janet mentioned something in an interview about people trying to get them to use drugs and how Michael would tell her it's wrong. Michael himself said that people would actually slip stuff in his pockets to try to get him to use drugs. But he said he preferes "natural highs"

and yeah, i believe he really isn't a smoker and not at all an abuser in alcohol. and lol u can tell if he's had something to drink because his pics will be all smiley and loopy and giggly. iz jokez. but proves that he doesn't do it for the sake of drinking, just socially.

how old was his daughter when him and Michael were collaborating? was she old enough to know that? surely her dad didnt tell her such a thing, she'dve had to seen it?
 
As far as we know, Michael doesnt smoke......it's too bad for his voice....Janet said that he takes care of his voice. That pic is just for fun, and as ppl have stated, MJ likes to do the "old hollywood" smoking moves.

She "messed up her voice" while smoking heorion (sp) or crack. Whitney still has her voice, but it is not the same. And you would not know what MJ would do regarding smoking. Oh, and you spelled her last name wrong: H-O-U-S-T-O-N.



So that means that he never smoked a cigarette or a joint or a pipe? All we know is that MJ said that he does not smoke. We do not know if he ever tried it. There are plenty of singers and vocalists out there who smoke and their voices sounds great. I do understand that smoking is not good for the vocals, but there are ways to excercise the voice. I mean, you do not even have to be a smoker and have your vocals affected. There are singers, like Lionel Richie and Jordan Sparks, and Fantasia who had to get vocal surgery for their voices and do not smoke.



Excellent point, Marni. A thinker as usual. I really do not understand some folk. He is a grown ass man who seen so many things and probably tried so many things. Just because he does not seem the type of person or whatever, does not mean that it did not happen. The man used to tell people that he did not drink. That was before or maybe during the Thriller eras and everyone believed it. Why? Because he fit what he was being portrayed as. That all ended when his ex-wife, LMP, put him out there and started saying to a magazine that MJ drinks, he cusses and has a certain sense of humor. When are some of you fans gonna start seeing through the b.s.? Yes, that pic, he does look like he is posing, but to assume that he never puff is hard to believe. That does not mean that he makes smoking or drinking a habit. Thank God he didn't, but he is human as well.

Yeah, this is my point. Plenty of smart people smoke and have very successful singing / acting / dancing careers. The point is that he just doesn't smoke. :lol:

You WILL destroy your voice if you smoke consistently. It's not good for your voice, period, and you would have heard it in Michael's voice by now if he was a regular smoker. And Whitney's voice isn't half of what it once was. *****

But it's the same point I was trying to make. I beg to differ that you can always hear it on a singer whether they smoke or not. I personally think Ray Charles sounded almost perfect up until he died. I'm not arguing that it's not good for your voice- I know that. Just differences of opinion is all. :)

Yeah I read that information before. I never said or implied that he was a habitual smoker, I stated that it is possible that he tried smoking. Whether that was weed, cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc. I doubt that Mike is a smoker but you never know. So, what is a "natural high" exactly? Hehehehehe.

Plenty of smart people smoke and have very successful singing / acting / dancing careers. The point is that he just doesn't smoke.

Exactly. I do not see what the issue is, if he ever smoked, regarding MJ and smoking. I am not promoting smoking because it is just bad for you. However, the possibility of MJ ever tried to smoke is high.

I heard him and Paul McCartney used to blow some Weed together for inspiration. Thats what his daughter said....

Nicole, it was already stated on here that smoking to bad for your voice. WE ALL KNOW THAT. However, there are some vocalists who do smoke and their voices still sound good, whether the vocalists smoke habitually or not.

And Whitney's voice isn't half of what it once was. Bee likes to argue with me just because she doesn't like me. So you can't take any points she makes seriously when they're in disagreement with me as more likely then not, it will be based in bitterness rather then reason.

You stated that Whitney's voice was "messed up". I stated that it is not and that it was not as good as it once was. Now, you have decided to come with that conclusion. Why are you pointing me out? So, I can't disgaree with you? There are times that we agree on certain things and you are not pointing me out and assuming that I am "bitter" towards you. Nicole, you need to understand that not everyone has to agree with you. You also need to understand that the things that you state are mostly based on pure ignorance and not facts. And I am dumb? Nicole, you can't even spell a five letter word known as "Angel". You spelled it as "angle" as if it was geometry class. I had to spell it out for you. I called MJ "M-i-c-k-e-y" like Mickey Mouse because Mickey is also a nickname for Michael. If I wanted to call MJ "M-i-k-e-y", I would. However, I chose to call him Mickey. Also, there is no evidence that shows one is "dumb as f---" when they are not good spellers and I have nothing aganist you. It does seems like a good pose, but I seriously doubt that he smokes, he knows better than that. He know knows that those aren't healthy. I think he just poses with a cigarette for fun and I really don't think he wants to smoke one.

I agree.

I know that Paul was arrested back in the day for growing weed in his house or his front lawn. That is what I believe that story of MJ smoking weed with Paul for "inspiration" could be true. I said "could be".

um hella singers smoke and they're fine....

hella singers do drugs and them is fine too....

lil tidbit mj took his kids to teh bodies exh. when it was still at the tropicana and was hella lecturing them on why smoking sux so damn bad.....showed them the nasty smoking lung and the normal lung.

funny enuf, if u smoked, u couldn't smoke on ur breaks at the ranch, u had to go elsewhere....jan and mj make such a big deal about it BUT raymone smoked like a train and jan's bff keisha...his ass always had a ciggy in his hand.

double standards....mj just don't like the smell...and jan is w/ mauldin an du know his ass does some bob cigs every once and awhile

Relax now, Michael do not smoke. It is certainly, otherwise he would not have his beautiful voice, or be able to do the things he do. :)
