Janet at restaurant asked about Conrad Murray

True, but that said, I don't believe the family's intervention stories nor do I believe Michael was addicted to anything when he died. I think the intervention stories are used to show that the family was "close", when in reality I really don't think Michael had much contact with the rest of his family (except his mother) apart from the occasional visits. It's all about keeping up the public image of a wholesome family, as Michael has said before. And even IF the family believes Michael was addicted to drugs, they shouldn't speak about it in the media. Keep it private or at least wait until the trial is over. I wish they would focus more on Murray's crimes and the fact that their brother/son was murdered.

Still, I think the incredible hate the family receives on this board for anything they do is uncalled for, and to blame Michael's family and friends for his death is just ridiculous.

True the hate is uncalled for. Whether it's true or not they did interventions... When they say they did you can't get mad and and call them liars only to say no one tried to help him. Whether they did interventions or not, I'm not 100% sure.

I am fairly certain the interventions did not happen. And I'm not saying this because I refuse to believe the possibility of Michael being addicted to drugs. If he was, I wouldn't hold it against him and I certainly wouldn't love him any less. If there were any real indications that Michael was addicted, I'd be more open to believe the family's intervention stories. But so far anyone that was really around him in his latest years deny his addiction, and those who do claim he was addicted also admit they never actually saw him taking any drugs. He didn't look under the influence of anything in TII. There were no prescription drugs found in his body or even in his house. And he couldn't be addicted to propofol as it would've been impossible for him to rehearse for 100+ hours then. So, if he wasn't addicted to pres. drugs and he wasn't addicted to propofol, what was he addicted to then? None of those who claim he was a drug addict can answer this question, which is also suspicious to me. Plus, the family issued a statement a few years ago in which they vehemently deny ever organising an intervention, and Katherine said shortly after Michael's death that he wasn't addicted to drugs. In short: there is loads of evidence to believe Michael was never addicted to drugs and therefore these interventions didn't happen, while there is only scarce evidence to support the opposite.

What I don't understand is when people argue that Michael was in good health when he died (which he was) and that he distanced himself from the rest of his family, and then wonder why the family didn't help him? Why and how should they have helped him?

That's true... It doesn't make sense

I don't like the way this thread is going for three reasons:

1. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions. I'm not sure why some of you seem so hell-bent on repressing others from having that and having their say. That goes for both sides of the argument here.

2. I am no fan of Janet, but even I can see this thread is reaching. She obviously just didn't want to be bothered at all. When I read a couple of posts before watching the video I had the impression she was all ready to discuss anything else but not Conrad Murray. Come on guys, hysteria much?

3. This has been discussed to hell and back, do we really need yet another thread to go through all this again?

Based on a combination of all 3 points, thread closed.
