EXCLUSIVE: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

jacksonsig.jpg

Michael Jackson's contract with AEG for his "This Is It" tour was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court as part of the ongoing probate matter, and RadarOnline.com has obtained a copy of the blockbuster document.

The contract clearly states "Artistco (a company owned by Michael Jackson), hereby represents and warrants that Artist does not possess any known health conditions, injuries or ailments that would reasonably
be expected to interfere with Artist's first class performance at each of the Shows during the term."

Michael personally signed the contract with great flourish.

"Michael Jackson passed a physical that was coordinated by AEG, and he formally signed the contract stating that he had no health problems that would prohibit him from honoring his agreement with AEG," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

Jackson signed the contract on behalf of his company, The Michael Jackson Company LLC and as the artist, Michael Jackson. AEG Live CEO Brandon Phillips also signed the contract.

The pop star died June 25th of cardiac arrest. His personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray is being investigated on possible manslaughter charges but as RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, there are "major problems" with the case delaying it from being turned over to the D.A.

I wonder what "major problems" they mean. Major problems as in their isn't enough evidence in the case or major problems as in they found something they would have never believed they'd find.

But then again, major problems could just be an exaggeration once again done too many times.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

Wow... I bet TMZ are bummed they didn't scoop this!

Please note clause 3....

3. Itinerary of Shows. Artistco hereby pre-approves up to thirty one (31) shows, or such other greater number as agreed by Artitco and Promoter, at the O2 Arena in London, between July 26 and September 30 2009.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

So Tohme agreed he would do 50 without checking with Michael it seems.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

This also debunks all the reports that Michael only agreed to do 10 shows. It clearly says he agreed to do 31. 18 was the minimum for the first leg, so he couldn't have only agreed to do 10. He had to do AT LEAST 18.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

Check this out too...

6. Artist Responsibilities.
6.2 Performance. A first class performance by Artist at each show on each of the Approved Itineraries. Artis shall perform no less than 80 minutes at each show, and the maximum show length (including intermissions and support) for each show shall be 3.5 hours….

So this also debunks rumours that Michael was only going to be performing for 15 minutes!

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

Jermaine is on record as saying MJ agreed to do 31 shows initially. When they were selling out so quickly extra shows were added, to which MJ agreed.

Can we have a 'Breaking News' button added to the title please? This is important.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

this document might actually help clear anyone charged in relation to michael's death or it could complicate. what do you think?

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

i wonder what major problems means too? maybe there isnt enough evidence? if thats the case there might be a lot of disappointed people hoping for a conviction. likewise, maybe major problems means that it might help anyone charged go free?

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

like i have always said Michael wanted to do 50! and the contract clearlly stated he was down for doing 31 shows before any tickets went on sale.

Thanks for posting :)

They knew the demand would be far too high to even attempt 10 shows!
I agree dude

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

The whole 10 shows thing was all a marketing thing. Make the tickets more in demand (than they already would be) and then BAM! Add the agreed dates with Michael and AEG.

I'm but as far as I'm concerned this contract is clear and concise. Theres no way in hell Michael did not read this. Michael knew what he was stepping into.

With regards to the health condition part of the contract, it all seems fine to me.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems"

i agree. alotta people say michael was tricked into doing the shows. i dont think that was the case. ultimately the contracts are usually straightforward and the artist is the one that has to agree to it. i agree michael knew exactly what he was stepping into. and why not do 50 shows? its a fair amount, not unreasonable. many other artists do much more than 50 shows. if anything it would be kinda perfect. 2/3 shows a week, over many months at the same venue with time off between shows to do whatever you want. instead of going to where the fans are, bring the fans to you. kinda ideal.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

Wow...thanks for posting! So he really wanted to do 50 shows! Perfectly clear! I'm glad this has been publicized. I'm so confused because of all the contradictionary stories...

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

So he really wanted to do 50 shows!
no it doesnt actually state that. mj agreed to 31 with others been added as and when aproved by mj. there can still be a debate as to him actually agreeing to 50 unless theres a seperate contract that mj signed saying yes ill do 50

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

how credible is this? where does it state he agreed to do 50 shows?

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

"Without limiting the generality Qf Promoters
right to schedule Shows throughout the Term or Artistco’s obligation to supply a first class performance
of Artist at all such Shows, in no event shall the number of Shows performed by Artist in the first leg of
the Tour be less than eighteen (18) Shows unless otherwise directed by Promoter It shall be
unreasonable for Artistco to with hold its approval of adding Shows to any given leg of the Tour or adding
legs of Shows to the Tour during the Term (so long as the number of Shows in any given leg do not
exceed one per day and 3.5 per seven-day period, on average) if Promoter demonstrates-tO Artlstco that
such additional Shows and/or legs are necessary for Promoter to recoup the Advances in accordance with
the terms of this Agreement."

That's clear to me...

It doesn't say that, it says more can be added over 31 as agreed between Michael's representatives and AEG.
Also, it's interesting that it says shows starting July 26th and opening night was actually 8th then 13th. I think that's what it means anyway?

lol, who would go see a 15 minute concert. That is a lousy rumor.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

He had no known health problems...but he died

I can't accept it :(

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

Yep, what is the July 26th all about?

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

oh man - I can't handle any more reading - just got done reading a massive thread!! lol
Besides that, legal stuff does my head in. lol

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

clear to me.
Interesting.
And the contract seems pretty "normal" to me as far as i can see.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

Mh...whats about his two signs at the end? They look different

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

At least the rumour about MJ not agreeing to do more than ten shows has been cleared up, which is a good thing.

But I was wondering about the different signatures, too.

Yeah, I saw this... I think the concerts from 8th july to 26 july were added later.
Edit: I noticed the different signatures too.

Re: Michael Jackson Signed AEG Contract Stating He Had "No Known Health Problems" + Link to AEG Cont

Wait a minute. if the judge and AEG folks went through all that trouble to ensure that Katherine signed a confidentiality agreement before getting a copy of the contract, then how was it filed publicly with the court?lol

And it didn't say MJ had no health problems, it said it wouldn't reasonably affect the tour.
