Michael, you are always on my mind. Some days I am strong and other days I am not so strong. Last Monday was terrible. I had to take the day off because I was just beside myself with emotion. I know you wish we can be strong because you don't like to see us sad. I'm sorry, but I couldn't hold back any longer. I felt a grief for you on that day like no other. I miss you very deeply. You are such an inspiration to me. I could go on; however, instead of doing that, I wrote what was only my second poem for you. I believed you helped me write these words.
Michael’s message – We hear you!
Michael, as I sit here thinking about your last days
You were ready to shine again in so many ways
But your light was dimmed way too soon
Your spirit now dances with the sun and the moon.
The pain and grief of your loss comes in waves and flows
When my heart will stop hurting, no one knows
From that pain, I am inspired to help and do more
My wish to serve others comes from deep within my core
My feelings of love and respect for you grows every day
Your spirit, soul and gift of love inspire me in every way
I saw your shining star when you were just a little boy
Your gift of song and dance brought the world so much joy
As you walked your life's path, I wish I would have stayed
To watch your dance of life on the world stage you played
Your selflessness and compassion was always in your heart
To make this world a better place, you chose to play your part.
As I got older, life pulled me in a different direction
After you left us, I turned to my soul in deep reflection
I realized what I had missed as the years passed me by
I know that life's path is uncertain, so I can't explain why
I just know now the impact of losing you is so deep
Your gift of music, love and compassion in my memory I'll keep
Your legacy has inspired many to heed your call to LOVE
To LOVE our planet, the sun, the moon and the stars above
To heal the world, we must start our work now
LOVE one another, care for our planet; that is our vow
There is a movement to do this, this is very clear to me
We will complete what you started, this you will see
Michael you will always inspire me in everything I do
Now I will take your lead to LOVE and inspire others too.
As others do the same, the impact will be great
In your words if we don't start now, it will be too late
We only have so much time before the damage can't be undone
Your message was clear; efforts to heal our planet have begun
I believe you are guiding us in every step we take
It is so important that we succeed for humanity's sake
Michael, thank you for your inspiration, compassion, music and dance
When it's my time to leave, my hope is to meet you should I get the chance.
