Michael Jackson Auction in 2009 [Official auction trailer on Post #160]

Hey guys, for those who know my MJ artwork you probably recognized my painting called "Peter Pan" on the electric car hood : Michael asked someone to reproduce it on his car ; )

I knew the original painting was in Neverland but I didn't know Michael choose it to customize his car.

You can check out my paintings right here (see photo section / artwork) : www.myspace.com/craftysprite

im gunna miss that one.....

Along with a few other things... Seems Dear Michael was a collector..... Why get rid of the painting of prince though that seems to be something i would keep.

^^BND90

Could you plese post which website you got the auction items pictures from cos a lot of them are not loading for me and I would like to go to the site and see them :)
Thanks!

So sad to see some of this going.. I know it's stuff he doesn't want anymore else he wouldn't be selling it. But things like music awards that he has won from his achievements as an artist. I just think they belong to him. that's all.

Michael has said that he never likes to keep music awards because he likes to create the feeling that he hasn't achieved anything yet, which gives him the drive to keep making albums to the best of his ability

There is some lovely ornaments and pictures going up for auction. Michael had nice taste in things like that. I suppose in the end it was just stuff cluttering up his place and he needed to get rid of it also there is the money side of things as well. It the end of an era but you know what it maybe the start of a new one and a new chapter in Michaels life :)

Is anyone on here planning to bid??

Was just looking at how to register, the only option i can see is by fax. Don't really know if i want to be sending my credit card details by fax!

Another question, how is this auction going to go... is it a 'timer' on each specific item where the highest bidder wins when the time runs out or is it the old fashioned hands raised, hammer comes down method??

Really surprised to see the framed letter from Reagan in there, that's pretty much a historical piece above and beyond an award. And the Sleeping Beauty Castle, that's something I would dream of having myself.

The carved and inlaid swing is amazing, never seen anything like it before. And the Lladro Cinderella piece, incredible, surely a Lladro collector will grab that one up regardless of price.

Michael has an amazing collection, not only from his personal items but memorabilia as well. The auctioneer said he has kept just as much. At this stage Michael ain't sad about it, he has been working on it for months.

Me and my family actually saw that same Cinderella piece in a shop in Vegas. There's only a few which had been made before they destroyed the mold, and it was expensive. My brother would kill for that piece. He actually ended up buying another piece close to the same price. But he really loved the Cinderlla one.

Ladies & Gents...

Chin up...

:angel:Out with the old in with the new...

This is truly depressing to see. It's like an end of an era really. To see prize possessions go like they weren't anything is really sad. I won't go on with it because most will say, oh it's just getting rid of the old and making room for the new...
But for those of us who watch him grow up and saw his career bloom to where it was...it's sad.

It's things too that fans have given him over the years. What happens to this stuff? I know a few of my things were in the pile.

And those who think you can go and sign up and bid on this stuff...know what your doing before you do it. That's all I'll say. All these items are going up for a huge price. Not a buck or two. Even that old Peter Pan book is going to fetch a lot of money.

But what gets me with this auction is why is he giving away "gifts" his own children gave him. That's bugs me. A parent always keeps his child's gifts to cherish. And that painting of Prince...why on earth give that away?

confusing and depressing:(

Which painting of Prince? I don't see anything. And which gifts do you mean? Did I miss something?

A question one could raise is what should he do with it all anyway?
I mean like, where should he put all that stuff when he doesn't even live in Neverland anymore? I reckon most (if not all?) of the stuff is from Neverland?
I'm pretty sure that Mike has saved the stuff he really wants.

It would be pretty fly to buy the gates of Neverland and mount them up outside my piece of shit home, HAHA :D

Is there anyone that know if all the stuff will go under live bidding and if it's possible to bid and have it shipped if you live in Europe?
I really hope true Michael Jackson fans will get most of the stuff so not some rich oil sheik or who ever that don't even care about MJ will buy it all just for entertainment purposes. Pharrell is a MJ fan, he can buy the Rolls Royce, I need some MJ clothing, I would stunt in it everyday :D

shame we all have to pay an extra 28% on anything bought at the auction which costs less than $50,000

For those who are worried about how low some of the prices are on his items, remember that these are starting bids. They will most likely raise once they are auctioned off I bet. And besides, that's the luck of the draw with holding an auction, or even a garage sale. Your items are always lowered in price.
