalists for Best Use of A Licence or IP. To be eligible, a studio will need to be based in Europe and have built a new game, since July 2010, that is based on an established brand.
The final choices, chosen by Develop’s editorial team, are found below. The ultimate winner will be decided by a 100-person-strong judging panel of industry pros, and announced at the awards show on July 20th.
To watch the event live, email Kathryn.humprey@intentmedia.co.uk to book your seat.

BEST USE OF A LICENCE OR IP

Angry Birds Rio (Rovio Mobile)

Those ever-furious avians flew into the ‘transmedia’ realm this year with the clever tie-in release with 20th Century Fox’s family film Rio. An astute IP crossover if ever there was one.

F1 2010 (Codemasters Birmingham)

Building on their growing experience with the licence, Codemasters delivered a stand-out racing title with F1 2010. The studio’s hardworking ethic came up trumps and delivered an important franchise reboot.

FIFA Superstars (Playfish)

Creating something fresh from the FIFA brand was a bold move for UK studio Playfish, and the exceptional skill with which Superstars was executed has done great things for a great IP.

GoldenEye 007 (Eurocom)

2378_GoldenEye007.jpg

In an era marked more by dull ports of classic games than worthy remakes or IP updates, GoldenEye 007 was a hugely welcome surprise. Making a new great game from an old great game is a task rarely undertaken, and with good reason. Eurocom, however, has done something special.

Jenga (NaturalMotion Games)

2379_Jenga.jpg

A classic IP in every sense of the word, NaturalMotion’s Jenga has reinvigorated a game that many would never have even considered a worthwhile videogame crossover. The very excellent result is proof that inspiration takes many forms.

Michael Jackson: The Experience (Ubisoft Paris)

2380_MJTheExperience.jpg

Ubisoft Paris did something really impressive with Michael Jackson: The Experience, securing the rights to the legacy of one of the biggest pop stars of all time, and creating one of the greatest casual experiences of the year.

Mr Men / Little Miss (Digital Goldfish)

The Use of a Licence or IP award contains interesting variations of all the categories, and Digital Goldfish’s Little Miss is the perfect example of that. An excellent translation of a classic IP as an interactive 2D iOS experience, this is a very worthy addition to the shortlist.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (Criterion)

Criterion has excelled itself with the new direction it took Need for Speed in this year. Harking back to the cops n’ robbers gameplay of previous titles, and channelling the Burnout crash-frenzy experience, the good old car chase has returned.

Well it seems Mj experience is no longer unique as Ubisoft has made the Black eyed peas Experience... Which i have no idea how that will be an experience as i cant picture a famous dance sequence for any of there songs :S

The DLC for "Another Part of Me" is now available in the PS3 store and the Xbox 360 Marketplace.

There are some avatar outfits on the X360 Marketplace as well. I am seriously eyeing the TDCAU outfit but it seems a bit high though.

what a mess... I just bought the Collector's Version for twice the price just because of the song! What does it cost via DLC?
