Jacksons, Blind Side Actor Boost Kids Program

Georgetown almost came to a complete standstill last night when Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill, on a "date night," dined at the posh Cafe Milano just a block from a star-studded dinner for Children Uniting Nations, founded by uber Democratic insider, Hollywood entertainment biggie and Bill Clinton buddy Daphna Edwards Ziman.

While an organizer tried to convince the Bidens to stop by and meet with Jermaine and Randy Jackson, Blind Side actor Quinton Aaron, and singer Abraham McDonald, he decided instead to just send his support and go home.

But Ziman, who his today hosting the Fifth Annual Conference of Children Uniting Nations, said that Biden "expressed how supportive he is of what we are doing."

Her event was a block away at the equally ritzy Neyla restaurant where the stars nibbled on Mediterranean fare and drank Sangria while explaining why they support the group, a non-profit built to help foster children around the nation. "We can make the right changes if we give the children the right tools," said Jermaine Jackson, who explained that his family's new goal is to adopt the pro-child mission of deceased brother Michael Jackson.

Randy Jackson, meanwhile, said the Jacksons plan to dedicate part of the proceeds from an upcoming tour to fund Children Uniting Nations.

While the group has an international focus, actor Aaron wants instead to help foster children and other at-risk kids at home. "You have to take care of home first. That's how I see it," he told Whispers. On Capitol Hill today, he plans to join in Ziman's effort to press Congress for support.

The event was sponsored by three Washington media and entertainment reps, Greg Houston, president of PSA-DC and a senior advisor to the law firm Odell, Simms & Lynch, Lani Hay, president of Lanmark Technology, and Christine Warnke, with Hogan Lovells.

What people have to understand is that a father does not have to support their children with a court child support payment. That is what Alejandra is asking for. If a father goes out and buys his children clothes and food and provides a roof over his children head , there is nothing wrong with that. He is supporting his children. True they are not supporting Alejandra but that is between them. Just look at Genevive, Randy Jr. , Jaafar, Jermasty and Donte. Do they look like they are missing a meal or not clothed to the lastest style. Aljandra says she has no money. Her two younger was on a two week vacation. Did she yet go out and find a j-o-b . There is two sides to a relationship you must look at both sides.

Sorry, but in America, that's how it works. When parents with children are no longer living under the same roof, EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING is handled by the courts.

Going through the courts, not only protects the mother, it also protects the father. A father giving a mother a few dollars here and there is not documentated nor recorded. That's why it all goes through the courts. Nobody can come back later and say: "He didn't give me any money," or "I gave her money all of the time." All you have to do is look up the child support records if you really want to know who's doing what and that's why the system is set up like that.

The children you mention don't look like they are missing a meal, because they all live with their grandmother, the same grandmother who foots all of the bills, because of the kindness of her son, MICHAEL JACKSON.

And you're correct, there are always two sides to a story, but I can't take up for a father (no matter who he is) or in this case fathers who have children and dump them on their elderly mother. Only to take up with the next women. Those types of men, get NO love from me. Sorry!

exactly i find the hypocrisy from so called mj fans overwhelming, they get a pass all due to color and last name

Can we please keep it clean we don't need all their personal life stories in every thread yes we all know they have issues but the last time I seen pics of Randy with all his kids and Jermaine with his boys in a mag that was posted in this section I don't see none of Jermaine other babies mama's snatching his makeup off lets just keep it 100% about them doing something positive damn
 
I wish they would stop talking about touring for a minute.

When and if they actually ever go on tour, then they can say, 'we're on tour!'

If they want to tour and whatever good for them but there is something very phony about it. Tito to his credit had been touring long before Michael died so the fact that he tours still good for him. But when was the last time Jermaine did a tour and when was the last time Randy did any touring? It would appear that the brothers are touring just because Michael died like Michael dying gave them a reason to tour and if they tour and do a bunch of his songs then it would be more then clear why they toured. I could be wrong and I hope I am

Your right, and all of the brothers solo work had just stopped completely ever since the 1989-1991 ish..Except for Tito who actually released something (although it wasn't considered an official album) in 2003.
