As nice as it would be to actually go up to the terrace for the people there, I can understand how that would be logistically very difficult. There is only the one walkway leading up to the doors, and the terrace is really not that large at all. People would be bunched up, possibly many becoming very emotional, maybe even not willing to move on smoothly. If it were different, with a smooth flow up one sidewalk and then down the otherside maybe it would be possible, but without an exit on the other side of the small terrace, this is probably the only safe set-up, for Michael, Holly Terrace, and the people there paying respects.

Ya I know what you mean that's why I said they prob mostly did it this way for security reasons.

Me too but I think it's mostly the set up making it look like that. that and it's still pretty early in LA

It's still fairly early in California, as well as it being a workday (Friday morning right now in Cali). Most likely will get more congested as the day goes on. The shots from when they first opened up the gates, it does appear to be quite a walk up to the mausoleum since I don't think they were allowing people to drive in and park on the grounds. Not sure what kind of parking is available outside the grounds, but some of the shots look like it's a fairly busy street with limited parking.
 
Bahhh....I hate the sight of those barricades...One lady was really upset about them and said "Michael's fans always get screwed.."
 
I say that the reason that there's not people elbow 2 elbow is because they probably only let so many move forward at a time..and I bet they have to do a security check etc.
 
Just saw the workers now putting flower arrangements up on the terrace outside the doors.

Wonder how and where the Jackson family will arrive, it's less than an hour until 11am when they are reportedly going to be there. .

I just noticed that there appears to be 3 or 4 more white heart arrangements up closer to the terrace next to the walk way (in addition to the one with all the other flowers and things in the other spot).
