I agree his voice was so alive and vibrant... I'm glad they kept his vocals.
Without them the tribute would not have worked as well.

Yeah he did, but I wish he would have gotten a bigger mention. I don't feel like Teddy's death has really been acklowledged as it should be.

I totally agree with this. I was thinking that the entire time. Michael's vocals absolutely blew everyone else's away!!! What a fantastic vocalist Mike is.

And there are so many Jacksons that they can't be all of the there. As I said here many times before, I was among the many who thought the kinds shouldn't be there on stage. However, they proved me wrong, for they were great. I just hope now they can handle this carefully and keep away from media, if possible.

I am a bit tired of we seeing fishy things everywhere. Maybe it was that simple: MJ Kids, no MJ brothers.

Prince's voice and mannerisms are so much like MJ! I can't believe it. He spoke very well though although I could tell that both he and Paris were nervous. They did a great job. So proud of them!

God bless Prince, Paris, Blanket and the entire Jackson family!

I actually LOVED the performance. The song is very powerful, and I think everyone got the message... And I love how he sang too.

I felt bad for the kids though. They were super nervous, and you can see that Paris was about to cry when she first walked up on stage.

I woke up earlier just for the show and I saw it ... OMG. I cried during Prince`s speach. They are so strong. I`m so proud for them.
Great job kids!!
You have our support.
And little Blanket... just like our Mike..

Beyonce was great.... :)

from Michael's death...the brothers have been all over accepting awards for Michael including...Joe

it was the children's turn....it felt good seeing them becuz it was right...

as for Randy...there is something fishy about him...

we shouldn't fight about the family not being invited....Paris and Prince are also his family...

Today a member named khim posted an article about Michael Jackson possibly beeing an Indigo, and when you hear him on the This Is It dvd and on this case on the tribute at the beggining, so concerned and so dedicated to help this planet, really BELIEVING THAT HE, WE ALL COULD IN FACT CHANGE THIS PLANET, one REALLY starts to wonder, was he an INDIGO, here is the article.

I am just saying. If you are going to give a tribute to MJ wouldn't his family especially a LEGENDARY group J5 members be in attendance. I thought the kids were great, but it is more of a common courtesy. It is nice to see the kids looking great. Joe was correct, and people need to leave the Jackson family alone.

I don't know what to believe. Some say they were invited others say they were not.

I agree with all of you. Its about time HIS children received his award. Last time Jermaine received an award he only spoke about "the jackson five" and started thanking people. His kids when straight to the point and thanked Mj's fans and mentioned how much they love him. It was way more sincere.

Prince Michael and Paris Jackson paid tribute to their late father Michael Jackson at the Grammys Sunday in Los Angeles, accepting the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award on the King of Pop's behalf:

"We are proud to be here to accept this award on behalf of our father, Michael Jackson," said Prince Michael, 12, who stood on stage along with some of his cousins.

The boy then thanked "God for watching over us these past seven months and our grandma and grandpa for their love and support.

We'd also like to thank the fans. Our father loved you so much because you were always there for him.

Our father was always concerned about the planet and humanity. He has helped through many charities and donated to all of them. Through all his songs, his message was simple:
Love.
We will continue to spread his message and help the world.
Thank you."

Before leaving the stage, Paris, 11, told the emotional audience (including Beyonce and Rihanna), "Daddy was supposed to be here. Daddy was going to perform this year, but he couldn't perform last year.
Thank you. We love you, Daddy."

I felt really touched when Prince addressed us.
That was unexpected, but so much welcomed.
He just spoke as his father: God, family, fans, LOVE.

wow, that' performance was AMAZING!! Michael did sound the best though...It was like he was singing to us in spirit...It was incredible! And Prince and Paris! They are amazing too! Those kids are gracious and beautiful just like their father!

I guess I'm in the minority but I was not thrilled by the tribute. I was actually rather disappointed.

The 3D worked just great for me and I did love that and the parts of the video that were shown. Most of the singers did very well, but I couldn't understand most of what Usher sang and wouldn't have a clue if I didn't know the words. Unfortunately, it seemed that most of the focus was on the tribute singers and not much on Michael, really.

I would have preferred an empty spotlight on the stage, only Michael's voice and video. To me, that would have been a much better tribute.

I guess the performers meant well, but I did feel let down. I know it's probably only me because it seems like just about everyone else loved it. I'm glad most were pleased by it. I just wish I was too.

Prince was directly on point, God-Love and Humanity. And his 12??? If Michael took that award thats exactly what he wouldve said.

Just watched the tribute on youtube since I missed that portion and I actually quite liked it. Sure it wasn't anything too spectacular or amazing but it was good, imo. I feel that there was a lot more they could have done with the tribute and added more though. This just seemed very simple but still something they worked hard on. Michael's vocals in the song totally blew me away. He sounded incredible. I'm glad they kept him in, it was a great way to 'include' him in a way.

Prince did an excellent job. A bit nervous, but he did great. Paris as well, with her mini speech at the end. I love how Prince addressed the fans and how they want to continue to spread the love like Michael. Prince's words were lovely and I feel as if Michael would have said that himself. They seem like very strong and tough, but very intelligent and bright kids. I can see them as individuals taking absolutely no crap from anybody concerning their father. Paris, especially, just has this "look" to her. Michael would be so proud.


Congrats to them and Michael. Those three were the true stars tonight and definitely the highlight of the show. :heart:

I think it was Taj, or one of Tito's sons in the back, he had a tear in his eye while Prince was talking.


Ironically, Prince's voice sounds EXACTLY like my cousins.

i agree about paris. she's got that "take no shit from anyone" confidence. she could run for president some day. she'll be the leader of those 3 kids.

They're such sweet children, and have so much poise. They did a wonderful job. I love that they want to continue to spread Michael's message of love.
