Let's talk about this amazing movie! (SPOILERS!)

Re: Things I Noticed (some spoilers)

I questioned this too, a large percentage of the film seemed to come from two days of rehearsal.

Because the earlier rehearsals are just ajusting the music and dance steps and not real performances. Even though the show was far from being finished they chose to show us the most complete form of the performances possible...

2012 is 3 years.

Im pretty sure he meant that we only had 4 years to help save the world with a tour........
How exactly will a tour save the earth? Pyro, transportation, the trash fans leave behind, and all of the electricity needed to power concerts is more pollution, and is not helping anything.

To spread the message.

Thats what he meant. Thats what This is It meant. Did you not catch that bit?

yeah and cuz it sold so well in london, he was gonna do three yr contract w/ them....like he said, im on lock for three yrs

i think the best part was whenhe was on the cherry picker thing. looking around and kenny told him to hold on to the rail....lol hel ooked like a little kid on that thing.

Marvin Gaye had a song over 30 years ago called "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)". The earth has gotten much worse since then. Most likely only fans were going to see Michael, not the people who are really running things, who say people that talk about saving the earth are a bunch of "tree hugging hippies". People can put out messages and slogans all they want, but without action, it falls on deaf ears.

Im just saying what Michael said.....

This Is It was intended to spread the message to help save the world. He was going to take This Is It to cities all over the world over a 4 year period. ( I originally thought it was 3, but he said 4 in the film).

Re: Do yall like the ending?

While watching, I forgot that MJ was really gone. I did like the ending & I am just glad that they didn't show anything after the 24th; Glad they stopped @ Man in the Mirror

Re: Things I Noticed (some spoilers)

HOW has no one mentioned these things!

Black or White Live!!

small part of the Spanish I Just Can't Stop Loving You.
And the Incredible Vocal ending to IJCSLY as well:wub:

And Speechless LIVE! Ending with Michael saying, "I Love You"

Here here, IJCSLY was unreal, i'd go again just to hear that.

TWYMMF intro in TII

Is the intro tune available in any of his soundtracks?
All the versions I have don't have that intro yet it sounds so familiar I thought it would be in an existing album. Any ideas?
thanks

Re: Things I Noticed (some spoilers)

I'm just torn that they didn't show more of Speechless. I love that song, I got tears in my eyes when I saw he sang just that small part.. :(

I know!! it's my favorite song of his so I'm just glad I got even a little bit

Re: Do yall like the ending?

I did find the man in the mirror ending a bit anti-climatic - the freeze frame was nice but I felt there should have been someething a little more solid. that said, i loved ALL the stuff after the credits.

Re: Things I Noticed (some spoilers)

Also, Mind Is The Magic during drill was really cool & appropriate. I never thought of Mind Is The Magic as a military-type song, but it totally is.

Also, how cool was Threatened and his dance moves on that platform?

I totally agree! I love how they put little bits and pieces of other songs together. It reminds me a lot of the Beatles Love project, which I would love to see a similar project for Michael's songs! It would be so cool!

Re: What was your favourite line in the movie? (spoiler Warning)

Fave line was whatever he said during Smooth Criminal when he just stood there after the film bit ended  The whole room laughed at that :D

that was hilarious, he said ' im sizzlin, kenny was like 'what?' the guy next to him says' he said he's sizzlin, :hysterical:

Oh yeah it is my bad! Still scared me though! I sometimes wonder if Michael was a messenger or prophet though.....

Re: What was your favourite line in the movie? (spoiler Warning)

Most of the lines is what I recall. They may not be exactly as I wrote them.

-"If you want more booty, I'll give it more booty. (laughs)" (The musical director after MJ told him to make the music funkier while playing the keyboard)

-It was something close to the end when Michael said something like: "People want to escape. Let us take them to places they've never been before."

-Michael's last lines in the final shot (after the credits) while rehearsing Human Nature: "The music stops and I'll fix my shirt, my belt, my jacket, check out the crowd and bang the music continues (at his signal)".

-And the most awesome line IMO from Michael: "I'll throw the jacket to the floor and it burns. Turn down the lights and let it burn (with attitude). . . ."[/QUOTE

'let it burn' too funny,(swirls his finger and walks off) too funny:hysterical:

Re: What was your favourite line in the movie? (spoiler Warning)

*weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

*It,s your time to shine

*This planet has fever. We need to do something. it,s always. they will take care of it. But who are they? It,s US! We only got little time left.

* it,s like someone,s putting a fist in my ear *lmao*

Re: What was your favourite line in the movie? (spoiler Warning)

I loved when he was on the cherry picker and spots someone below and waves and says 'hi'.

Also ' I know you mean well... but its like someones got their fist up my ear' or words to that effect haha.

Re: What was your favourite line in the movie? (spoiler Warning)

Love all the things you have mentioned,

But he was going on so much about the sounding like a fist in his ear like it was really bothering him, When kenny was like "Is there anything else we can do to make it better for you".. he just stood there and went "No" Just loved how he stood and thought about it before before saying it after all the complaining.

Oh Michael.. You are too cute for words.

Re: Do yall like the ending?

haha me and my friends said the same
"man, i really cant believe hes gone. he cant be gone..."

technically not a tour: it was a residency.

Re: What was your favourite line in the movie? (spoiler Warning)

My fave line was when he's explaining exactly how he wants the music for TWYMMF and at one point the music director hits the wrong key and Michael looks like a mad scientist, starts pacing and flailing his arms saying "NO, no!! You gotta let it SIMMER, you didnt let it SIMMER!! You gotta give it a moment, BATHE in the moonlight!' :hysterical:

It was priceless and poetic, but everyone knew exactly what he meant..

I also like when he says 'that's why we rehearse' when ever somethings not quite right...

Oh and who could forget the part in Smooth Criminal where Kenny asks Michael how he will know when to start if he can't see the screen and Michael says 'I have to FEEL that'. :clapping:

Oh and how can I forget when Michael is complaining about the ear piece and says 'It's like somebody's shoving their fist down your ear!!' :hysterics:

Oh and at the end of an INCREDIBLE Billie Jean performance, complete with brand new gyrating crotch grab move ;D everybody is going crazy and Mike just turns around to the band and causally says 'At least we got a feel of it' :hysterical:

He's funny when he's not trying to be, the man is just WOW wow WOW wow Wow :swoon:

technically not a tour: it was a residency.
The other poster said Michael was going on a 4 year tour to spread the message (I didn't get from Mike's speech that a 4 year tour was going to take place), so I figured it was separate from the O2.

Re: TWYMMF intro in TII

Unfortunately, it's not on any studio recordings, it's just familiar to you because he's used it at the 1988 Grammy Awards, and the MSG performances, and the harmonies are very like Streetwalker, and they were also used for the intro to Smooth Criminal during his solo tours.

IJCSLY- Ending

That part at the end was too unreal. We all know Michael's vocal peak was in the 80s so nothing could have prepared me for what he did with his voice there. Seth Riggs was right, Michael does hold back vocally

Re: IJCSLY- Ending

This performance was probably my favourite of the whole movie. And I love watching his mannerisms and expressions, he is so theatrical and puts so much thought into each and every move.

His vocal delivery on this was one of his all time greatest vocal performances.

Re: IJCSLY- Ending

The IJCSLY performance was the one that made me cry.... I loved it!!!

Re: IJCSLY- Ending

It was great. What he did with his hands at the same time as he said a word was sooo fantastisc.
