If Michael announced a tour today....

How do you think "haters" will recieve his comeback?

Well...I would be very happy! But I also would be sad because MJ sure wouldn't make a performance here in my city, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil...:(

It will be sold out, I'm sure about that and you will see the people in all ranges of age and race.

In huge cities it would, but to attract those who are not hardcore fans, he first needs to put out an album with songs that chart well and are smash hits, he would tour in the places that his album is selling well

But what is he dosent? what if he just goes on tour and sings all of the songs he has already?

I'm not just saying this as a fan. But he would do just fine selling out anywhere no matter what tracks he did. He is amazingly huge all throughout the world and he simply can't do anything but sell out arenas with people of all ages.

Well in 1997 he didn't even full a stadium in Italy... now his image is even worse than before, don't think a tou would sel out so easily unfortunatley.

Oh God, please someone tell me who doesn't want to go on MICHAEL JACKSON ' S CONCERT?(fan or hater it doesn't care) he is MICHAEL JACKSON AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!I will do everything to go there. The most important is that he isn't perform in 7 years.People want to see whats happened to him.Can he dance , sing like he did in the past.

I think it would sell, but what should he do: not another rehash of his past tours, that were very similar. He should have a brand new visual concept.

It would be ridiculous, I dont think anyone could anticipate how chaotic it would be, sell outs in minutes and tickets going for thousands on ebay etc, I have absolutely no question that it wouldnt sell in seconds, in every country, Michael is wanted now more than ever, ecspecially on the performing side of it.

I have thought about this question myself in the last few years and it is a difficult one to answer.

We all know how successful Mike has been in the past, but because there has been such a shortage of output, performances and appearances and because he hasn’t toured in over 10 years, there is nothing we can use to gauge the level of public interest in him at this point. Sure, Thriller 25 performed fairly well in the charts, but I don’t think we can use that because of it’s novelty factor and because it is widely known to be the biggest selling album in the world. It’s how people perceive him NOW that matters when it comes to current success. Lots of people love the Thriller MJ but dislike the current MJ and would not buy a new album. There have been plenty of negative stories (and of course the trial) to have a negative impact on his reputation and future commercial success.
I think it all depends on where Mike goes from here. If he releases a great album, which performs well in the charts and is backed up with good promotion (singles, videos, performances and appearances) then I think a new tour would be very successful. BUT if the album is panned as badly as Invincible, struggles to perform well and isn’t promoted well, then I think any tour would have to be kept to a minimum to prevent the embarrassment of low sales. Right now, I can’t even see Mike performing a couple of songs on TV let alone a full concert run. I am hoping for a new album success and tour, but I have been doing that for years and nothing has happened so far. I think this album is Mike’s last chance to regain the shine on his crown. If it doesn’t work this time, Mike will have to retire because there won’t be any other option, he’s been out in the cold for too long to be able to afford poor success now.

IN comparison to Janet's Tours, since she has been out for some time, and Michael, who had been away for a number of years, how do you think his comeback will be received by non-fans?

Who's comeback is more anticipated, Guns and Roses, Emenem, NEW Kids on The Block, or MJ?

now................. he may b 50 i still dont see him as old.
oh hell yes, but what city?, cos if its london im on it. definate sell out. and i think the age factor would be mixed, but lookin at all of mj's concerts majority i see in the background are white, but still mj's music is universal no matter what skin colour. im black, 19yrs old and i luvvvvvvvvve his music.

people talk thats what they do, media would have things to say about is capability and blah balh blah, but still woudlnt they like to see the show and criticize!
50 is just a number. If you got it, you got it.

try to sabotage his comeback by starting vicious rumors about him

for those who don't believe that would happen, just think about the Dangerous era.

he better not announce a tour cause all my money is stuck in an icelandic bank lol

unfortunalty yes and my parents. hopefully have it back before xmas

Poor Iceland. They have really been struggeling

no offence to the icelanders on here but their goverment has screwed the foreign savers big time.took our money then left us in the lurch.so thats the last country i could care for at the mo.

Fair enough, but the blame is to put on the government though, not the people who live there and people like yourself and your family. I have read about stories like yours in my country as well, em. It's a shame!

... and started selling tickets for it, do you think they would sell out fast, or would it be like Janet's current tour, or would only old people be there now because he's considered as an oldies act

How do you think the tickets would sell? Who do you think will come to the show (old people, young, middle age, black, white, ect..)

Overall, how do you think his comeback would be accepted and reviewed?

I picked the third option. I have read a good amount of really crappy articles, comments, "opinions" about Mike for a good while and I think the media will sabotage him when it comes to his comeback. I have no faith in the media at all. They are all going to join the bagwagon and trash this man like crazy. Even when he gets hits, they are going to say the song is this and that and radio is doing this and that to play his music. Heck, there are still radio stations that will not play his music. I mean, they will play the music of ex-cons and questionable talentless people but not play MJ. So, that is the issue with that. However, I do not think it will work because there are a lot of people that really do not care about Mike's lifestyle.

I think the tickets will sell out. MJ has not done a tour in years. I think it will sell very well in America. There have been all kinds of myths and rumors stating that MJ will not sell well in the US but I totally disagree with that. A writer from, of all magazines (and I was shocked as hell when I heard it) Rolling Stone, stated that (paraphrase) if MJ were to do tour, it will be the biggest selling tour of the year. Also, to me, no matter how the press is to Michael, his fan base is very strong and loyal. They will come. Word of mouth plays a major role. When MJ was getting ready to do the Bad Tour in the USA, he did an five day special with Mary Hart from Entertainment Tonight. ET was the only entertainment show at that time and it was not the tabloid junk that it is today. Mary was behind the scenes of the tour and after that airing of that special, the tour sold out in the USA. The media is gonna report on the tour. They do not have a choice. They are going to be nasty, but it is going to be reported. Heck, I would not be shocked if MJ let's the media, maybe an entertainment show, go behind the scenes of his tour. That would be major press. Also, how the tour would be promoted will be huge too. A lot of people get their news/information from the Internet because those people are critical and not trusting of the media. Those people have myspaces, youtube, facebook, etc. and they are going to see ads for the tour and the like.

I think that all ages, races, etc. will come to the tour. Michael is a musician that appeals all kinds of people from different walks of life. That is not going to change ever. Overall, I think the majority public will be happy to see MJ on the stage again. I think at the end of the day, no matter what people think about him, MJ is one of the last great, if not, the last great entertainer of the modern day and people want to see him. There are not enough of pure talent and pure entertainment anymore. Michael, to many people, is the only true entertainer out there that can put on a great show.

:clapping:

That was a great answer. I think that all of that is true, although the powers that be may try to sabotoge his comeback with rumors, and more claims of the previous.

^^ no, he should start his tour in the U.S, because he hasn't toured here since BAD
