They were talking about it on the radio and listeners said she sang Together Again against a backdrop of photos of them as children, and the listeners said they cried, but the song's up beat kept them all up on the floor dancing. They gave the show high praise.

she's been blowing the kiss up to the sky since the Velvet Rope tour when the song was dedicated to her friends that died from AIDs.. Just because she throws a few photos of her deceased brother on the screen doesn't mean the kiss in the sky is for him.

Can the kiss be for both of her deceased friend and her deceased brother?
Why such bitterness? When Diana Ross "threw a few photos" of Michael on the screen during her show, people call it a heartfelt tribute. When Janet does the same, some choose to play down the significance?

I would've hoped that his sister could've done a better tribute than throw a few pics on the screen and sing a song that she had dedicated to her friends 14 years ago. But I guess a little tribute is better than none at all

But, this is a Janet Jackson concert. She's a very successful artist in her own right. Throughout her career, she's tried hard not to live in the shadow of her larger-than-life brother.
It's not an easy situation for her. I'm sure she wants to honor her brother. But, if she does a elaborate tribute in her shows, people will find it tacky. Some would even think she uses Michael to advertize herself.
Together Again is a wonderful song. I find a new meaning to the song. May be Janet feels the same. Who knows? May be she feels Together Again is the most appropriate song to express her feeling to her brother. There is nothing wrong to "re-dedicate" the song to Michael, IMO.

Janet didn't have to do any tribute if she didnt want to it's her show. So any tribute big or small is a good thing.

What is she supposed to do? Fall to her knees and scream and cry because she lost her brother 2 years ago? Janet is still grieving, but she is also trying to move on and continue what she has been doing for years: performing. That in itself is a tribute to her brother.
I don't understand why some MJ fans feel they are in a position to judge whether someone is paying tribute enough/in the right way. :doh::doh:

Honestly about her tribute to Michael... it's perfectly fine with me... I think it's nice! Her song together again gave me lots of comfort too when my boyfriend passed away.
I think we're all grieving pretty different.
I do not in public... I just feel it no business to others... it's between me and the dead person.
Still can live with everybody dealing different with grief.

Yeah I agree about the tribute thing. I think Janet does it the same way; grieve privately. She wrote in her book that she never wants to bother anyone with her own struggles and pain........people need to stop judging her.

Ha ha ha ha Too damn late. I'm not saying her tribute is being used to advertise her shows...but look back to MOST things (especially her interviews and promotion for her CD & book) she did in the last 2 years. She might never admit to it, but she used her dead brother to etch her long comatose career back to life. Just saying...
Ooohh come on now. I usually agree with you..but that's pushing it a bit too far.
That being said, I haven't watched her tribute ..nor do I care that she is doing one.
It seems a bit hypocritical after everything that went on for the past 2 years.....But that's on her. She is free to do whatever tribute she wants

Anyway, Janet did the first show at the Sony Centre in Toronto, ON yesterday with the second show today, she dedicated Come Back To Me to them, and she changed her hair to the gelled back style, I personally thought it was better before:

Michael was in his own class sure.
But I'm always wondering why fans (not only of Michael) can't just enjoy what they have and let others enjoy what they chose to. AND I SURELY DON'T WANT THIS TO BE AN ANALYZE OF FAN BEHAVIOR HERE AGAIN! I just think there is no need to talk others down or even all the time compare them to Michael when you're really happy with your fandom.
Gosh leave Janet alone! She's at least working and having a career on her own!
See I was the 'golden' child in the family. It makes you so lonely and ppl just don't understand what they do to you with that... my brothers could never make it right and they tried so hard... it wasn't their 'fault' school and blah for them was much harder. Obviously they are surely worth no less than me and certainly do have their qualities.
To make a long story short... ppl who do compare to talk others down while they have not even walked a minute in the mocassins of those ppl tell to me only the most about themselves. Why can't you just enjoy what you have? Be happy with your choices and let others do theirs. Why the negative attitude? Why trying to at least disturb the fun and enjoyment of others? Can't you try to find attention with something positive... it will make the feedback you'll get nicer also, for sure!

It's funny how some peope seem to forget that Janet was a star in her own right since the 80's. Out of ALL Jacksons, she is the only one who even comes close to the superstar status Michael had. She worked hard, released singles, albums and videos, and toured the world, and earned everything she has. It's pathetic that some MJ fans are being so hard on her. It makes me feel ashamed. Really.

She worked hard and made tons of money yet her mother and father relied on MJ to take care of them, and now that he's dead they still rely on him to take care of them? Something is wrong with that picture..
Anyway good to see she's enjoying herself and touring again after her last tour outing.

See that's just the problem... we don't even know if some of Janets money is not also flowing through the fingers of their parents or the family bla... the Jackson family is living on a big spending foot if you ask me... nobody of us can really judge where all the money is coming from... and that's why nobody should?
Yes we know by now for sure obviously a lot of money came from Michael... but we do not and will for sure not know about Janet as long as she'll hopefully be living on.
Sheeeesh in Germany surely the tax proving ppl would be all over the place for sure... and I wouldn't want to see the bills for past years the Jacksons would have to pay then or even Michaels estate then here! LOL
