Jacksons A&E Show.. The Trailer

yes and thankfully he didnt have many of joes other characteristics either.but for some to try to justify joes actions towards mj by saying mj said im the same as joe is clearly ridiculous when mj is clearly not 100% the same as joe as we all have seen and for someone to take mjs comment and run with it and then try to say mj was exactly the same as joe in every form is obviously wrong and grasping at straws interms of trying to defend some of joes behaviour

You didn't even understand what the other poster said, Micahel his self said that and your focusing on abuse like someone else is saying this.

Meaning he talking about business minded and strong on what he believe in as far as handling his business.

I don't quite understand this post ? ........... Do you mean the music of the Jackson 5/ The Jacksons is overrated (which it isn't), or do you mean the Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy as talent wise as the Jackson 5/ The Jacksons are overrated, and are worse ie even more less talented without Michael being being the lead singer/dancer/choreographer/songwriter/ producer of the group.

My own opinion is I have no problem with Michael's brothers doing a reality television show. I would have a problem with them if they release an album and do a tour under the name of The Jacksons, because The Jacksons is really when Michael started to emerge as a great songwriter in the mid to late 1970's pre Off The Wall album. I feel they should give the group another name like The Jackson Brothers or something, ie Barry and Robin Gibb said they will never perform or record again as the Bee Gees when their brother Maurice died. Michael's brothers obviously love Michael, and his loss for them will be far harder to deal with than use fans. But at least from a professional and public view recording and tour as The Jacksons no Michael is no longer with us doesn't seem right to me. And the 2300 Jackson Street album from 1989 without Michael (and also without Marlon) wasn't exactly a success and Michael was the reason the Jackson 5/ The Jacksons were an amazing success.

Are you serious, there from the jackson and what is wrong with them going on tour calling their self the jackson which is a name they was born with.

What reviews were these? Out of the bunch I have read, the majority of people praised the movie. Only a couple of pricks dogged it for reasons that were paper thin.

she corrcet and she talking about before it was released, in the start they was giving bad reviews so people wouldn't see it and focus on those fans that claim they was protesting the movie.

your always is going to have someone say something negative and this is first time the family have allowed cameras to follow them around, you have to give credit where credit is do.

the family have done a great job of keeping their kids out of bad press.

I have been looking for the exact quote:

Jermaine Jackson: Father Joe Jackson Is 'Misunderstood'
by Staff

The star claims his brother Michael - who died in June of acute Propofol intoxication aged 50 - made many allegations against his father Joe when he was alive that were untrue.
He said: "He's probably, second to Michael, one of the most misunderstood people. And my father is the reason we're sitting her right now. And because of all the discipline - like we didn't understand it then - but now we do, very clearly."
Michael claimed he'd suffered physical and verbal abuse at the hands of his father as he turned his sons into the Jackson 5, but Jermaine insists Michael - who started singing in the group at the age of eight - had been too young to understand.
He told 'Access Hollywood': "Michael being one of the youngest at the time, didn't understand. My father is no different from any other father that just wanted things a certain way and it was not abuse."

:clapping:

Those who object to the "Jackson 5" band name have some validity to their argument but to tell the Jacksons to no longer call themselves the Jacksons is like...starting to get ridiculous.:mello:

Atlantan helped produce A&E’s “The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty” reality show debuting Dec. 13

Atlanta-based executive producer Jodi Gomes, who has known the Jacksons since the ABC miniseries in 1992, put the show together with Jermaine Jackson. Jermaine convinced Marlon, Jackie and Tito to join him to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Jackson 5’s first hit “I Want You Back.” The quartet had plans for an album and tour...

That first episode at 9 p.m. references Michael’s death at the end. The next hour, to air at 10 p.m., deals with the aftermath...

Michael, she said, was actively involved behind the scenes of the show but had no plans to be on camera. He helped get clearances for the Jackson 5/The Jacksons music you’ll hear. She said he also had ideas for a cool opening for the show but got caught up with his own concert tour that was never to be.

The last time she spoke with Michael was just two days before he died. She had a meal with Jackie (the oldest brother at age 58) in Las Vegas and they were en route back to Los Angeles when they found out about Michael...

I would believe this had MJ not put out a release stating he wanted nothing to do with a reality show or tour. All of a sudden, he was involved in the series. But now he is not here to set things straight, so everybody can say whatever they won't.

And he was working so hard on his tour, when did he find the time to work on a reality show? smh.

hmmmm, wow and I assume you was around michael 24 a day to see this with your own eyes.

Hmmmmm...When was that. The press saw the movie 3 hours before the general public.

The ONLY people that were badmouthing the movie BEFORE they even saw it were: Joe Jackson, Latoya Jackson and some follower fans, who actively wanted the movie to fail.

Actually, TII got a rating of over 86% in the press. So I don't know what negative things you are referring to. I have even read a review where the reviewer blasted Sony for allowing the press to see the movie & review it only 3 hours ahead of its general release. The reviewer went on to write, Sony underestimated how good the movie was.

They gave it a bad review because they didn't want it to be hit at the box offices, the press sometimes get copies of the movies and watch it in the privacy of their own home or private viewing, I have watched a few movies while I was working in the music business and got tickets for private screenings.

Well it's a question to you if you know about what he was doing 24 hours a days and when he didn't have time and had time to help with the reality show then youw would know I assume right.

What part of, Sony only made the movie available to the media on October 27th 6PM LA time, don't you understand?

It wasn't the press who claimed the movie had a double or that it wasn't Michael singing. These claims were made by some of the Jacksons (albeit the crazy ones).

I don't understand why you keep hammering that the press gave the movie a bad review BEFORE it came out when the facts do not support your claims.

I am not gonna argue with you if you cannot come up with real arguments instead of made up ones.

I thought it was all decided and they were shooting this before MJs death?

That review don't sound too good.. and sounds like Jermaine has the spotlight in this program..but there were terrible reviews about This Is It and MJ too, claiming things which didn't turn out to be true. I'd give it the benefit of the doubt until I see it.
Yes, fans forgot how michael jackson was targetted just before his death with bullet bey bullet knew about his impending doomed 50 concerts. Funny how some seems elated when the media attack the brothers and seems to forget that Mj was very much abused by the very same media they are now praising for attacking mj's brothers.

Michael did put out a statement that he had no plans to do a J5 tour in the near future, but i always heard that he was involved with this project. I heard that he may have put in an appearance. he did phone when the brothers were in devon and was actually on his way to join them when Katherine phoned and told him not to come.

well, after his death we knew the people who were feeding the media to attack MJ, we knew who was contacting the media and begging them to print stories that MJ was not ready to do the concerts , and was always on drugs . THE BROTHERS AND JOE . they were upset because they were not part of his concert and he turned down their offer to do the reunion tour .

In 1980 there was a special on 20/20 that interviewed the Jackson family and Profiled MJ especially they talked about MJ off the wall album and interviewed him too and showed clips of him and his brothers on the triumph tour! This show also mentioned that the Jacksons brothers had sold over 90mil albums! So who knows where that number is today for the Jacksons if they sold that much by 1980 and MJ just had off the wall out only!

Think about it! and there was no need for hype in this special like people are suggesting here because this was 1980 and MJ was not yet in the thriller era! So don't even try it! LOL

Amen!!!

Well said. Yes, it's certainly ironic that some people are now aligning themselves with the press who did nothing but crucify and ridicule Micheal his whole life. When they moved on to do the same to his brothers (his best, friends he said), certain folks jumped right on the bandwagon. It's amazing but I understand some people thrive on negativity so this is enjoyable for them. Me, I choose love over the negative any day. It's good for the health.

So now good ole' Ivy's got credibility lol
Like michael jackson, i prefer to see the best in people rather than the worst. that was what attracted me to Michael jackson in the first place. I came looking for him after i watched the martin Bashire documentary. i wanted to see why he was so unfairly treated in the press.l I gave him the benefit of the doubt during the trial and I wanted to see justice done instead of judgement. I was right that time.
I chose reason instead of bandwagon.

Me too dats. I agree completley. I chose to believe the best in Michael even though when I became a fan the media was crucifying him.

Ironic indeed. I don't understand all this negativity. Fans are judging michael's family based on stories from the very same media who lied about and ridiculed Michael. So the media lies about Michael but not about his family? Yeh right.
