Michael Jackson fragrances?

Inspired by plants that grow at Neverland Ranch, “Jackson’s Tribute” for men and “Jackson’s Legend” for women, both eau de parfums, will be formally launched on March 7 in the United States.

Julian Rouas Paris, manufacturer of own-brand and private-label fragrances, formulated the scents in just a fortnight, under a partnership deal signed in California last month with the patriarch of the Jackson family.

“With Joe Jackson, we are 50-50 partners in world sales, television rights and advertising receipts,” said chief executive Franck Rouas, adding that a part of the proceeds will go to charities favoured by Michael Jackson.

As he tells it, Rouas — a one-time French tennis instructor to Hollywood stars — was manning his company’s stall at a trade fair in Las Vegas when two young autograph hunters asked to borrow his pen.

The Jackson family was nearby, they said, so Rouas immediately gave him not only his pen, but also two samples of Versailles, one of his firm’s own brands, with instructions for them to be given to Janet Jackson.

One hour later came an invitation for Rouas to meet the Jackson family in a private salon, the perfumer said. There, the Jacksons expressed interest in his products; Rouas in turn proposed various fragrances.

Following further negotiations, the family settled on a fruity floral blend for women and a more musky version for men, said Joseph Rubino, 63, the master perfumer whose nose perfected both scents.

Developing the scent — which purports to capture the prevailing floral aroma at Neverland — took just two weeks. “We did it very very quickly,” said Rouas. “Usually it takes a year.”

“There’s been lots and lots of luck in this story,” added Rubino, from Grasse, the small town in the hills above the French Riviera that is the heart of the French perfume industry.

In Los Angeles, a spokesman for Michael Jackson’s estate said the perfume venture was “a Joe Jackson deal” in which it was not involved.

Pre-orders and expressions of interest have already come to Rouas from as far afield as Southeast Asia and southern Africa, and a dedicated website is to be launched in the coming days, the perfumer said.

Similar his-and-hers scents — “Mystique de Michael Jackson” and “Legende de Michael Jackson” — were telemarketed in the United States in the early 1990s, featuring collectable bottles with hologram portraits of Michael.

Another line of Michael Jackson signature perfumes, “Magic Beat,” launched in 1986, was aimed at teenaged girls but failed to take off.

Rouas, 38, a native of Nice who has lived on the West Coast of the United States for 15 years, happened upon the perfume business in 1996 when he met industry professionals at a charity soiree in Monaco.

Having sold insurance, real estate and windows, he began trading perfume in the United States while initially remaining a tennis pro to the likes of film star Sharon Stone and Michael Glaser of television’s “Starsky and Hutch.”

Re: Joe Jackson to Launch Michael Jackson Scents

already posted..:)

Guys, Michael has been working on a very special perfume prior to June 2009.
The product was almost ready. And I can tell you the packaging AMAZING!

This product is not the one he was developing.

Hopefully the true perfume created by Michael will be announced soon.

This project is no brainer... Just milking the name for quick cash.

Thanks for this information and keep me posted.

I wonder hoe Joe is gonna avoid the "Cease and Desist" letter from the Estate for again using Michael's image to fill his pockets............

........Inspired by plants that grow on Neverland...............It's just a bunch of ordinary flowers.............cheap air-fresheners do the same job!!!!!!

The knowing that people like Joe live and good people like Michael die early is what makes the World seem depressing..............

........And what's even more depressing is that people actually use their hard-earned money and buy the crap the Jackson family keep putting out!!!!!!!!

Yep, tacky beyond all means.

just out of utter curiosity what or who is porn guy-2? i have the feeling im missing alot there lol.

Sticking with the oddly addictive and comforting Bal à Versailles and Black Orchid for backup. (and my other 5000 bottles of perfumes )

Did they smoke the plants by Neverland to come up with the idea of holding a bottle of perfume next to the Memorial program for promotion purposes? :(

Personally speaking, I will NEVER, EVER support anything that is not sanctioned and/or approved by the MICHAEL JACKSON ESTATE!

No offense, but Joe & Katherine's repeated attempts to earn a few extra dollars using Michael's name is just EMBARRASSING, in my opinion.

The fact that NONE of these "ventures" were taking place while Michael was alive, speaks VOLUMES to me.

Hopefully this fragrance will meet the same fate those belts did!

EXACTLY!

I won't be supporting this, its just another get rich quick scheme by Joe Jackson again. Developed in two weeks? that says alot does'nt it!

Some people should be ashamed of themselves, using Michael at all costs. Theres no hope of selling this without using MJ's name and likeness, so I should think The Estate will be issuing cease and desist letters in due course.

How can someone promote a fragrance by linking it to a book of the person's death. This is so wrong on many levels--and he is smiling as well!!! unbelievable.

To be honest, I'm hardly suprised. This is the same person that promoted his new group two days after his son died.

and a new recording studio or something at a PC for his sons death.... Joe doesn't care about anything but the greenbacks.

I see I'm not the only one who found that to be in unbelievably poor taste.

Eau du Greed,

by Joseph Jackson.
Hahaha, seriously that was funny .

I'd rather stick with Black Orchid or Bal A Versailles. Or EVEN the official MJ fragarances that were brought out during the 'Dangerous' era which sadly did not do to well, I would gladly buy it though.

I totally agree...Joe's feels entitlement to Michael's money...so he never going to stop..

Michael knew what he was doing when he did not leave his family members in charge of his estate..

:agree:

This is so sad. :( *big sigh*

Somebody who works on the project confirmed me that this guy makes it only to make some cash, he doesn't love Mike and don't even know him ! Another vulture !:evil::evil:
