Somethings just don't add up... The trial date was set in May, and we already knew it was a 4/5 weeks trial. These shows went on sale in AUGUST....

Can someone in Australia ..lt us know what has happened in the media, or with the shows she did perform last week? I know this is a 2000-seat theatre, but were all the dates sold out?

Anyway, I guess it doesn't really matter now why she has done a 180...SMDH

We are all members here and everyone's opinions are valid. I am not mad I have heard similar things before here. We don't have to agree with each other but we can state how we feel. I am sorry your concet plans didn't work out. Maybe it will get changed and if not this can still turn out to be a great concert anyways. You never know right? I hope it all works out well for the fans.

Janet is already in the Guiness World Records books. "Most Searched in Internet History" and the "Most Searched for News Item" in the 2007 edition and Scream is still in as the most expensive music video.
 
Why is that so unbelievable? I'm still amazed at the amount of hate people have towards her.

I did NOT say that you hated her. I said the hate TOWARDS her. Two different things.

And yes that's what I gathered from your post above me, because apparently you were unimpressed that Janet was in the Guinness Book of Records.

I have no hatred for Janet! Never! -_- I'm no fan of Janet and I do not think she had or has made ??a greatest career and made unforgettable things that will be remembered by all forever and bla bla bla. Perhaps the beginning of her career was interesting :scratch:, but in recent years and today :fear: ... Janet is not an artist who cause impact as... for example, Madonna and of course, as Michael. Janet is far from being as great as them. :fear: It's my opinion. -_- NOW... move on. :coffee:

P.S. I have nothing against with Janet's fans, right? ;)

NONE of you are personally affected by this. I have never seen Janet live before, I don't live in America. I am not privileged like you guys, a lot of big acts only come here once every 10 years or so. The last time Janet was here was in 1997 when I was just but 6 years old. I paid to see her up close and personal and I'll be damned if I don't get that. I'm not the only one who's upset about this, just go onto her facebook page and you'll see hundreds of fans in Melbourne who are begging her promoters to reconsider this. I don't care if she has to come back next year, I don't mind waiting as long as she needs time. I am very proud of her for going back for the trial, and she has my full support. The fact is that Janet is my idol, I look up to her very much. But squishing three concerts into one is NOT okay, it's unfair to do it to only ONE city. Very unfair. And that's why I'm mad.

I'm entitled to my feelings, and yes I do believe that your opinion is not valid - on this particular matter- because you do NOT know how it feels. Go cry me a river and go back to hating on the Jacksons like you normally do, LOL. 'Cause that seems to be your pet habit around here.

In short, girl PLEASE. Just no. LOL.

Well, it seems as though you're gonna be damned 'cause no amount of whining and complaining is gonna get you that coveted 'up close and personal' show you want so desperately. Anyway, look on the possible bright side, given that this verdict most definetly will be known sometime next week, comes this Sunday Janet could announce yet again that she feels the need to be with her family a bit longer for the verdict and hence will just CANCEL the remaining dates in Australia. I guess all those complaining would be much happier then.

Did you even READ the situation or what happened to the shows? Or do you like to just assume, 'cause girl that's exactly what you're doing LOL. I have every right to be angry about the situation, and yup I'm gonna keep on saying it in this thread because that's exactly what it's for. You come and tell me how you feel when you don't get what you paid for. The situation is highly unfair. The title of the tour is "UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL". An arena is NOT up close and personal.

But hey, I'm just a whiner to you. *shrugs*

To be honest as a fan of both Madonna and Janet, while Madonna maybe much more successful, Janet has had a huge impact on the artists of today, maybe even more so than Madonna. She is often sighted as a key inspiration by artists of today such as Britney, Ciara, Rihanna, Gaga, Usher the list goes on and on, so I think it's a little unfair to say she hasn't had an impact. But we're going off topic here, so we'll leave it at that :) :flowers:

Actually, that's exactly that. I would NOT be angry if Janet came back in a couple of months after she completed the rest of the tour, in fact that's what I'd prefer! I don't mind waiting, I don't mind at all that she needs to be with her family. Again, I support her 100 percent. What I AM angry over is that I paid to see her up close and personal, and now I'm supposed to see her in arena with 6000 + other people. That's not the terms of her tour. That's not what I paid for.

LOL so your attempts to guilt trip me are extremely irrelevant and not very well thought out. You don't read my posts. You just assume that I'm having a whine about something "stupid" and that I'm just like every other fan. I am not. Go back and read my posts here and in the other Janet threads. Janet is my hero, she is everything to me. I can't wait to see her regardless of what's going to happen, but I'm 100 percent in my right to be angry and sad that her tour promoters rescheduled a small concert into an arena.

to be honest, 6000 isn't that big a number, there have been crowds much bigger on this tour, I went to the Royal Albert Hall for 2 of her concerts, one up front and one in the higher section, and in each concert Janet was crystal clear. Going off what I've heard, the arena configuration will be tweaked to make it seem like an up close concert, so it won't be like the shows she's played at the arena in the past, it will still seem up close.
 
The fact is though is that I have an extremely cheap ticket that was already near back row, because it was the only thing I could afford. Originally I thought I'd might be able to see her, but I think now I'll just be in the nosebleed section. Still, you think my complaining is bad? LOL! You should read the stuff on her facebook page, there are people that paid thousands of dolllars to see her on all three nights and they have the nerve to complain about their front row seats!
 
I'm not saying that your complaining is bad, I think as a paying customer of the show you are fine to say whatyou want. I'm just saying, where as before you were in a tiny theatre, now you're in a large theatre sized arena, it won't seem like an arena with nosebleed sections when you are at the concert most probably, as for just 6000 people they won't need to be opened, so will be covered up and it will be as though they aren't there. Your view will probably be fine, have you been contacted about your new seats?

Mmm, the thing is though that I've heard rumours of them selling off the rest of the seats cheaply. I'm just mad, you know? I'm not mad at Janet, I'm mad at whoever decided to squish the three shows into one. I'm sounding like a broken record here, haha!

I just got contacted about my seats, and actually I think they may be better than what I originally had! They offered me Row H directly in front of the stage. Actually.....now that I think about it.....that's pretty damn good. I'm thinking a LOT of people have asked for refunds. This may even turn out better than I originally thought! Now let's just hope and pray it doesn't rain on Thursday night haha!

Actually she has. Janet helped pioneer choreographed dance routines in music videos along with Michael. You can see her influence in artists such as Britney Spears, Destiny's Child, TLC, even Lady Gaga. I don't know why you have such an aversion to Janet's impact on the music industry. What's so bad about admitting that she HAS done a thing or two? She's not Michael, we all know that. But she's still played a big part in developing the female side of the music industry. Don't forget also that Michael was inspired by her too; look at the video for The Knowledge from Rhythm Nation. It predates the panter dance from Black or White by a few years, and yet it is very, very similar. Same with the sound and video of the Pleasure Principle in relation to Speed Demon. Michael knew his sister was innovative and was thus inspired by some of her work.
