Do you know where this picture is from? - Grammy Museum...or setting up the auction at Beverly Hills Hilton....?
Because you can see the HIStory shinguards in the background in this picture also....which means they are likely up for auction as well....

*sigh* .....

I'm guessing the other 2 smaller items are gloves of different colors...

NEW INFO

The auction viewing is only being held in Ireland, not going on tour as originally planned

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/ireland/article5781134.ece

Welcome to to Neverland, Co Kildare. The contents of Michael Jackson’s ranch — including personal effects, lavish costumes and private correspondence — are to be displayed in Ireland next month before being sold.
The exhibition takes place on March 6 at a Newbridge showroom and will run for two weeks.
The choice of Ireland as the only European venue for an exhibition was made by Martin Nolan, the co-owner of Julien’s Auctions, the Los Angeles-based company conducting the sale. Originally from Athlone, Nolan has previously sold memorabilia of John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe and U2.
“We originally planned to display his belongings for a week in London and a week in Ireland, but we decided that his fans are committed enough to travel to Ireland, where there is a purpose-built museum that we’ve used before to exhibit pop memorabilia,” Nolan said.

Is anyone planning to go to see this. Im definatly going as its only an hours drive from where my parents live. Im off to check RYANAIR flights

i have been looking at all the pics from the auction and i cant believe how much stuff mj has, i know neverland is big but that place must have been bulging at the seams to get that stuff in. i love it all mind and would love to own a few of those pieces of furniture , it would be so cool. im gutted that he is selling everything off coz i think this means that neverland is gonna be knocked down and a load of real estate built on the land so he needs to get rid of all the stuff he doesnt need. sad but time to move on obviously!

does anyone have any current pictures of neverland with the gates gone and go carts gone and rides etc etc???? i would just like to see what its like now and whether any building are gone just for closure on the subject!

ive just had a browse through the auctions site and i must say its sooo upsetting to see, things like peter pan, and disney memorabilia being sold off it saddens me,some stuff i can understand because there are huge pieces of furniture and millions of arcade machines and big painting but it the things that when you look at them and you say, 'that's the real michael' as the aforementioned disney, peter pan, poster statues and other that upsets me the most. but i respect his decision to decide to do this with his possessions, but with these objects and ones like these that are also in the other catergories, i will never like it, i will and never forgive those god awful people for what they did. i will love him forever! he must move on from neverland, as much as its painful to say. :(

P.s i must buy at least one thing if i can. :D

si MJ really selling NeverLand that's sad cause that's my dream to go to NeverLand

i don't want him to sell it  that's my dream

thats good to see some new pics of it, nice to see even though not a lot is going on. intersting to see that the lakes fountains are on in the pics.

all of us fans around the world should have chipped in a few bucks each to buy it off mj and convert to a museum. would be a massive amount of interest and would be there for all people to see in its glory.

ESSAY ALERT! Please skip if reading long posts ain't your thang. This is my closure post on the subject, I guess so...my apologies. :flowers:

You know, I think as sad as it may be to see some of this stuff up for auction, I imagine he's kept as much of the things that are dearest to him that he wants to keep. And we have to remember he had tons of stuff, some of it are probably duplicates. There was probably stuff in storage as well. If he's clearing out and moving on, it makes sense to get rid of the excess and multiple copies of books and whatnot. As far as the personal items maybe he's keeping other items of a similar nature that mean more? I mean, there's a LOT of candelabras in there. Apparently someone LOOOOVES candelabras. Who knows if there was one he couldn't part with for whatever reason and decided to keep it. And some of the other stuff looks replaceable. We saw him in that Off The Wall store not too long ago (multiple trips). He's probably already started a new stash for his new era. Old furniture, old urns and old statues out...new furniture, new urns and new statues in. lol Fresh items for fresh and new memories, yes? And how many trips to bookstores has he made since leaving Nevy? I'd say he's started a new stock already there as well.

Now, at first I thought it was kinda odd to let go of his awards. I don't remember awards going up for auction unless the person died or their stuff had been seized by some godforsaken agency whose name I dare not even type! Neither is the case here so that gave me pause for a bit. That's kinda rare altho I could be wrong. THEN I realized how many awards Michael has. He has awards on top of awards. In 1984 he had enough to fill both arms at the AMAs and the Grammys alone. SO, to see him part with a couple of them isn't really that dramatic. Nor does he probably see it as a loss. He's got tons left. Now, had we heard of him auctioning off all of them, that would make me think hmmmm...... If you think about it, the awards kinda sweeten the pot for museums and galleries, etc... who like to have celebrity memorabilia on display. To acquire items like that while the artist is still alive is probably a deal for them. Throwing in some awards, imo, seems to be another way of making things more interesting for serious collectors/dealers.

As for the gifts people have given him and the painting of Prince...well, maybe there's another painting or more that he IS keeping. I imagine he has lots. The first born always has lots of paintings and pictures. Ask Blanket and the baby of any family. Firstborns get a baby book, their booties gets bronzed...the whole shebang. By the time baby 3,4, & 5 come along it's like yeah, okay (and no, I am NOT bitter about that LOL). And Michael prolly has more gifts than he could possible use or appreciate in his lifetime. Heck, one of them was used in a desperate attempt to try and convict him. There's probably stuff there he has no attachment to cuz he didn't even know he had it or hasn't seen it since forever. That Michael Jordan basketball is going to make some basketball fan extremely happy...or an MJ fan who is also a Jordan fan. A sports memorabilia place might even have their eye on it. A gift from one legend to another. How rare is that? Lots of that stuff may have never been on display at all becuz he had nowhere to show it. Why keep it buried or stored away unappreciated? I hope Michael Jordan and all the giftgivers understand that tho. :fear:

Anway, I have to say this has got to be one of the top 10 most admirable things I've seen Michael do. That he's not only left the property but getting rid of the contents as well seems pretty big. He spent a lot of time and years collecting a lot of that stuff so to get rid of it had to be a big decision. To completely start your life over is a big deal lots of people never make. Twenty years is a loooong time. That he could turn away from a big part of what was the last 20 years of his life and start fresh is a very grown up thing to do. Much respect....even tho I believe for all the things we see going up for auction, there's probably just as much that he may have kept (altho I've yet to view all the catalogs at the moment).

Lastly, as sad as it is to see some of this stuff go, it's hard to find fault with it besides the reasons that led to it. But everything happens for a reason, even crappy and unfortunate things. An era has ended becuz maybe it was time for it to end...whether any of us, Michael included, were ready for it to end or not. In a way it's kind of exciting to see where things go from here. It's almost like a rebirth period and to see what will happen now or what will materialize for the next 20 years (God willing) is interesting. As a fan it's a bit weird cuz Nevy always seemed to be Michael's settling place (besides the Encino home)...regardless of how he was rarely there and travelled the world. It was like a base...a given...an identity. And now that "given" is officially being done away with. At the same time there's a part of me that is excited to a) see what the next base will turn out to be, if there ever is one and b) see what new identity emerges. Will it be more of the same just in a different place, something slightly different, or something we never could have seen coming? It's a new beginning either way and instead of being sad about it, I'm going to be thankful that he has the option to begin again. The question now is WHAT's he going to do with it? It's a bit bittersweet BUT it should be fun to see what unfolds in the coming years.

Thanks :) that was a great Positive article
Jim Hill seems to be a Disney buff so he is very interested

Some of his property is out of this world!! Love the vintage stuff, the limos and the Disney ornaments. Wonder how many people will bid on these items? Anyone registered to bid?

There's also a lot of buzz amongst video game collectors and enthusiasts about his extensive collection of arcade machines and related merchandise, some of which is ultra rare and/or one-of-a-kind. He has arcade and pinball machines from all eras, starting from the earliest machines of the 1970s/80s through 2003 with Terminator 3, etc.

Inside Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch Arcade (Video)

There is a lot of buzz generating amongst video gaming communities about Michael Jackson's elaborate arcade and gaming console collection--much of which will be up for grabs at the official Neverland Ranch Auction this April. From vintage arcade classics like Frogger and Donkey Kong, to virtual reality simulators (i.e., Sega R-360), to pinball machines, to gaming consoles both new and old, to new-age games like one based on Terminator 3, his collection is a true amazement even to long-time collectors. You can browse through this wealth of gaming accessories by clicking HERE.

The video below provides an ultra rare glimpse into the private arcade at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. The video was filmed on December 17, 2004 and marks the very last time that the mass public was ever granted permission into the property. The event was an annual Christmas party where hundreds of inner-city and underprivileged children and adults spent the day exploring the scenic landmark, riding on attractions, snacking on food and drinks, watching movies, and playing in the luxurious two-story arcade. All of this was provided free-of-charge by Michael Jackson, who greeted the guests briefly before traveling elsewhere.

The high quality and significantly extended version of the above Neverland footage (including a tour around the exterior Neverland premises, a message and appearance from Michael Jackson, and much more) can be downloaded from within the Downloads section of http://mjjr.net/. The footage was briefly posted on MJJSource in 2005, before the site was terminated.
