Kudos to Usher for the nice comments.

Sir Leng A Lot: Who would win in a dance-off between you and Chris Brown or the other guys who’ve tried to take your crown?
To see artists like Chris Brown, he’s more one of the total artists – the guy who dances and sings, which is a lot like I do and did as a young artist. But I think it’s all great, I have nothing negative to say. Justin I consider to be great, with Ne-Yo, I always found him to be an incredible writer and then there’s new guys like Dream. All of this young, new energy is great for the industry. I think a lot of times people try to spin a negative on it. Like ‘A new person is coming, look out.’ That would be like me telling Michael Jackson to look out because I’m coming back. Are you serious?

RWD: Have you had the call to work with MJ yet?
No, but actually I spoke to Michael yesterday. I ran into his attorney in the lobby of my hotel and he called Michael up, who was asking me about the album. It was good because I had wanted to thank him for giving me a shout out in an interview. He also didn’t know I had a child so I told him and he said ‘Oh wow, congratulations, the universe is open to you now.’ But who knows, maybe you’ll see us working together one day.
This is sooooooooo cool. Very nice read, eternitys_child. Very nice! :flowers:

Glad Usher remembered that MJ did this.

He also didn’t know I had a child so I told him and he said ‘Oh wow, congratulations, the universe is open to you now.
Michael is SO SPIRITUAL. I love it when he speaks from a spiritual angle. It is just SO COOL to me!

Downstairs, the young monk has finished cleaning his fish, and is hacking it to pieces. There are white earphones shoved into his ears. He tells me he is a fan of Michael Jackson. Someone plays “Top of the World” by the Carpenters on a plastic cell phone. There is laughter, and voices chiming in requests for Madonna and Avril Lavigne. One monk sits on a mat with a crumpled newspaper open on the sports page, forehead creased, chin on palm. He says he is rooting for Manchester United, and Robby de Ho.

The pair became pals when they recently hooked up to record a cover of Michael Jackson's Beat It together - and have been firm friends ever since.

Simon Cowell: Stage Fright Rumour Not True

(31-5-2008) This week, the British tabloid The Sun published an article claiming that Michael canceled a performance on 'American Idol' just 24 hours before the show due to stage fright. The story was repeated by media organizations worldwide.

On Friday, 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell appeared on the BBC2 radio show 'Steve Wright In The Afternoon'. Asked about the rumour he said that those rumours are not true:

"Not true, not true. We hear those rumours all the time."

Cowell also stated that they would be happy to have Michael Jackson on the show some time.

MJ and Bubbles sculpture at Jeff Koons exhibition in Chicago

Jeff Koons opens first major US exhibit after 15 years

By SOPHIA TAREEN, Associated Press Writer Fri May 30, 5:58 PM ET

CHICAGO - A gigantic balloon-animal dog painted metallic orange watches over paintings of Popeye, a sculpture of Michael Jackson and portraits of an ex-porn star.

Celebratory, kitschy and sometimes explicit, they're the works of Jeff Koons, considered one of the most influential living contemporary artists. And they're on display in his first major U.S. exhibit in nearly 15 years, opening Saturday at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

[...] read more

The show is a major coup for the Chicago museum.

Many of Koons' works on display are so valuable that they were uninsurable, museum officials said. And Koons is a reputed perfectionist, even canceling a 1996 show at New York's Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum because of last-minute disagreements about how the works should be presented and budget issues.

He oversaw and planned every inch of the Chicago exhibit's layout. Two days before the opening, he walked around the sculptures as installers lifted statues onto pedestals and hung blowup lobsters from the ceiling with red link chains.

Koons himself is depicted in a series entitled "Made in Heaven," which features several graphic sexual images with his ex-wife Ilona Staller, a former porn star known as La Cicciolina who became a member of Italy's Parliament.

"Sexuality and being open about sexuality and how we procreate is very important, and that they (viewers) don't feel guilt or shame about their own bodies," Koons said.

Other highlights of the show include paintings featuring Popeye, the Incredible Hulk and a 1988 porcelain sculpture of the King of Pop and his pet chimpanzee, called "Michael Jackson and Bubbles."

Michael doesn't need anyone to write songs for him. He's probably just looking at what he get's. With all these people, I doubt he'll use even half of them in the end.

Indeed, if you could construct the ideal R&B singer, he'd look very much like Usher — more seasoned then younger singers such as Chris Brown, more versatile than current hit makers like Akon and T-Pain, all the while maintaining an image acceptable to both corporate America and the club scene. You'd have to go all the way back to the original King of Pop to find a comparable artist, no surprise considering how heavily Usher borrows from the "Thriller"-era Michael Jackson.

Artist: Ashanti
Album: The Declaration (The Inc./Universal Motown)
As the title suggests, “The Declaration’’ is in many ways about womanhood and empowerment, which is why Ashanti chose to work with producers and collaborators outside the Inc. family. On the synthy, Darkchild-produced “So Over You,’’ Ashanti croons about getting past a former relationship, while the Jermaine Dupri-mixed “Good Good,’’ featuring elements of Michael Jackson’s “The Girl Is Mine,’’ finds her confidently belting about her abilities to please in bed. Ashanti continues to celebrate her femininity on tracks like the sensual, Robin Thicke-assisted “Things You Make Me Do’’ and the bass-heavy “Girlfriend.’’ “Mother’’ is inspired by Ashanti’s close bond with her own mother, and “Shine’’ is aimed at motivating young women

However, high-polished brass is still being sold, and black-and-brass is coming back strong this spring, especially in clothing through the military theme, kind of Michael Jackson-like.

PLEASE LET THIS BE TRUE!!! I had a feeling that this would happen because Will.i.am produced songs for Chrisstte such as "Imma Be Ok" (I love that song!!) and she is soooooooo talented. I really hope MJ does something with this ignored (for no damn reason) talent. She is rare in an insdustry filled with fake singers and pr stars. Thank for for posting that.

Thank you all for the news. The Usher article was wonderful.I am happy to see that Usher did not forget about the AH interview where MJ sort of gave Usher a shout out after Bill Bush forgot to mention Usher as one of the many people that were influence by Mickey . I also liked how MJ told him about Usher being a father - awwww!! They have a lot to talk about. I really hope they do a song together! It is about time. Just imagine the video. WHOOOOO!! The Sideah article - that article was sweet and nice. It is a shame that other losers get to hang out with MJ but she didn't. MJ better give her a call when he does a tour. She better spend some time with him as well. Good thing you found that find, wannabe. I find that she didn't really dwell on Madonna. I really wish she did. LOL.

What Nas said - he is right. No one expected MJ to say what he said regarding TDCAU. I am glad Mike did what he did. That is why I think people need to expect the unexpected from people. You never know.

MJ is in the news issue of People but it talks a little about the party and shows a small pic of MJ and the designer. All it said that basically no one exspected MJ to be there. That was about it. I did not look at any of the tabloids to see if other pics of MJ or the children were in there.

Please! If there is a God!!!

It is sad, you know, when your signature is beyond insulting and you are huffing and puffing about what I said regarding an Usher and MJ duet. I do not see the point of you quoting my entire post and complain about one thing I said. I said plenty of things on there, but you want to be negative and focus on things that bother you.

And you can keeping praying about God and assuming his existence over something so petty because God is not going to listen to that. I just find your whole quote very distrubing.

Michael Jackson is said to be working with Christian Audigier on a full range of clothes. Blogger Dean Piper has said that Jackson signed the deal with Audigier over the past few weeks.

A source has also been quoted as saying, "Michael was keen to venture into fashion and loves Christian’s bling clothing of the past. Everyone involved is very excited - and the range will be available initially all over LA at high end stores."

MJ SCULPTURE DISPLAYED IN KOONS EXHIBITION

Jeff Koons (53) is considered to be one of the most influential living contemporary artists. On Saturday, he opens his first major exhibition in the USA after 15 years at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. The exhibition will run through September 21, 2008.

The retrospective show will feature about 60 paintings and sculptures spanning Koons' career from 1979 through 2007. One highlight is a 1988 porcelain sculpture of the King of Pop and his pet chimpanzee, called "Michael Jackson and Bubbles."

In an interview to the Associated Press Koons said about this art:
"Objects are metaphors of people. All the works are like children, you really put a lot of thought and care into them.
The core of my work is to have transcendence in life. You have to first be able to accept yourself. Then you can take a journey which leads you to the acceptance of others."

Koons was a pioneer in his field in the 1980s, setting the stage for numerous other young artists. At the same time, he has an intense commercial appeal. Until May 2008, he held the record for the highest price paid at auction for a work by a living artist. His "Hanging Heart" sculpture fetched $23.6 million in November 2007. Many of the works on display in the Chicago exhibition are so valuable that they were uninsurable.

6 Degrees: Sharon Stone to Michael Jackson

Celebrities wading into political debate is never a good idea. Sharon Stone found out as much when she commented on "karma" causing the recent earthquake in China. In retaliation, the country's largest cinema chain banned screenings of all of her films. While Chinese cinema-goers are lamenting the loss of Basic Instinct 2, Michael Jackson has been going to increasingly elaborate lengths to avoid being spotted in public. Attending a mixed martial arts game in a wheelchair, sunglasses and a coat around his face, it seems the King of Pop might need a few lessons in keeping things inconspicuous.

Sharon Stone to... Sienna Miller - Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Sharon will surely have been a bit miffed after hearing Sienna Miller's outburst about the state's second largest city Pittsburgh. While filming in the area, Sienna dubbed it "S***sburgh", adding to an interviewer: "Will you pity me when you're back in your funky New York apartment and I'm still here?" The furore it caused even forced her to apologise to the city's mayor.

Sienna Miller to... Kelly Osbourne - If outrage from Pennsylvanians weren't enough, Sienna has also had to take flack from Kelly Osbourne. Ozzy's daughter launched a scathing attack on Jude Law's ex after growing tired of her complaining about paparazzi intrusion into her life. "Don't be famous if you don't want it," Kelly remarked. "Don't spill your beans to everyone, and don't be famous if you don't want some attention."

Kelly Osbourne to... Beth Ditto - Having amassed a group of celebrity friends including Kate Moss and Kimberley Stewart, the latest number to go into Kelly's phone book is Beth Ditto's. The Gossip singer hobnobbed with Kelly backstage at the Brits and has no doubt been taking tips from her on surviving the frantic celeb lifestyle. Ditto has also managed to form an "odd couple" partnership with a scarecrow-like indie icon.

Beth Ditto to... Jarvis Cocker - The Pulp indie icon teamed up with Ditto for the single 'Temptation' earlier in the year, with all proceeds going to homeless charity Shelter. After debuting the song at the 2007 NME Awards, Jarvis was keen to big up the duet: "It has taken a full twelve months for the world to be ready for this track - I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed performing it."

Jarvis Cocker to... Michael Jackson - Jarvis memorably made a name for himself by invading the stage during Michael Jackson's 1996 Brit Awards set. Cocker explained his spur of the moment protest, saying: "My actions were a form of protest at the way Michael Jackson sees himself as some kind of Christ-like figure with the power of healing." The result sent Pulp's record sales surging and a £30,000 Madame Tussaud's waxwork quickly put on display

actually she did try to dwell a little on Madonna..it was the magazine interviewer that wanted to concentrate solely on Michael..lol

anyway....thanks yall, for the news...

Usher has really grown to be a upstanding figure..the news about his marriage and fatherhood...and some of the commenters defending him are right on par. Usher is really cool.

all these reporters putting MJ in the stratosphere with other all time classic greats. the media does know what's up, though they have been in denial about it a long time.

all these artists wanting to aspire to be around the atmosphere of MJ, whether directly or indirectly....truly pleasing to my ears.
