Michael Album Leaked - Discussion New Tracks Thread

Something I've noticed on Breaking News.

When the 1st version leaked on MJnet, there was parts where you could hear the quality fade in and out...like it went from cd quality, to something being played on AM radio or a bad tape cassette.

On today's leaked version, the song sounds SOOOOO MUCH BETTER. A few parts sound questionable still.....but MJ is on this song...as well as KYHU and Monster.

Of those three tracks, KYHU is my favorite. Glad they took the Earth Song ad libs out. With headphones on, clearly it sounds and it is Michael Jackson.

there is more Michael on monster than on HT..

I dont like the new Monster. couldn't they add 50's rap without tampering with it

Oh my...........

And we are talking lead vocals, chorus etc? That is more Michael than Hollywood Tonight? They put some kind of autotune thing on the vocals on HT, but apart from that its sooooo obviously MJ.

Hey, Fiddy's rap is actually reall good.

Yeah exactly, it was quite impressive from him. Reminds me of the days that he really showed his skills on songs. Such a damn shame about the song though....why did it have to be this song where he put a good rap on? dammit.

Hold My Hand - 9/10
Hollywood Tonight - 10/10
Keep Your Head Up - 8/10
(I Like) The Way You Love Me - 8/10
Monster 8/10
Best of Joy - 8/10
Breaking News - 7/10
(I Can't Make It) Another Day - 7/10
Behind the Mask - 10/10
Much Too Soon - 10/10

I love Much Too Soon the best. Very honest and sincere.

Hollywood Tonight, Behind The Mask and Another Day are also killer cuts.

Just can't bring myself to accept the Cascio songs. Could be him, I don't know, but they're forever tarnished to me. I don't even think I'll keep them on my iPod.

The album lacks bridges.

I noticed. ("Hollywood tonight", "Best of Joy", "Another Day" have no bridges and shouldn't be that prolonged perhaps)

I am happy with the seven songs nevertheless.

I was expecting to get dissappointed with "the way you love me" but I didn't, I really enjoyed it and whoever remixed it really "modernised" it (plus it has the wonderful spoken intro by MJ- wow!)

Best of joy is very nice but I really believe the vocals are from a younger Michael in spite of the fact that people say that they are new

Behind the mask is a nice treat also. And the girl, who we feared of perhaps ruining the song, helped for a spectacular ending - bravo. I was annoyed by the crowd sounds from Bucharest concert though

For the rest I have already commented previously

For me it's a fantastic treat of 15 minutes of newly heard material (exluding previously leaked HMH, previously released TWYLM, AD which is actually a prolonged version of the leaked snippet and of course the Cascio tracks)

Hollywood Tonight
Best of Joy
Behind the Mask
Much Too Soon
Monster

Others are close...

Ok, so 5. I lied.

hmz not imo. Much too soon is more like fly away. I hate the beats in the songs. Why couldnt they just put some normal instrument in these songs. A normal drummer, a normal guitar not all that computer stuff. If I listen to Off the wall for example i have to dance to it. This doesnt do it for me. Streetwalker is so much better imo.

Well those days are gone i guess.

They overproduced all songs. He's on Hollywood, but heavily, seriously overproduced. They made a mockery of his voice, except on "Much Too Soon" and added a truckload of unnecessary instruments, and they expect some to actually enjoy it. Not even gonna mention the Cascio tracks again, analyse them, 'cause most just catch fire and insult folk. But for those who don't like criticisms of this new piece, this is a discussion forum, and last time I've checked, Jackson didn't give his blessing on this release. I mean, some reviews are actually saying "Best Of Joy"'s vocals are from 2009, when they're from the 90's. They keep bringing into discussion the words "last songs in his life that he recorded, but didn't get to finish them, because he died", and that's a major manipulation factor. Also the Cascio's close relationship with Michael as well, so that people won't doubt about the 'authenticity' of those 3 songs. Somebody mentioned how they're no bridges in the songs. Much Too Soon seems finished, but the rest (from what I've heard) just weren't finished - it's always awkward listening to unfinished things and then make an album out of them.. The fact is, these people can come and say whatever they please now that he's not here. And while, of course, not all lie, they embellish a lot, a whole lot.

However... There are lyrics on this album that are worth paying attention to... and again, one has to wonder, how come songs like "DYKWYCA", "Slave To The Rhythm", etc, aren't on this album?...

High ratings:p What would you give to songs like twymmf, sc, dirty diana, man in the mirror, stranger in moscow etc?

Is this the "final" version of "Michael"?

In the leaked version of "Another Day" at 3:26 there's a "recycled plea" of "We've had enough". ('It's too much for me') Guess it's very "multitaskable".

I'm wondering if this leaked version is the final album, or not.

Yeah, I heard that too! I thought it also resembled the 'it's just too much for me' from the 2 Bad Refugee Camp remix from the BOTDF-album.

Great post. Fully agree.

I totally agree with your post Matty.

As for Much too soon, it is so simple and so beautiful=genius! For me such songs capture the "essence" of Michael, "Speechless" for instance...

Listening to the leak of "Michael" ... is like reading the last page of a novel before getting to the end of the book ... or opening your Christmas/Birthday present before the big day !!

I've pre-orderd mine to be here for Christmas ... and I want that excitement of the surprise element.

So ... NO ... I will not listen to no leaks!!

I cannot wait for Christmas ..................

It's really great to see so many of you are enjoying the album. :)
After all the stress it's nice to see that the album (for most) doesn't dissapoint them the way they thought it would.
It seems there are definitly several songs that stand out for most of you.

I'm still going to try and resist listening to the leak. (I have to keep repeating myself otherwise I'll cave in I'm afraid lol)

Edit: I'm gonna keep my expectations low though. Just in case.

This is a very significant development for Sony and they are likely to be rubbing their hands together. They've essentially found the formula to keep a lot of fans very happy indeed. This will open a lot of doors for them and enable a pretty much limitless supply of future material. I am seriously very concerned.

Right, and that's the problem. Nowadays, people like technology in their music, so youz gotz ta do what'z youz gotzta do.

Not all people. Im sure 90% around here like albums like off the wall, thriller and bad better than invincible and this album.

Where are the funky guitar riffs, bass lines?

I'm really curious to just hearing HT and Monster though. lol.
HECK, I'm curious on listening to all of the songs. I want a link so damn bad but I cannot cave in as well. :mello: Nice to see ppl are enjoying the album though. Positivity for the win.

Is there no chance he's just singing the same lyrics? Not necessarily taken directly from WHE?

I like the album but none the songs compare to Blue Gangster, Slave To The Rhythm or 12:00.

I'm a HUGE friend of Invincible and will listen to that 20 times more than Off the Wall.

Definitely a lack of bridges in 'Michael', that's where you can definitely tell the absence of Maestro himself. Maestro writes killer bridges, Is it Scary- Monster needs a bridge like that. (I guess the the "And they eat your soul" part is sorta a bridge)

I still LOVE the song as such though. I could see some amazing choreography going on with Monster.

Yeah... They actually released the This Is It album, and the song, This Is It, has nothing to do with that, since the vocals are from 1980 or'79, and they made people think it's recent, just 'cause of the omonymous title... And the endless re-releases they kept putting out and everybody was complaining about it, yet still bought them. Sony just can't lose. And are making more money now with him gone.
