Oh if you read my initial post, you'd see I didn't say anything bad about Janet. I'm a (casual) Janet fan myself, obviously not as big a fan as I am of MJ's, but I like Janet. I have all her albums and i've seen her in concert. Believe it or not, I used to be somewhat of a Janet fanatic, there was even a time *gasp* I was more into Janet than Michael (That lasted for like a few months). Ahh, bad memories no i'm kidding lol. Janet is a success and icon in her own right and I would never be that stupid to deny this. I just think both fanbases can be kinda petty and jealous and I don't see the need for all the comparisons.

Oh dear, I get worked up over anyone talking about Michael, not just Janet fans. Not at all. The MJ stan in me just wont shut up most of the time lol, but anyway it's cool. I have no problem with anyone as long as they aren't outright bashing MJ on this site. Anyway, do your thing.

well then, i suggest you do some reading. read the WHOLE thread, since you are saying NO ONE is bashing MJ. it's an evil..EVIL world to suggest that MJ would pull a death stunt to get out of touring..or..even to consider it..although it's a crass way for you to look over your shoulder at MJ massive success, because of a nod to desperation for people to force MJ to do something he clearly didn't want to or have to do, because of desperation to see him and seeing dollar signs in their eyes. and MJ is THE best selling artist ever. not wanting to admit that is bashing. omitting obvious info, that you know is true, because you want to refuse someone their due, is definitely bashing.

Don't shoot the messenger. I dig Janet, but I also speak the truth. Number 28 is a flop, regardless of whether it is higher or lower than her last record.

With his time and age he still managed/manages to beat out all the new sounds around that era. Face it, His Star has never faded. Young and Old are more than willing to spend on this man. The same cannot be said for many other performers. That is why EVERYONE Hates Michael. He just couldn't stop.

Michael Jackson is the best and you know it. That is all I have to say.

But seriously, Does Janet have any active fan forums around?

Btw she should stop using MJ to revive her career. It's annoying the heck out of me. Every time I see her talking about MJ, I want to zip her mouth. The other no career Jacksons too except Latoya.

ITA! Honestly, I think it is almost fair to say that Janet was more commercially successful than MJ in the mid-late 90s up to the A4U period. IMO, the last commercially successful album in the US for MJ was Dangerous in terms of overall sales and singles success.It shouldn't matter either way because Janet and Michael are great in their own way.I love them both.

The problem with Janet and even Whitney is that what works in the 90s and early 00s will not work today in an era where Beyonce, Rihanna and others have created a new sound.


As for Janet using MJ...SHE IS HIS BROTHER.

As for Janet, most if not all MJ fans can stomach Janet as an artist just fine, I for one am not a superfan but I think she's cool. If there are people on here who don't share that sentiment then oh well. I wouldn't call them out I'd ignore them, because believe it or not, there are plenty of JJ fans that talk just as much shit about MJ and that show just as much hate towards him for "no logically reaseon" as well, it's not right, but it most deffinitly goes BOTH WAYS.

depends if u are talking about the USA or world wide. scream and yana broke single records in the usa how much did history sell in the usa 4 mill double albums?? but if u wanna talk about WW figures than obvioulsy no one can compete with mj even with one album "only" sellling 10 mill plus. u are still looking at 30 mill sales from two albums and then if u count blood. even though its not really a proper album that sold dunno around 7 mill? ontop of the 30.

janet was massive through the janet and TVR eras no doubt. janet is a awesome album. need toget it out an listen to it. its been ages. i wish shes get back to those type of songs. shes needs a big song to get her back into things but i dunno maybe shes not using the correct song writers. is she still with jam and lewis cause nothing shs come out with in a long time has sounded fresh and different. songs like if and songs from TVR sounded like only songs janet could do. but now she just seem stuck doing songs that could be song by rhianna or any other box standard R&B singer thats out there. so shes gonna struggle when kids are listening to the likes of rhianna now who are 20 plus years younger than her and when she doesnt have a big enough hardcore fanbase that will still have her selling big numbers without kids buying her music she will always struggle

She jumped from 63 to 28. Not a flop and besides, this is a GH album. Just imagine how well it will do once she performs on X-Factor.
 
Yet another thread closed as the Janet vs Michael thing continues with arguments and bashings. It will not be tolerated so either when you open a thread about Janet discuss it in a civil manner, If you are unable to do that then just don't post. SIMPLE as.
I am aware that people are entitled to their opinions but these opinions simply go too far and I feel some just like to start a fight over it with some members.
