Everyday I sit and ask myself how this song is being sang Something whispers in my ear and says leave MJ song alone For we not hearing you Though MJ is far away I am here to say
Leave MJ song alone we will boo you Though you’re ripping the song far apart god bless your heart Please leave MJ song alone

Well he tried. I thought it was ok the first few seconds when I started playing it but I soon changed my mind. Oh well.

I don't want to be mean to him but really he should stop trying to be Michael, I do feel like he is trying to live up to Michael standard..and I think there's something deeper to this, seems he's been doing this for a very long time since Jackson 5 days - wanting to be like Michael and feeling inferior compared to Michael. Maybe this is also something to do with Joe and making him proud.. I heard Jerm is/was a daddy's boy.. Joe likes money&success and that's what seems to make him proud..well MJ was the most successful in the world, Joe was proud of that, and boasted about that.. he still does. Jerm maybe wanted his dad to be proud of him and boast about him like that.
I mean MJ was his younger brother and he was getting all the attention and we know Jermaine likes the spotlight - he said so himself. I swear I can even see it in some of the old pictures of the Jackson 5 days.. he has a look on his face like he was whinging/hurt/jealous about something. I also remember Michael Lee Bush saying about the costumes for the 30th anniversary at MSG that he designed them all different colours, the brothers had all black with different colours and he designed Michael in all white, but Jermaine decided he didn't want what MLB had designed for him and in MLB's words 'Jermaine did his own thing, like always' and he turned up in his own outfit.. guess what colour - all white! Jermaine, just be yourself and be satisfied with that. Being like Michael just can't happen, for anyone. I watched the Jackson Family Dynasty and he does act quite like a whinging/spoilt child.. I feel some sympathy towards him because maybe his childhood and younger days have had an affect on how he is today.. well.. we are all supposed to be a product of our childhood.

blahh, it's 3am and I'm tired and blabbing on to myself..

exactly my thought but i have no sympathy for him because when Michael was alive it was different but now it looks pathetic.

" Everybody is happy' , says Jermaine.

West Africa: MFWA Oppose Jermaine Jackson's Visit to the Gambia

21 May 2010

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) is calling on Jermaine Jackson, an American singer, leader of the renowned Jackson Five and senior brother of the late revered Michael Jackson, to call off his intended trip to the Gambia to perform on the occasion of President Yahya Jammeh's birthday.

The Gambian leader has invited the American musician to perform in the country to a special audience of 4000 people on May 31, 2010, at his home village of Kanilai as part of activities to mark his birthday. Jermaine Jackson is also billed to speak about Michael Jackson and the family's acclaimed musical career.

We are calling on the renowned musician to halt his planned trip to the Gambia in protest against Jammeh's reign of terror on the people of the Gambia and his complete disregard for law and order, freedom of expression, and the fundamental human rights of the Gambian people.

The 16-year rule of President Jammeh has witnessed several extra-judicial killings, abductions, torture, unlawful arrests and detentions. Although the Gambian constitution and law prohibit arbitrary arrest and detention, there have been numerous instances of police and security forces arbitrarily arresting and detaining citizens without charge or trial. The Gambia under Jammeh has become a cemetery of rights; a sordid paradise of fear.

This impending visit and performance by Jackson will not only constitute an endorsement of Jammeh's tyrannical rule, but also an indictment on the glorious reputation and good name of the Jacksons.

President Jammeh has over the years adopted ways of exploiting the great works of Alex Haley (of ROOTS fame), to confuse unsuspecting African-Americans, and to gain good but undeserved international publicity, especially in the U.S. We are, therefore, calling on Mr. Jackson to be mindful of Jammeh's ploy to use him for publicity as part of his tactics to cover up of his gross human rights violations.

The names of Michael, Jermaine and the entire Jackson family are too precious to be dragged in the ignominy and disgrace that Jammeh represents for the people of the Gambia and Africa. It is the responsibility of all good people to protect the name of good leaders, in whatever field they may be, from the political and publicity abuse and exploitation of tyrants like President Jammeh.

The MFWA is urging both local and international media, freedom of expression and human rights organizations and advocates to join in this campaign to prevail on Jackson to call off his intended trip to the Gambia.

Who knew MJ had a 3rd rated impersonator in his own family?

Should I laugh....or cry?

How old is he? 55? 56?

I'm waiting to see when he is actually going to achieve something in his life.

great said :toofunny: :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Oh... I just can't understand Jermain... He must to stop doing this....

I actually feel a little bad for Jermaine. He wants what Michael had (and STILL has) so badly. Poor thing!

At this point in the game, I just don't think he should be "trying" to imitate Michael. In my opinion, NOBODY will ever be able to fill those massive shoes, not even Michael's own flesh and blood. Real talk!

Jermaine is just going to end up embarrassing himself!

In my opinion, what Jermaine needs to do is take a page from Tito's handbook. You see how Tito has his OWN little style, i.e. "the Bowler Hat" for example. Along with his OWN style of music, i.e. "the Blues."

Now don't get me wrong, Tito still devotes a small portion of his show to some of the J5 songs, but you can clearly see that Tito's shows are about him and the music he is into NOW. Tito carved out a comfortable llittle "nitch" for himself and it works.

I guess this is in the 50% you do comment on then?

If this is an MJ tribute concert then won't everyone be doing his songs???

A la the Freddie Mercury concert.

I don't recall the crowd shouting at George Michael & Axl Rose, 'Get your own songs'.

I fail to understand the hatred shown towards Mike's family. Especially when hate was the opposite of what he was about.

Mind you many of you simply hate anyone who isn't MJ. Sad.

i don't have problem with him signing mj song as a tribute BUT he is using it for his comeback on stage if u listen to him what he is saying and doing this whole year.
and it is not hate ,hate is strong word .i just don't like him and his phony acts and that is my opinion and i am untitled to it .
Michael didn't judge people and that is what u r doing right now.

In my opinion, this is not a ONE time thing. It appears that Jermaine wants to be Michael. Right down to the "blond chick" playing the guitar in his band.

I recently saw a picture of Jermaine (on another board) and he's holding up drawings of clothing he wants to wear on stage. (Did anybody else see that picture?) Guess what, they are ALL costumes made to look like costumes Michael wore on stage. Right down to the "arm-band."

Jermaine calls it the "Jackson" look, but CLEARLY it's the MICHAEL Jackson look. LOL!

 @ Tony R, I don't agree

sorry but to me its just pathetic..make your own songs.
Alot of people cover michael's songs in tribute, it's a sweet gesture. If you watched the entire promo/teaser you'd see that jermaine performed osome of his own songs and some jackson5 songs which are as much his as michael's, he's also is planning on doing some of janet's.

I don't mind other artists covering Michael's songs but when it comes to Jermaine, sorry I just think that he's taking advantage the situation maybe to gain popularity or something (well that's what he probably thinks).. that's the way I see it. we always see/hear Jermaine here Jermaine there. enough

poor him....he is trying...trying

AT the end of the day , that is his brother he lost and maybe he feels a lot of left over gulit or things that werent resolved . he seems to me to be suffering a little about michael. and ppl give him such a hard time. hell Michael jackson isnt my brother and im still in pain. so i can imagine his family no matter what happened when he wasalive. but i must say i cant take his falsetto's , he really doesnt sound like michael at all and the band could use some work. with that i say good luck J J:wild:

I would say the "problem" that some Michael Jackson fans may have with Jermaine is his lack of humility.

Michael may have been the biggest star in the world but he was also an extremely humble person - something that really comes across in the "This Is IT" documentary.

The bio for Jermaine's website states that many people have said his verision of "Smile" is the best they have ever heard.

The implication being his version was better than Michael's!

Why did he need to say that? Could he not just have said something like I was honoured to sing at my late brother's memorial and left it at that.

And then he released the song as a single - why!

Saying at the memorial he was Michael's backbone. I think many MJ fans were offended by this comment.

Why if he is paying tribute to Michael can't it be JUST about Michael.

He always has to put himself in there to as if to say what about me, don't forget about me.

Maybe if he just gave Michael props and left it at that the MJ fans would not give him such a hard time.
