Jermaine & Randy attend the 5th annual Children Uniting Nations

u know ur not wrong ur totally right

I agree with that.. I think they were all trying to get MJ on board for that family reunion show stuff with Leonard Rowe since 2007 but MJ wasn't having it. Now that he's gone I guess they will now try to do it piggybacking on the love and nostalgia for all things MJ. I don't like it one bit because it gives the perception of the family capitalizing off of MJ's killing.

To be honest, I don't see folks running out to their nearest concert ticket office in order to buy tickets to see the brothers, without Michael.

The brothers may be able to do shows along the lines of what Tito is doing now. Tito has little showcases here and there, no fireworks, no huge production. And that works for him.

But I'm sure that is not want Jermaine wants. In my opinion, Jermaine wants the huge "This Is It" type production, with all of the pomp and circumstances that comes with that type of show. And that's why the brothers waited for Michael to join them for so many years. They ALL knew that nobody would back them to that level, unless Michael was involved.

No offense, but I just don't see anybody willing to back the remaining brothers to that extent. I realize that Jermaine wants it badly, but he first needs to face the fact that this is not back in the day, when the Jackson 5 were a big deal, this is 2010 and things are way, WAY different now (and so are the brothers - LOL!)

yup ,kudos to tito ,he really loves his music and didn't wait for mj.

i agree with u.

it's nice they attended the event, but where are the children? when Mike did charities u had to dig them up to find out about them, cus he was not fond of photo ops, and if u did see him, he was in the trenches with his sleeves rolled up, with the children all around him. kids who clearly looked like they had diseases. he was kissing them. and giving them gifts. and i didn't even see their parents around. and that's what it's all about. i just love and miss MJ so much. i don't mean to keep making comparisons but they clearly stand out. but if it is getting the other brothers an example that they are trying to follow, then good. but it's interesting how the actor, Aaron said 'u gotta take care of home, first'. don't know if he meant that he wasn't interested in really participating in this event. and..as for the brothers giving part of the proceeds of their..upcoming tour, to children...it can't help but bring up how MJ gave ALL the proceeds from his tours to children. i keep thinking how forbes magazine loved to say MJ was in debt, and how people love to say that musicians can't really make money unless they tour, cus they can't do it from album sales. yet, MJ's kids never were and never are wanting for anything.

God bless MJ.

now the other brothers keep talking about what 'their music does to bring children together'. it's much less appealing than watching Michael not talk, and see the music do the wonders, and see MJ in the hospitals, if you could dig up the footage. these are not only examples that the other brothers need to follow..but the world needs to follow.

Personally, I will pay to see a midget wrestling match before I see Randy Jackson do anything.

If they want to tour and whatever good for them but there is something very phony about it. Tito to his credit had been touring long before Michael died so the fact that he tours still good for him. But when was the last time Jermaine did a tour and when was the last time Randy did any touring? It would appear that the brothers are touring just because Michael died like Michael dying gave them a reason to tour and if they tour and do a bunch of his songs then it would be more then clear why they toured. I could be wrong and I hope I am

I think they wanted to get michael aboard but he was reluctant. They are all talented but Michael is ina league of his own and he was the leader/heart/star of the group. I think they should have tried to persue their own thing years ago instead of waiting for michael to join them, michael dedicated over 20 years to them so it's understandabe that he wanted to do his own thing. I think michael's dying has made them realize that life is short and michael will never again join them so there is no reason to wait anymore. There is also more attention on anyone related to michael now so they understand the public is wondering how they can go on without michael and they may feel like they have something to prove. Without michael i'm not really anxious to see them but i like tito's band so if they come near my way i'd see them if the price is right.

I agree, remember jermaine is "the dreamer" lol. He has himself on a pedestal. The jackson 5 are a respected group but without michael it's like they're just 4 brothers. I'm sure they can still sell out huge crowds but i think jermaine wants a michael production, huge stadium...fireworks and everything like the victory tour. I don't think his pride will let him do smaller shows like tito, i don't see anything wrong with smaller crowds instead i think it's more intimate:wub: i wish i could have seen michael do an unplugged sort of thing but of course he was always about being grand so that was never gonna happen lol.

I so concur with your above statement and if I'm gonna be honest, it just pains me to see certain things that have gone down since Mike's passing by some family members. Did the media care about any of the Jackson's participating in charity work before? doing interviews with them? photo shoots in their homes with their kids? No........all this 'interest' came about simply because Michael died, period. Unfortunately for them it was always about Michael and it always will.

I think MJ fans are just more clued in now to what the family has been doing but before MJ died there was press about their activities. Its not fair to say they have been doing nothing. Its just that whatever MJ was doing overshadowed them. I think they could be successful doing Las Vegas shows and other small venues. Many older acts tour and find success even though not much is written about them. The brothers have fans. There's a whole website dedicated to the family as a whole and that was before Michael died so there's still interest.

MJ is still overshadowing them who ever who is interviewing them, etc is only doing it b/c of their association to Michael not because of what they have achieved, ppl ask them about Michaels kids and Michael (the case), no one asks them about themselves. Its always been like this and it will forever going to be like this, Whoever here thinks that now they have managed to get out of Michaels shadow is not facing reality.

MJ is never going to go away thank goodness. But that doesn't mean that the brothers can't get together and tour small venues. There will be people there interested in them because of who they are and because of Michael. When I went to see Tito perform before MJ died it was because I love Michael and I liked the family at the time. Why wouldn't I support them.

Tito has been doing his own little thing since forever he didnt mind doing small venues as long as he got a chance to perform somewhere he was out there. The rest of them on the other hand and especially Jermaine live under some kind of illusion, the good OLD days are history. 90% of the world have trouble keeping up with their names, they are not even known nor considered celebrities in most part of the world (world does not revolve around america) yet there u are talking about interest, those brothers know damn well why they didnt do shyte for the past 20 + years.

I can think of plenty American artists who are not known all over the world and who are still successful. I'm not talking about a world tour. I did say Vegas and small venues. Sucessful doesn't have to mean on MJ's level.

Tito has been quite successful doing the blues circuit at small venues for a few years now and that is what he enjoys doing. Michael's success is just simply unattainable by any artist, yet alone the brothers. I wish them all the luck in the world but lets face it, they need to stop kidding themselves. The essence of the Jackson 5 and what made them huge is no longer here and that can simply not be ignored.

I'm sure they know that and on their show Jimmy Jam brought that up to them. Its just something they will have to find a way to deal with.

the way to deal with it isto aceppt reality and move on, there is no other way jimmy was absolutely right with what he said, with michael being gone there isnt much interest left

I'm sure they know too and i know michael wouldn't want them to quit if their hearts are still in music. They will have to change the dynamics of the group and move on with michael in spirit.

And therein lies the problem in my opinion, i.e. "small venues."

To be honest, I really don't think Jermaine is interested in "small venues," and that's why he spent so many years waiting for Michael to join the brothers on stage again. Without Michael's involvement, nobody would be interested in backing the brothers on that level.

Someone needs to first sit down with Jermaine and explain to him that things are no longer the same. The good ole days of the Jackson 5 are over and he needs to come to terms with that before they move forward. It's 2010 and things are way, WAY different and so are the brothers.

(Ain't nothing wrong with SMALL VENUES, a lot of artist from back in the day are living very comfortable lives because of small venues.)

It's a new day, and he (they) need to "try" and make it work for the artist they are today, i.e. "there will be no big "This Is It" type of production for the brothers without Michael.

that is why he went to Gambia to perform so he got his wish that way.he still thinks that he can rock the charts ,crowd.

There is interest left and more than you think, michael was/is the most talented/popular brother.but the jacksons brothers has many many fans that are asking for them to release new music and tour again. I am a fan of michael and I am one of those fans looking forward to the release of there new music and there tour.

Oh 2300 Jackson Street, is that the last album the brothers did WITHOUT Michael?

Also, is that the ONLY album the brothers did without Michael?

I'm just trying to keep up. LOL!
