Formule 1

^ great results :)

Oh yeah, in Rome I went to Ferrari-shop and there was a real-size Ferrari.
It was much bigger than what I'va thought Formule cars are.. And yes, it's the most beautiful car in the WORLD ;D

OMG! Really? I haven't seen any live. Hopefully in August in the Hungarian Grand Prix. My plan is to go there. I haven't been in any before.

Have you got pictures of that car? If so, please, please post them here!

Yep I have picture of it but I don't know how to upload it here because it's not in internet..

Is it a digital photo? Do you have it on your computer? If so then you can upload it on a (for example) photobucket account.

I haven't put in yet on computer but maybe later when i have time :)

edit: Just came to my mind that my friend made up a joke. Here it is: Why doesn't Kimi want to fatten? Because he hates Massa. (In Finnish Massa means same as weight) :D

Disease outbreak at Ferrari F1 factory

Workers at Ferrari's Formula One factory in Italy have been told to keep working despite an outbreak of the infectious disease tuberculosis.

The British newspaper The Sun reports that a staff member was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with TB, a common and deadly disease that - if untreated - kills up to half of its victims.

The newspaper said the staff member was a carbon fibre specialist, and Ferrari confirmed that he has a 'mild form' of tuberculosis.

It is reported that the 25 technicians whose job it is to build Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa's cars for each Grand Prix are currently undergoing blood tests to see if they have also been infected.

Ferrari said Raikkonen and Massa will not need tests.

"We're not happy," a British employee is quoted as saying from Maranello.

"We think the lab should be shut down until we get an all-clear. It feels as if Ferrari are putting cars before people."

OMG  No, I haven't heard about that!
I hope they get better soon and that Massa and Räikkönen doesn't get infection.. :mello:

^^^yeah, and I hope that this won't affect their race days in Monaco.

Ooh..F1 gossip! :D
Lewis Hamilton has a new girlfriend: A 22-year-old Miss Grenada called Vivian Burkhardt. They were seen together in premier of the newest Indiana Jones -movie.

Kimi's quote about Monaco's race (from last year)

Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari

“For me every race is important for the championship. But as a race there is nothing like the Monaco GP. To race in the Principality is really different from everywhere else: it is really difficult to have a perfect weekend here. When you manage it you know the great feeling you get by winning the race here. The race in Monaco is the race. It's a legend amongst all the races. My success here in 2005 is maybe the most memorable of all my races. So to win it again would be just as special. The streets of Monte Carlo are very twisty and narrow and you have to be very precise and concentrated on every single metre you go. This year there is even less room for an error now that we don't have the traction control anymore - especially when it's wet.

“It's always a great atmosphere here in Monaco for the fans and the spectators who enjoy the race weekend 100 per cent. For the teams and us drivers it's not that easy. There's lots of confusion and we don't have any own space to calm down a bit. That makes the challenge even bigger. You have to concentrate even more on the details. I always aim to win and that's my goal here at the weekend at Monaco.”

He always speaks so nicely :)

^^^yeah, but this is for this year's Grand Prix in Monaco. Here's the full column:

For me, every race is as important as Monaco. However, as a race, there is nothing like Monaco. To race in the Principality is really different from everywhere else, and because of that it is very difficult to have a clean weekend down there.

There isn't a better feeling than to get things going well in Monaco. Monaco is the race. It is the legend among all races. When you have once managed to get it right, you know the great feeling by winning it. My win there in 2005 ranks up there with my most memorable, so to win it again would be just as special.

The streets of Monte Carlo are so twisty and narrow. You have to ben extra sharp and focused on every single metre you go. This year, there is even less room for mistakes now that we don't have traction control. There could be more incidents this year - especially if it's wet!

We missed the most important practise session in Turkey, but hopefully this time we are able to work without any problems. With everybody being so close - especially in qualifying - it's important to have a good start to the weekend, so you can fine tune the car to the circuit.

It feels great to make a fast lap in Monaco. But overtaking is almost impossible, so obviously to really enjoy racing in Monaco you have to be in the front. To qualify well is always important but it Monaco it's probably a priority. I always race with the intention to win, and to start from pole position is the best option to fight for the win.

Last week we had a test in Paul Ricard and it went very well. We tried a few new things and improved the set up. The car is stronger at this circuit compared to last year. This I know.

Obviously we struggled last year in Monaco, but I feel Ferrari have really improved on the many areas that were weaker in last year.

It's always such a nice atmosphere down in Monaco. To be a fan or a spectator, you enjoy this race 100%. For the teams and for us, it's not that easy a weekend. There is always a huge fuss, and there's no space to calm down a little bit.

But of course, it makes the challenge even bigger. You just have to focus more carefully.

I always aim to win and this will be my intention going into the Monaco weekend. We do our very best to get the maximum points every weekend. This race will be very open. I feel Ferrari is very competitive with the main competition coming from McLaren and BMW. That said, Monaco can throw up some strange surprises so it's the most open of all the races this year.

Last year we only got one point from Monaco. It didn't feel good after the race, but it was a very precious point after we had finished the season. As usual, it's futile to count on points now. I think we will get a better picture of the championship after these two races in Monaco and Canada.

^^^this last sentence is very important I think.

Charity work!

A growing list of Formula One drivers have added their support to the charity event being held by Rob Smedley, Felipe Massa's race engineer.

Smedley and his wife Lucy are raising money for the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (SANDS) by holding a charity event at the Marton Country club in Middlesbrough on May 30.

They want to raise the money to support SANDS after receiving support from the charity when they lost their daughter Minnie at birth last June.

With Michael Schumacher, Felipe Massa and Rubens Barrichello already having donated items for an auction in aids of SANDS, other stars have offered their support after hearing about the event.

Now Kimi Raikkonen has donated a pair of his 2008 racing gloves, Luca Badoer a set of his Ferrari overalls, Timo Glock a set of Toyota overalls from the start of this year, and Adrian Sutil a set of overalls from 2007 when he made his debut in F1.

These items will be added to a catalogue that includes a set of Michael Schumacher's Ferrari overalls, a signed Jenson Button shirt and the helmet that Rubens Barrichello wore at the start of this season.

The auctions for the item start on Tuesday evening and will finish on the night of the charity party - May 30. Details about the auctions can be found at www.minniesparty.co.uk.

The Ferraris have some problems with the tyres, but they have time to solve the problem I hope.

Kimi Raikkonen:
"I would say this was a normal day of free practice. We went quite well, especially on used tyres in the morning. But we struggled a bit to do a time on new tyres in the second session and now we have to look at the data carefully to understand how to improve. There is plenty of time to do that and so I am not particularly worried, at least at the moment. A wet race? It would make matters complicated but it would be the same for everyone."

Felipe Massa:
"Our rivals are very strong here, even allowing for the unknown factor of fuel loads. I wasn't able to do a good lap on the soft tyres, but things went well on the hard ones: we have to study the situation calmly and try to get all the details right. If we compare today with the same time last year, I think we have made a step forward. We have changed the settings on the car compared to the past and now we hope we will see the benefits of this choice."

Blahh. Am I right that Ferrari has won in Monaco last time in 2001!?
I hope this year brings a change.. I can't stand if Lewis wins lol :pth:

Btw you have new siggy again, Kinga! :) I like it, it reminds me of Christmas for some reason.. :D

Last edited:
^^^About the siggy: it was Kimi's quote regarding the Monaco race, thought it would fit to this weekend. :)

I don't know exactly, maybe in 2001 but somewhere in the early 2000s, Ferrari won their last race in Monaco. I think Mechi knows it better. :)

I hope there comes a change, I would love to see Kimi's win there again after 2005. The best and only way he could increase the gap between himself and the competitors would be if he won or got better position than the others. He knows it very well.

It looks like though that Lewis feels this track very much and the McLaren car fits to this street track the best.

I hope they analysed the datas from Thursday and they've figured out a good solution for the softer tyres. For some reason it's good that the first practices were on Thursday and they had more time to think about it or to solve the problems.

I can't wait tomorrow and of course the race! It'll be very exciting and fun to watch.

I wanna be Kimi's friend!!!!!!!!!!

Formula One's world champion Kimi Räikkönen has brought his family and friends to the Monaco GP again this year. Räikkönen chose his boat from the period of the old SS Delphine-steamer, which is anchored in the port of Monaco.

SS Delphine was built in 1921 and it will be able to travel with a total of up to 180 people onboard. Among other things, Kimi's parents, brother Rami and their families want to stay on 78.5-meter board the weekend.

"As a general rule, the family will be here to see the race. It will be nice for them to have a boat and watch race from there," Räikkönen says. "This is a stylish classic boat. It could certainly be worse," Kimi continued.

Along with 180 people, at the same time there serves 32 crew members on board. The staff member, if necessary, may increase to 60. This involves a lot of the world's history. Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt worked in this room of World War II during the Yalta Agreement.

Kimi's mother Paula Räikkönen was quite taken into with her son's rental of a Luxury Yacht.

"This is quite a luxury. I heard that this is decorated in 1920s style," the mother-to-Räikkönen praises. "I have not had previously had such a wonderful boat, with one large cabin. We have been here for many years, in beautiful cabins, but this is something quite a luxury," she said.

^ Yeah, I read about that and that boat REALLY is luxury! Finnish football player Sami Hyypiä is said to visit the boat too :)

There has also been rumours that Jenni would be pregnant because in Barcelona she was seen wearing a necklace which protects the embryo. :D
Anyhow, Jenni has announced that she didn't know about that "power" of the neckless but one thing she can tell is that she's not pregnant.

So we'll keep on waiting..

Massa on pole and Kimi on second!!!!!!!!!!!

:fortuneteller:I see Ferrari winning!

FERRARI!!! FERRARI!!! lol

:hat_wave::hat_wave::hat_wave::hat_wave::hat_wave::hat_wave:

^^^yeah, I hope you are right, Mechi! It would be sooo good!

I wanna see Kimi winning tomorrow!!!! It was a bit tricky qualifying, Kimi almost got the pole! It was surprising for me, I wouldn't expect them in the front row really. It seemed that Hamilton feels this track and we all know that the McLarens were always really good there! Massa was great, really! I hope that Kimi carries more fuel (again) than him and can overtake him in the pit stops! I hope he can make it! He is so good at this! But we don't have to forget that it might rain tomorrow, and it would be a completely different situation. We'll see what happens!

Other news:

Kimi took part in that fashion show yesterday evening organised by Ms. Ecclestone. Of course he wasn't show the clothes on the catwalk, there were some rumours that he might do it, but we all know him, he's not that kind of man. Really. But he was there with his good friend, Heikki. It seems they have a pretty good time there, they were like 2 school boys. They were really cute! Here are some pics! I almost had a heart attack when I saw these pics first. Kimi in white!!! Not that red all the time! I think white suits him very well!!!

Kimi paid 200,000 euros (159 million pounds) for a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette owned by Hollywood actress Sharon Stone at a Monaco Grand Prix charity auction, organisers said.
The car, stored in Los Angeles, is twenty years old and said to have just four miles on the clock, was one of the top lots at a glittering Amber Fashion show in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation on Friday night.

It was really nice of you Kimi! :)

I like Kimis fashion... always stylish but still nicely comfortable!

^^^yeah, he's very stylish! He's changed a lot during the years. He was a baby-faced, skinny boy and now he's a mature, good-looking man. I don't know if he had a stylist or it's Jenni's impact. Either way he's changed in the good direction.

I can't help it but I start smiling every time I see pics of Kimi.. He's so sweet. ^_^

Like you said, Kinga, either I didn't expect Ferraris do so well, but it's totally fine with me now that they did :D
Massa was so sweet in the interview after the qualifying when he kept repeating that he can't believe that he's on pole :D

I think Kimi still has a chance to win today and everything can happend if it's really going to rain. It's gonna be interesting whatever the weather is.

^^^yeah, Kimi is too sweet to be true!

Massa was cute, he couldn't believe his eyes I think after getting the pole. It would have been better if Kimi had been in the pole position. It will be a hard race no matter in what weather conditions. Rainy race is always tricky and tough but in Monaco it's even worse.

There were some entertaining and dangerous slides during the qualifying because of the lacking of the traction control. I hope there won't be any crashes during the race. David was lucky yesterday.

Poor Nelsinho... nothing's working for him. It must be very hard for him.

What about Nick? We don't know what kind of set up they used though.

Hamilton was really surprised because of the Ferrari's front row... I've read it. I think he thought they could have gotten the pole without difficulties.

^ Yeah and also Kovalainen was surprised that he didn't get any higher.
I read that he pushed everything out from his McLaren, and if 4th place is where it ends.. it's not looking very good for him.
