La Toya Jackson on celebrity big brother (UK) 2009

La Toya is the best thing that has ever happened to BB. Glad we have youtube...although I'd rater watch the show on an extra large tv screen.
 
I better start watching. I like celebrity BB not the regular one.
 
She does have her own room witch is her privite room and yes there is a cam in her room. Cams in the shower room no there isnt one b/c of a personal reason.

Punters lump on La Toya jackson to win Celebrity Big Brother

Just a day after making her favourite to walk out of the Celebrity Big Brother house, bookies have reported a monster gamble on La Toya Jackson to win the whole series.

This follows her performance in Monday's in-house concert when she looked like Michael Jackson, danced like Michael Jackson and sounded like Jesse Jackson.

La Toya, with her inability to mix with the other housemates, should have taken a moonwalk in the betting but they clearly believe Monday's performance showed her true colours, which once were black but are now approaching white.

She was 33s to win but is now down to a Jackson 5s in a market slap-headed by Verne Troyer at 13-8. That's plenty short enough and so are the odds.

It's still just 1-2 for a celebrity to walk out. Ulrika is the likeliest candidate - she's already walked out on three husbands.

I have a sneaking fancy for Tommy Sheridan who, as a Scottish politician, should have little going for him, especially votes, but who at 33-1 could give comrades a good run for their money.

Well there is more of a point to Celebrity Big Brother. A number of once famous or not so famous people wanting to get a higher media profile and more work with a talent for something. As opposed to the talentless freaks and waste of space in the regular Big Brother, who want to be famous for being "nice" or "arguing" all the time.
 
Yeah, I agree. It's worth a look when someone's in it that you find interesting. I first kept track of Celeb B&B via You Tube b/c of Jermaine & Leo Sayer. That's the only time I've bothered.

did u hear guys, Lucy is the biggest Michael Jackson fan according to her friend Michelle on Big brother little bro. and is woundering why Lucy hasnt questioned LaToya yet., but aparly she prob will soon.

I think Uhrika (sp?) will be the one to be evicted but I now have a vested interest in it. Ha ha.

CBB has been a good place to educate the public about the Jacksons and that includes Michael. I think there are a number of MJ/Jackson fans on DS to help it along. Overall La Toya is doing well just because of her manners and personality and needs no help but when someone busts into a positive thread with any false info there is always a fan there to set people straight.

I was watching some of the youtube video from day four and even Tina is reverential about La Toya. Never thought I would see a reverential Tina.

I was watching that, sounds like she is a massive fan of michael, according to her friend she has even named one of her cats something related to him. and would take a mj album with her if stranded on a desert island. Dont know how she has managed to keep it quiet with latoya in there.
 
ok, I'm watching on youtube and I just finished episode one! This is a good show! lol. I'm so far behind, lol......
 
I am loving the show and LaToya and Verne are by far my favorites. Verne is just adorable and seems like a very sweet guy. I feel bad for him most the time when watching though, because everything seems too big for him and he seems to get tired a lot. Great personality he has and kudos to him for being on CBB!

I have to stop watching so I can go to Bible study, lol!

I have 2 questions for those that get the show on tv:
1- is the show shown in real time? Like has the whole thing already been taped, and they are showing it now, or do they show it as it is actually happening (not live specifically, but around the same time)??
2- How often does the show air? once a week, or what?

There is a 1 hour show of the previous 24 hours every night at 9pm. This is edited to show the main high lights and is narrated.. "Day 3 in the Big Brother House, 3pm, LaToya is in the kitchen talking to Tina"

There is a live eviction show on Friday's. This is usually in 2 parts, the first the usual 24 hours catch up, then the eviction and the evicted person is interviewed live by Davina Mccall.

Depending on Big Brother, there may also be a second live show. Last night there were 2 shows, 1 the usual 24 hours catchup, and then a second live show where the secret task was revealed and nominations were announced.

The main shows are on normal tv, Channel 4

There are also 2 fanzine programmes on digital tv, E4

1. Big Brothers Little Brother
This is a 30 minute behind the scenes programme, which is on every day at 6pm. The friends and family of the housemates come on and talk about the housemates, they do a mini news section, sometimes go live to the house, preview future tasks and have celeb guests on to talk about whats happening on the main show. Theyalso have a studio audience and run interactive online and phone competions

2.Big Brothers Big Mouth
This is a late night fast paced debate show about Big Brother. They also have a studio audience and celeb guests on. This is also on every night.

Big Brother is also shown almost live nearly 24 hours a day on digital tv channel E4. Its not edited, so if you want you can stay up all night watching the housemates sleep!! There is time delay and depending on the conversations, Big Brother plays bird noises or plane noises, incase of swearing or the housemates talking about something confidential etc.

Anyone in the UK or Ireland can watch all the Big Brother programmes , including Big Brothers Little Brother (BBLB) and Big Brothers Big Mouth (BBBM) free online for 30 days after they are shown on tv at http://www.channel4.com/video/brandless-catchup.jsp?vodBrand=celebrity-big-brother-2009

and just to be completely clear on things, "big brother" just refers to the group of people behind the scenes that are creating the show right. i dunno just sometimes when people talk about this show and on the show too they make it sound like big brother is a specific person

Yes BIG BROTHER is collectively the behind the scenes people, the producers etc.

The term "BIG BROTHER" originates from a character in George Orwell's book 1984.

Big Brother is a fictional character in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, the enigmatic dictator of Oceania, a totalitarian state taken to its utmost logical consequence - where the ruling elite ('the Party') wield total power for its own sake over the inhabitants.

haha, yeah i've read 1984 and definitely know the reference and now i'm wondering why i even asked that question because it sounds a little stupid lol
but i don't know, just the way some people talk about it off the show just in regular conversation like "big brother wants this.." or "big brother does this.." it's like there really is one guy back there sitting in a big leather chair just thinking up schemes and plans to turn everyone against each other for his amusement instead of just saying "they want this" or "they do that to the housemates". and since i've never watched the show i just wanted to make sure that on the show they didn't turn it into the literal translation of big brother for tv effect or something like that.
 
Lol people are acting like she has the "private" room because she is who she is. She got that room because she got there first and put her bag on that bed.

I hope Coolio wins tbh. Even though Verne will :)

Why do you think Verne will? I know the bookies have him to win but I think the odds have been shifting. It also seems odd that he would be favored when the top three by double in the DS polling are Terry, La Toya, and Coolio, in that order. Verne isn't even in the running. There is actually a Mirror article that talks about the bookies shifting from seeing La Toya as walking to seeing her as winning (or at least closing the odds).
 
yeah i hope Latoya does win! She deserves it! I felt sooo sorry for her when she was saying how abusive her ex husband was especially when he MADE her to marry him, no one should be treated like that!
 
LaToya HAS to win! She just seems so sweet and down to earth and very caring. I would love to have been talking to her about aliens and life on another planet, like when she was talking to Tommy! :lol: She is beautiful too. So striking.
