ABC's Roberts lands Janet Jackson interview

NEW YORK (AP) - ABC has booked a prime-time interview with pop star Janet Jackson, expected to be her first lengthy television interview since her brother Michael's death.

ABC's Robin Roberts will interview Jackson at her California home for an hour-long special scheduled to air on Nov. 18. Jackson is promoting a greatest hits CD that is coming out for the holiday season.

ABC says it's the first time Jackson has allowed television cameras into her Malibu home.

Janet Jackson paid tribute to her late brother in September at MTV's Video Music Awards. She danced to a recording of their duet "Scream" and did not address the audience.

Michael Jackson died on June 25.

I am over these interviews. We have had too many of them already...Jermaine, Joe, Marlon, LaToya...Yawn.

I love Janet, but I don't think I can stomach another sibling rehash...using MJ's death to plug another product.
 
Looking forward to this interview. And I very glad that it will be Robin Roberts doing the interview and not Barbara Walters. Robin is usually very respectful in her interviews.

Sorry but these 4 you mentioned are the ones that have done most of interviews. Janet has yet do actually do a formal interview. Janet is the most successful in the family beside Michael who actually managed to peek outside of his huge shadow.
 
I love Janet but I find it a bit fishy that she is giving a huge prime time interview about Michael the week her album is released.

boo bye! Janet has a life to live and a career to continue,.

Do you think she will sit down with an interviewer and not be asked about MJ? I think not. Anyhoo its an hour long special, Janet is not going to be speaking about MJ for an hour, I don't have to see the interview to know that.

Well lets see, she has a GH album released on that day so she's doing what any artist would do, promoted it. Now there is no way any interviewer is going to sit down with Janet and not ask about MJ, they did it when he was here. Janet never used MJ when he was here, she's not going to start now.

ANd if fans can talk about Mike and tell their emotions why can't his sister? Someone who actually knew him and grew up with him as her big brother. SOme fans need to stop acting like they were closer or cared for him more than his family:doh:
 
Its not being fishy she just ready to speak out i know she going to cry cause Janet is very emotional I will always love and respect this woman Michael is her heart i know she deeply care for him as of that other sister she the one who needs to sit the fuck down some where just tired of seeing her let us miss you please. looking forward seeing my ICON speak lol
 
November is sweeps month. and we know Michael will be the subject. let's not pretend big ratings money is not what this is all about. November is the time that american networks want the most sensational stuff on, because that is when they have the chance to make the most money from the biggest advertisers. that is what is defined as sweeps month. the other month would be february.

Thank You, I'm sorry I like JANET just as much as the next person and I believe that out of all the siblings, she was genuinley the closest to Mike but please, if she didn't have an album to promote, she would be no where to be found (which I actualy think is better right now).
 
lawd hammercy.....she the ONLY jackson who has a project to promote, first of all. them always ask her about mike when she do interviews, secondly. and third, if u dont like her or the idea of an interview, for pete's sake, dont watch it.

Good for Janet she has a right to give an interview and promote whatever she needs to...she needs to return to normalcy in her life. As much as she loves her brother and is still morning him we can not expect her to stay a hermit forever...

I don't have a problem with ANY of the Jacksons giving interviews or promoting stuff. That is there perogative.

Just glad it a'int Diane Sawyer or Barbara Walters interviewing her!

And I'm not about to complain 'cause I want to hear her speak about Mike no getting past that.
 
Yes I can't wait i'm going to mark that canlder on this day! I wonder is going to talk about her new album. Even what she gotta say about her borther Michael's death?, anway It's going to one hott interview to wacth...

She IMO is the least likely to do that. They would ask her about Michael anyways, if he was alive with us now.

Janet did one with Harper's Bazaar and I imagine what she'll share when asked about Michael will be along the lines of what she said in that one. She doesn't seem the type to be sharing certain intimate details like somebody else...:ph34r:
 
Janet is ALWAYS respectful and loving about Michael!

She has ALWAYS protected him, defended him, had his back throughout his whole life.

This is a Janet Jackson interview and I am sure she will be asked about her GH album, her upcoming movie, her book. . . but there is no way that Janet can ignore the elephant in the room. This article is just PR to get even more people to watch it because they think they will spend the whole hour talking about Michael.

Janet has never used Michael in any way, shape or form and I am sure she is not starting now. Plus, who knows. . . maybe it's her manager who booked that date for the interview!

Out of all the siblings, the one that I respect 100% is Janet because she has integrity and she never abused her relationship with Michael. . . unlike many of the other siblings.

Oh has anyone seen the new trailer of WHY DID I GET MARRIED TOO??? It was on ET last night, but now u can see it on youtube!!!!! it AWESOME!!!
 
She's just doing her job. :)
If Michael was still with us, asking her about him would *still* be a major selling point of the interview. It's sad, but interviewers always ask a Jackson about Michael even if what they want to discuss hasnt got anything to do with him. This time, it's just unfortunate that the subject is his passing :( :( :(

I don't think she will be speaking about Michael much. At least not too much. She will have to address this what had happened, but I think she will speak about her work. I am really glad she is busy. I hope she is doing well. His lil sister Janet... :give_heart:

It's from her album The Velvet Rope, it's the interlude before the song Together Again, I think. It's so fitting. :)
