have your tickets been canceled

OK so just spoke to Chris @ Ticketmaster & swapped over my last 2 tickets to my Dad's card and address. I asked if it's pot luck if your tix get cancelled (i.e you may get away with it, you may not) & he said no, we always cancel any excess tickets, but it happens retrospectively & can take a couple of months.
I questioned whether the policy had changed halfway thu (I.e. 6 tix down to 4) he said he didnt know as he's only just started.
But again, this is one employee's answer, others many have had different answers.

just change one of my tickets to my sisters card. i was told there doing this for people who brought there tickets on 11 march wed.

AAAAAAAAAAARGH!

I was just on hold for freaking 45 mins - earlier I was told I could phone back and have my order changed to a different card...but noooo, this lady tells me "we don't do that anymore" and I asked if that was a new rule, that I had just called an hour ago and the person had told me it was no problem.

She DID however also tell me that as long as our orders were made on different cards we were fine (my husband got 3, I got 3 on presale day)...I kept asking and she kept saying "its fine as long as it's on different cards" and I mentioned they were all ordered on the presale and she said that was fine too.

Am fuming, I can't believe I waited that long only to be told they no longer do that when someone had JUST told me they do!

If they take our tickets now I am gonna go mental.

See, this is how it starts. When ppl who work at the same place starts giving out conflicting information. Now HOW could she tell you it was okay for you and your husband to have over 4 tickets JUST becuz you used separate cards when they've been telling ppl that it had to be a different address as well (as in 4 per household). Makes no sense when they just had people transfering all their info to other cards and addresses to avoid cancellations. Seriously, you need you get it confirmed. Call and speak to someone else before this lady causes you to lose 2 of your tickets. So far she's the only one saying different from not only other TM employees, but she's saying something different than what the rules require. I think you need a second opinion.

Arghhh!! Good help is so hard to find.

Which number did you phone?

They are doing my head in, seriously. I would phone again but since they need to have the person there that I transfer the order to I can't keep having my mom come here and sit and wait for them to tell me "Oh we don't do that"...did anyone do this wout them having to speak to the cardholder?

The first guy said the same thing btw - that we were fine as long as it was on different cards. So both the ones I spoke to today said that. Not that I wanted to believe him and which was why I phoned back to have it changed.

God, does ANYONE know for sure! :mat:

I have emailed too and got nothing out of that..does anyone have an email other than the "ask a question" thing?

Does anyone know if Ticketmaster takes into account the Thriller packs for this limit? I mean, I bought three £75 tickets (july) and 2 Thriller packs (august) with the same credit card with same billing address...

Thanks in advance.

Just got through to ticketmaster, who told me this:

Because i bought 2 tickets for 8th July and 4 for 24th July in the pre sale with 2 different codes, my tickets will be ok, this came from the men/women at the top about 25 minutes ago.

Plus if you are in danger of cancellation, they will inform you by email or letter.

OK, just phoned again...

3rd person telling me now: 4 tickets per credit card AND telling me they can't transfer orders onto another card.
Then I kept telling him that I heard so many different things, what was I to believe and he just kept saying "don't believe anything you read online"...ok GREAT, it's my friends that have told me they JUST did that.

I give up :(

Did they say if they let you know before they take them or after? So that you can chose, I mean?

so many different storys:tease:

i got 6 tickets with differnet codes and told two would be canceled as from same billing adress

I've done the same as you, but with different dates.

You think I'll be okay?

Do you know if this also applies to Thriller packages? I have four regular tickets and 1 Thriller package. So far, it hasn't been cancelled. All the payments have gone through.

Do you know any more about the tickets being cancelled? Is it only if you bought 6 or more tickets?

Our payments have gone through too...but I guess that doesn't even mean it's safe!?

lol who knows, I seriously don't know who to believe anymore after 3 ppl telling me it was 4 per credit card after weeks of being told otherwise.

Should be aye, he said if anything goes wrong Ive to phone him direct at extension 770.

I think its the general sale tickets that seem to be in danger if you've done multiple purchases on same card.

Having read the advice on this thread regarding calling Ticketmaster to change details on tickets over the limit, I called them at 19:30 and according to the man i spoke to they had just received word from "the promoter" and they were no longer in a position to change details on tickets.

Anyone in the same poisition?

I have heard this from a few sources. Appears they have started to refuse. I would suggest to keep calling and speak to different people till you get some1 who will oblige! this has worked for a few people

I guess Ticketmaster have had one too many phones calls today from people trying to transfer tickets, maybe from real fans and maybe from touts...how do they work out the real fans from the touts? Guess they have to proceed with caution, to try to get the best result out of a bad situation.

There is a thread on the official, regarding this:

but be warned that tensions are high, so only bother if your in the same situation, not to judge, or you will be tarred and feathered lol

Ok cool, keep me updated :)

To add another side to it all!!!

I have ordered 2 for the 14th July and 2 for the 22nd July on my credit card with a pre order code on the 11/03.

My partner also using my TM account with his own PreOrder code ordered 4 tickets for the 30th August using his own credit card.

Now when i rang TM i spoke to a wonderful girl and she told me that i had about a 2% chance of having my excess tickets canceled and that i should worry to much about it.

She said that they are more interested at the moment in the people that have ordered 12 per card.

I have just checked my TM account and i still have all 3 bookings and they have taken payment for all tickets. So with a bit of luck and the grace of god everything should be OK.

So touch wood!!
