Jermaine & Randy attend the 5th annual Children Uniting Nations

The jackson brothers are still popular around the world, and when they release there music and tour then you will see just how popular and liked they are.
In my opinion, the brothers (IF they ever perform together again) will have the same success that Tito is presently having, i.e. "show dates here and there, in small venues."

If the brothers had the potential to be a HUGE act, somebody (producer, promoter, or whatever) would have snatched them up years ago.

A producer, promoter, or whatever would have told the remaining brothers that they still had an opportunity to be HUGE and that they should just get out there, WITHOUT Michael.

But sadly, that never happened, otherwise the remaining brothers would not have WASTED so many years waiting for Michael to join them again.

agree time to face reality

YEP! And sometimes reality can be harsh.

I was reading on "another" MJ fansite, wherein somebody tweeted Jermaine a question as to Randy's comment that the brothers would be touring again and Jermaine's response was: NOT THIS YEAR!

So for those interested, the wait continues.

in order for them to be sucessful if they ever toured, the siblings all have to be on the same page, from their reality show marlon didn't seem really committed in touring or recording an album, and jackie and jermaine had differences over the production of the new album that they were working all, they all need to sit down and agree on what kind of production they want their concert(s) to have , and if their a new album what kind of sound that gonna to fit them but at the same time attract the music buying audiences

They have big producers with them now, anyone would love to work with them but it was them unwilling to work without michael. I feel they wasted years trying to get michael aboard too. No one (except jermaine lol) expects them to sell out Huge arenas and have a michael production, we have been spoiled by michael's huge success that anything less is seemed as pitty or unsuccessful. tito has been doing his own thing for years and is happy, michael even went to see tito perform. Now that michael's gone the spotlight is on his brothers and people are wondering how they can go on without him. But if the bothers have music in their herats then let them continue to make it, some fans just want to see them fail for the hell of it and their own selfish desires.

Tito jackson is singing blues and that market is not as popular as pop and R&B the brothers sing pop and R&B (jackson5/the jackson) thats the difference you will see. the brothers have no problem getting producers or promoter to work with them they already been working with the brothers it's up to the brothers now when they are ready and jermaine said next year cause jermaine is doiing his solo thing this year. and if tito choice was to do pop and R&b as a solo artist his audience woul be a lot bigger.

Now that michael's gone the spotlight is on his brothers
I really dont think thats the case

whether you think that is the case or not doesn't matter because it's true that there is much more interest in the brothers since michael's passing.

It's not like the brothers are talentless bums. They are very talented. Of course Michael was EXCEPTIONALLY talented. He had the ENTIRE package. But the brothers have their talent also. Jackie as well as Randy either co-written or even co-produced some of their best hits as the Jacksons. Jermaine, next to Michael, had the best singing voice of the brothers and had a good solo career going during the early to mid-eighties. He sung a couple of duets with Whitney Houston when she was early in her career. The way Marlon dances makes it easy to forget the fact that he had the hardest time with dance steps when growing up. And I for one don't understand why Randy didn't continue with his music. His ability as a musician was ridiculous. He was very multi-talented as a musician. If he didn't want to be in the spotlight, he should have become a songwriter or producer. And of course Tito is doing his thing--which he has done for a few years BEFORE Michael died.

So it's not like the brothers don't have the talent. But do they have the drive? Michael had the talent AND the drive. Janet had that same drive.

I have to agree with most of what you stated. Michael was the "star", but the others were/are not chopped meat, per se. It's the direction that the brothers have taken over the last few years, specifically Jermaine, that probably will never go anywhere in r/t their expectations. I have to give credit to Tito for just doing his own thing because he seems do it for his own interest/enjoyment. jmo

Jermaine Jackson: Internet Is Helping Children ‘Communicate and Adapt to Different Cultures’

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

By Nicholas Ballasy, Video Reporter

(CNSNews.com) - Jermaine Jackson, former member of the “Jackson 5” and the late singer Michael Jackson’s brother, told CNSNews.com that the Internet is helping children “communicate and adapt to different cultures,” adding that the “world doesn’t start or end here in the U.S.”

His comments were made at the kick-off event for the Children Uniting Nations’ annual conference in Washington, D.C., a non-profit organization that works with at-risk and foster youth.

Part of the group’s mission is to “create loving, tolerant and capable world citizens.”

At the event, CNSNews.com asked Jermaine and Randy Jackson, “What does the term ‘world citizens’ mean to you and how can ‘world citizens’ be created among today’s youth?”

“Just bringing them up so they’ll be able to communicate and adapt to different cultures, not just in the U.S. but other parts of the world. The world doesn’t start or begin here in the U.S. – it’s much more worldly. They need to be a world. Now that we have the Internet, it’s bringing things closer,” Jermaine Jackson said.

Randy Jackson, also a former member of the “Jackson 5” and also Michael Jackson’s brother, said today’s youth need more “positive role models.”

“Well, first of all, I think, role models. It’s very important to today’s youth, and when you talk about positive role models – and that’s what’s really missing. Children need role models, and they need fathers, and they need families,” Randy Jackson said.

“You know, 50 percent of the mothers in America are single – single mothers – and we need just better role models, and I think that’s important,” he said.

CNSNews.com also asked Jermaine Jackson if violent music lyrics, specifically rap lyrics, could influence children in a negative way.

“Yes, children are listening, but at the same time they’re singing about their plight and what they’ve been through, and it’s not always good,” he said. “But at the same time, there’s been a lot of positive rap as well.

“We’re not going to knock rap because rap is giving these, these rappers a voice and also giving them a means to have a better life – express themselves,” Jackson added. “So, we want positive messages, of course.”

Jermaine Jackson also said that the Jacksons’ music relates to Children Uniting Nations’ mission.

“Our music has always been the message to inspire and enlighten young people, children around the world,” he said. “That’s been the message in the family’s existence since day one. So this is nothing new to us. We are here, because we want to see children have a better chance.

“Children today could be the leaders of tomorrow if we instill the right morals and principles in them and give them guidance,” Jermaine Jackson added. “That’s what they need today because the politicians today are not doing a good job. We need the children to come up strong and to really, really, really give them a chance to make changes.”

When asked what politicians and specifically President Barack Obama need to do for children, Randy Jackson said he is not going to say whose “fault it is” that enough has not been done for children in need.

“I just think that it’s important to bring out that maybe there’s been a little bit of a gap between government and social consciousness when it comes to children and kids,” he said, “and I’m not going to say whose fault it is. It’s all of our faults.

“I think we, as citizens of this world, we have to do our part to help people in need,” said Randy Jackson. “We are a family. We understand the importance of family. So, we’re here to bring out that we are going to do our part in supporting families all over the world through our music.”

I am speechless. He has no relationship with his own kids. Wow...
