Re: Guide to Commerative/Tribute Magazines on MJ [Official Thread]
I got Jet today at work. It discusses his death, the relationship between the Jacksons and Johnson Publishing Company (owner of Jet and Ebony), his music and how it broke down barriers, a timeline of his life, his relationship with fans, his awards and achievements, the BET awards tribute, and his discography.
Separate pictures include James Brown's funeral
WMA 2006
police escort to a performance in 1984
Hugging Nelson Mandela in 1996
all the covers of Jet that he and his family have graced
There's also a section in the middle that lists some weddings and anniversaries for couples (I've never read this magazine, so I don't know if that's a regular feature), and they had different song names as headlines for each couple, like "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," for a young couple's wedding, and "Remember the Time," for a couple's fiftieth anniversary.
The articles in the magazine are rather blah. They kind of read like they were written by a middle-schooler. But it's only $1.99, and there are some nice pictures in there. And of course the cover is lovely too. If anyone wants pictures I'll take them.
Oh, and before I forget--has anyone found Ebony yet? It's supposed to be out this week. I haven't noticed it yet, and I'm itching to see what it's like.
