Madonna`s speech @ Hall of Fame *MJ related*

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

Chaos, behave **grabs ball of poo**

Maybe I just took it the wrong way. Sorry guys.

well no, you are not alone in your opinion of her speech. It is your opinion ... it is all good. Personally, I didn't quite understand anyone's upsettedness to what she said, that is all :)

I get it now, she is Madonna and she didn't show the level of respect that she should've for, The King Of Pop ... Along with apparently insinuating that she took Michael's manager from him ... I get it. Didn't see it that way myself when I watched it, but I get how others are viewing it ;)

I think this should go to Michael Mania

Madonna and Micheal Jackson were big in the 80s but its her that makes the money and tours and does concerts...that why people think she big.

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

Yeah, another thread bashing another artist

I disagree with that. I don't mind saying I don't like Madonna musically are as a person. But I didn't create this tread to "bash" Madonna for the sake of it. It's pretty obvious I created this thread because of the arrogant why she falsely insinuated that Michael's ex manager Freddy DeMann left Michael to work for Madonna.

I'd say it's a case of Madonna bashing Michael, and me the Michael Jackson fan informing other MJ fans of this and Madonna's out of control ego and arrogance.

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

that was the fakest speech I've ever heard! They're even more scripted than MJs!

It was the way she said it and the fact that she 'made' him become her manager. I'm not trying to trash her or anything or what she has achieved I just didn't think it was necessary for her to say that. If MJ did a speech and said the same thing in that way I would have been disappointed in him too.
I got the impression the he was no longer managing MJ as she said that he Managed Mj. I didn't find it offensive at all.:)

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

i didn't view the way she said that as negative or implying anything other than exactly what she stated, she wanted the guy who was managing Michael Jackson, to also manage her.

If anything I viewed it as a prop to Michael. She called him the greatest entertainer ... people, chill on Madonna.
That's how I see it as well.:)

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

is he still managing her?? so once again Madonna has gone back to taking "jabs" at MJ. I thought she stopped that with her kabalaah teachings? Did the audience laugh when she said it?

He hasn't managed her for almost 10 years now. I think DeMann signed out after "Ray Of Light".

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

Havent heard the quote but after reading it there is absolutely nothing negative in the that statement and if anything she is ackowledging that even before SHE started out, MJ was already there and doing it at a level she wanted to be at.

I swear some of you lot deliberately look for a negative in EVERYTHING! Geez!

who caaaaaaaaareess lol

As I said before I apologised and I think I got the wrong end of the stick.

She was joking about how her son (?; did not hear that quite clearly due to bad connection) saying that the most successful artist of the present is Michael Jackson -- not exact quote.

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

Actually, I thought she was paying MJ a complement, cause she was acknowledging that MJ was the best out there and she wanted to be like him.

man i gotta be the one with the biggest radar when it comes to looking for jabs at MJ and quite frankly, she made him even more legitimate, because she stated his status in the industry as fact. if anyone could make him look bad, she could if she wanted..but....somehow, the way she said it, made it resonate more like a fact than just her opinion. i don't see the offence...

people in the audience might anticipate for her to joke about MJ because of her personality...and that's what makes her statement resonate as a prop to MJ all the more... (was that Justin Timberlake standing next to her?)

i saw her kiss MJ, the last time i saw her in the same room with her, during the elizabeth tribute..so..actually..i think she respects him. i think that the fact that she wanted MJ's manager proves that she thought MJ was the best at that time. and for her to mention him now, without shame, proves that she regards him, highly. i could be wrong. but she seems totally unashamed. she obviously thought she was making a excellent business decision. and no one in that audience would disagree. i hardly heard a reaction from them. as someone said..it would be an excellent business decision in anyone's mind. they all know MJ's the best. thinking about it, though.. the high pitch voice attempt to immitate/mock him was unnecessary...and please..those who are calling us out as oversensitive, hypocritically..there is no one here who isn't overly sensitive...push the right buttons and there's no one who won't blow up...especially when it comes to defending other artists.

The way I look at it: Congrats to Madonna for being inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She was inducted based on her career and that is about it. Yes, she was/is a media whore and she had little to no talent. However, I respect her business sense and her determination to become successful. I respect her hustle and the fact that she work on her hustle to get where she is at. I cannot hate on that. I am more a fan of her old school music than her new school stuff, with the exception of Ray of Light and Don't Tell Me. As for the MJ "diss", I do not think she was dissing Mike, I think she was making a point that she wanted a manager that could get her to MJ's status. Hey, she had goals and she worked on it. Other than that, like I said, congrats to her.

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

I believe it was a diss..

agreed. It WAS a diss...the way she spoke out his name in that high tiny voice :/ I think Madonna always wanted do be the real KING of pop.. after all these years she has achieved to look like a dude at least.. ;p (sry Madonna fans I like her Music, but her behavior just sux)

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

She wasn't joking, it seemed a bit spiteful. She really didn't need to say that at all and as I said before it says a lot about her. It was an honour for her to be there, it was nice her thanking all the people that helped her get where she is but there really was no need to start making digs or jibes at another artist and that's regardless of whether it was MJ, Prince, Cyndi Lauper or anyone else for that matter.

it just shows to me inspite of being now a mother of 3.. she somehow has not matured ...in the early part of her career she would bash other artist... and this might come back to bite her in the ass....

also.. i can see why Michael .. called her what he called her...

I don't think she was being disrespectful to MJ. It didn't bother me at all. She just seems like such an obnoxious person in general. I don't really understand her appeal. (I'm sorry if I'm hurting anyone's feelings by saying this.)

Re: Madonna Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame (MJ Related)

I find the posts in this thread really disrespectful. I'm a Madonna fan, and yes, she has talent. Just because you don't appreciate an artist doesn't mean that everybody shares your opinion.

Anyway, who cares what Madonna said? They're musical rivals, just like Prince and Michael are musical rivals, and she was bound to say something like this. Give it a rest, it's not that important.
