I was always thinking, AllForMJ, that Favoritetune was being quite the encouraging cheerleader for you and your posts. I realize his style is a little wise-cracky, but I would be surprised if his intention was to insult you in any way. I really felt he likes your posts a lot and is glad to see them and therefore feels a little disappointed when they are short.
I think you've made us all insatiable. Your posts are really looked forward to by all of us, and we do want to see meaty posts from you because we enjoy them so much.
But I see that we could end up making you feel some sort of pressure to "deliver" and that's not fair. True.
And you have contributed so much all along in this thread. But I think Favortietune probably really does know that as well.
So anyway, Favoritetune can now let you know his thoughts on this, but for the rest of us, sorry if we put that kind of pressure on you. I was just saying to a friend, that it is selfish to want someone else to do something to help us with our own boredom and need for some kind of stimulation, and in this thread, I think some of this goes on, me definitely included. We want all the old timers to come back and post up a storm again like the "old days" because it was fun for us. Selfish? Maybe. Probably.
But the bottom line, AllForMJ, is I think most of us just really love it when you come and post and give us something to think about and respond to. That's a compliment to you. But don't feel pressured or annoyed by that, please. Don't let others do that to you. Some people are more flip at times in their delivery because they don't want to always be gushy. But I know at times you have discernment, so I'll leave it with that.
Thanks, Shila. Glad you all have enjoyed reading my posts. Also, it looks like God has given you the gift of mediation. You’re very good at it.
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. 9 The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. 10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. 11 It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

Ladies & Gents,
Please let's not take one of Mr.Michael Jackson's "Favorite Thread (s)" on MJJ Community and turn it into a place where no one desires to share their reflective thoughts about who and what he has always been about...the Music, the Lyrics, and the L.O.V.E~~~
NO matter how busy his schedule was/became;
HE wanted this thread to go on...
Therefore, let's continue the one thing that gave Michael Jackson all the purity, love, happiness, and joy...
Peace, Happiness, L.O.V.E
God Bless Always ~~~
:rollingpeace::rollingpeace:
Thanks, Sdeidjs. The love story is still continuing because MJ’s love is still in the air, and because there are love songs on his current album. He is still serenading his lady friend with “Best of Joy.” There’s no telling what other love songs he’s worked on that are not out yet.
And about the thread itself, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if MJ ran across this thread one day while visiting MJJC incognito. He most likely knew that MJJCommunity existed. I don’t see how he could not have known about MJJC. MJJC was born when MJJForum and MJNO merged back in 2007. There’s no way MJ would not have heard about the merger. When MJJForum and MJNO merged becoming MJJCommunity it was publicized online.
If he ran across this thread one day while checking out MJJC incognito and spent some time reading, it would have been because he was a love story buff and this one is about him and the love songs he’s been singing. It's a love story that's being written live by a variety of girlie girls that are deciphering MJ's lyrics and having fun seeing how much of a romancer he is. He probably was blushing all over the place and bustin' up laughing too! This thread often turned into a comedy scene. lol Y’all know that man loved to laugh! lol I hope we all brought a smile to his gorgeous face and also brought out that beautiful laugh of his.

I wasn't trying to insult you, put a guilt trip on you or insinuate you owe me anything. I made those posts out of appreciation of how you write and what you wrote. When I said I felt cheated I just meant that it was like a teaser or one lays potato chip- cause no one can eat just one!
Sorry what I said offended you but yes I guess it came out the worng way and I feel worse about that than you can imagine. I'm sorry.
You take!
and thanks for all your posts!
Oooohhh, that's what that was. Cuz I was like
is this actually coming across like this? I had to reexamine it
a few times cuz it was really startin' to make me wonder.
It's cool, though, Favoritetune. Thanks for explaining what it meant. And, I'm glad you have enjoyed reading the song interpretations.
Ya know…? Maybe I’ll take some time out to explain some of what goes into creating some of the things that I post. It takes a series of things. It’s not cut and dry. MJ is such a deep thinking spiritual person that did everything with tenacity that it takes a bit of work trying to decipher his songs.
Below, is something he wrote on a piece of paper about how he wrote his songs. It is on the first page of the booklet that comes with his 2010 “MICHAEL” CD. The way he wrote his songs was very spiritual. He said:
“I hear the whole entire song and arrangements in my head. What each instrument is supposed to do. I put them down orally on tape then I go out and find that instrument.
I don’t give in until I get exactly what I want. I sing every part with my mouth.”
Because of the way that he wrote his songs, it takes a lot of patients just to decipher them. It takes closely listening while following where his songs are leading. It sometimes takes actually going back and looking at some of his videos more than once and really trying to take in all that he had put into them. It takes praying to The One that created him because God is The One that put all of the different things into MJ that makes MJ who he is (and I’m deliberately saying is and not was, because he has not been replaced and will not be replaced. There IS no other Michael Jackson. God only makes one of everybody. Even when He creates twins they are separate individuals with separate personalities). It takes being mindful of the fact that MJ often prayed, and was often in search of answers rooted in truth. It requires taking a moment to stop and really think about things, and paying attention to what comes to you after praying about him. It takes going to the Bible when a song leads to a passage, because the Holy Spirit is leading you there, because MJ was often reading his Bible and it’s naturally starting to show up in his songs. It takes remembering what his aura felt like, because it was a potent feeling that instantly told you there was something very special about him. When I read his various poems and things where he’s mentioning the word silent or silence, I instantly remember his silence and stillness and go "Yep, he really means this."
Only after doing a variety of things—like some of what I’ve mentioned above, can I then try to put it into context. And doing this, while typing, is another task in itself. It gets really involved at times.
I remember once asking God, "What was the proper way for people to interact with MJ?" You know what words came to me? The words, "Playing with the kid in him. Respecting the man that he is."
I guess this is the answer that God gave because He knows that MJ was a brilliant man that was childlike all rolled up into one, and because MJ had learned how to embrace it. At the same time, MJ needed others to embrace it with him. It’s nice that the majority of the people in the world were willing to. MJ truly deserved the world’s love and admiration. He worked very hard for it. He gave up his childhood years for it—all of them.
All the recorded songs, countless photos, concerts, videos, magazine interviews, newspaper interviews, television appearances and public appearances are there for us all to look back at because he hardly ever had a moment when he was not working. He worked through his childhood years and through his adulthood years, too.
He was put through a lot of hurtful things. More than the average person could begin to imagine and it was because of a man that was a real monster—someone that should have investigated, but wasn’t. Instead, MJ was jumped on with no questions asked. He was able to endure, though and stayed committed to his goals because he knew that he was a very strong person, and because God is real. MJ knew he was a strong person back in the 1980’s way before everyone else started noticing his strength in the 2000’s.
In MJ's "Leave Me Alone" video he has a flyer attached to a wooden pole that says "Don't Miss World's Strongest Man."
You know how you can tell that the words on the flyer are about him? You can tell, not only because he stood up at the end of the video, and not only because he was dancing on stage with a ball and chain in the video, but because of something that he said when he interviewed another recording artist. When he interviewed Pharrell Williams back in 2003, he said what you see bolded below in this excerpt:
Williams: If I never work with you, just know that you are unstoppable. That’s why I said, when you’re 100 years old and you decide to dip your entire body in chrome, as much as they say things—and I don’t care what they say about you, sir—they’re going to be right there to see it.
Jackson: There’s a lot of jealousy there. I love all races, I love all people, but sometimes there’s a devil in people, and they get jealous. Every time there’s a luminary that goes beyond the heights of his field of endeavor, people tend to get jealous and try to bring him down. But they can’t with me because
I’m very, very, very strong. [laughs] They don’t know that, though.
Williams: They know! Please believe me, they know!
Jackson:
Anybody else would’ve cracked by now; they can’t crack me. I’m very strong.
(If you haven’t already read the whole interview, you can go here:
http://theneptunes.org/the-michael-jackson-pharrell-williams-interview-2003/ . It’s a really sweet one, because MJ is the one conducting the interview.)
Hey, did you hear what MJ did the day he was vindicated back in June 2005? After leaving the courthouse he went home to Neverland, made a sandwich, watched the Three Stooges on television and laughed. That’s what he did after standing up for himself and winning. lol
Gotta love him…

Man oh man... Sorry guys.I tried editing but it's all pretty difficult to figure out on the iPhone. So I'll try saying something about it now but can't promise anything spectacular since I'm fighting technology to do it...lol.
Well...this could be quite a stretch but while reading the lyrics just now something came to mind. When he says he is the moonlight, the moonlight is the suns reflection off of the surface of the moon, not the moons own light. This reminded me of his poem "two birds". While it could very well be referring to God, since the topic of this thread is his love, I'll look at that possibility. If he were inspired by a woman to sing this song and write that poem, then a muse of sorts could be given credit for his light as in the light of the moon. In the next line when he sings that "you are the spring" ,if you think about a spring, spring feed streams..living water... Isn't there scripture about that? I'm getting sidetracked now..it's sounding to me more and more like it's about God ..though...hmmm well I suppose if some of the lyrics could be from the pov of God then it could still make sense from that perspective. Like God saying wasn't it I who said that you are free. Oh I digress... I said I'd look at it as if about his love. It might be pretty boastful if it is about God and MJ being His BEST of joy,so maybe it Is about a lady after all..and if that is the case it's beautiful that he knows he's her "best of joy". It often sounded like he'd lack confidence at times in his life in certain areas and in certain lyrics (I could be wrong) but this song exudes confidence in himself and reassurance to his love. Gently reminding and assuring her that he'll always be there for her and they, together, will always be.."we".
Well I'm tired. Maybe that's enough thoughts for now.
Ape, you're right about MJ's display of confidence in "Best Of Joy." It can definitely be heard in this love song.
I listened to it with head phones on because I wanted to try and figure out some of the things that he is saying near the end of the song. I also wanted to add in these words so we can see them since they are not in the CD cover. I've typed them out and posted them below.
While listening closely to "Best Of Joy" it becomes apparent that this love song is for his lady friend. It ties in with "Someone In The Dark," "Someone Put Your Hand Out," "The Way You Love Me," "This Is It," "Will You Be There," "For All Time," and "Ben Live" that he put at the end of his "Number Ones" CD.
Someone In The Dark – My star secret friend and me
("Best Of Joy" - "I am your friend")
Someone Put Your Hand Out – "The truth is that I'm longing for love that's so divine"
("Best of Joy" - Our love's a sacred thing)
Divine and sacred are one and the same.
Divine:
1. of, like, or from a god, esp. the Supreme Being. 2. addressed or devoted to God or a god; religious;
sacred: divine worship. 3. heavenly; celestial: the divine kingdom. 4. Informal. Extremely good; unusually lovely. 5. being a god; being God. 6. of superhuman or surpassing excellence. 7. Obs. of or pertaining to divinity or theology. –n. 8. a theologian scholar in religion. 9. a priest or cleric. 10. the Divine. a. God b. the spiritual aspect in humans regarded as godly or godlike. –v.t. 11. to discover or declare by divination; prophesy.
Sacred:
1. devoted or dedicated to a deity or to some religious purpose; consecrated. 2. entitled to veneration or religious respect by association with divinity or
divine things; holy. 3. pertaining to or connected with religion (opposed to secular or profane). 4. reverently dedicated to some person, purpose, or object; consecrated: a morning hour sacred to study. 5. regarded with reverence: the sacred memory of a dead hero. 6. secured against violation, infringement, etc. as by reverence or sense of right: sacred oaths.
___________
(I like) The Way You Love Me – "You took away the rain and brought the sunshine"
("Best of Joy" – "You are the spring" and the line "You are the sun that lights up the sky.")
Spring comes after the rainy season ends. It's the time of year when the sun begins to shine again. It is the season between winter and summer. Springtime is warm. Telling her she is the spring and the sun that lights up the sky reveals he was no longer feeling the cold and rain that he was singing about in "Stranger In Moscow."
This Is It – "Falling in love wasn’t my plan" and "I can feel this is real"
("Best of Joy" – What you do it to me for? Won't you do it to me more?)
Will You Be There – "I'll never let you part, for you're always in my heart"
("Best of Joy" - We'll never part. Our love is from the heart.)
For All Time – "Baby, you gotta know. When I say I love you, that's for all time" and the line "And maybe the walls will tumble."
("Best of Joy" – "You know I always will love you" and the line "Wasn't it I who carried you around when all the walls came tumbling down?")
"Ben" live (from his Number Ones CD) – With a friend to call my own, I'll never be alone and you my friend will see you’ve got a friend in me
("Best of Joy" – "I am your friend through thick and thin.")

"BEST OF JOY"
(w/additional lyrics)
I am your joy
Your best of joy
I am the moonlight
You are the spring
Our love's a sacred thing
You know I always will love you
I am forever
I am the one who came when you fell down
I was the only one around (the only one)
When things were hurting you
I am forever
Wasn't it I who said that you are free?
When living seemed so hard to be
And things were hurting you
I am forever (I am forever)
We are forever (We are forever)
I am your friend
Through thick and thin
We need each other
We'll never part
Our love is from the heart
We never say I don't need you
We are forever
I am the one who said that you are free
When living seemed so hard to be (the only one)
And nothing would cheer you
I am forever
Wasn't it I who carried you around?
When all the walls came tumbling down
When things would hurt you
I am forever (I am forever)
We are forever (We are forever)
You are the sun that lights up the sky
When things are shady
Let come what may we do get by
I was the only one around (the only one)
When things would hurt you
We are forever (I am forever)
We are forever (I am forever)
Uh-huh
We are forever
What you do it to me for?
We are forever
Won't you do it to me more?
I can keep you strong
We are forever (forever)
Ooooooo
Won’t you do it?
Alright
We are forever
Uh-huh
Won't you do it?
Alright
I am forever (forever)
Oooooooo
(whistling)
I am forever
Uh-huh
Awwwww
Alright
We are forever
Ooooooo
We are forever
Eeeeeeee
Awwwww
I am forever
Ooooooo
I am forever
(fade out)
It's being said online that "Best of Joy" is one of the very last songs that MJ was working on for his "This Is It" concerts series.
From listening to this love song, he's revealing that he was there for her just as much as she was there for him, and because of this, he was certain that their love was the type of love that would last. His tone of voice, his lyrics and his music reveals he was very happy. "Best of Joy" is also affirming what I was trying to point out below in Sept. 2008.
AllForMJ;1613928 said:
Love is being expressed by the two of them...from her to him...from him to her. This is what he is saying in "For All Time" when he says "two hearts belong so well." This is also why the tone of the love songs he's been releasing since "Invincible" sound so different. The tone of the love songs have changed. The sound of doubt is no longer present.
Yep, you hit the nail directly on the head. It's nice that you can hear MJ's confidence in "Best of Joy."
With all the other CDs that MJ had his hand in from start to finish, beginning from "Number Ones" up to "Thriller 25," he is revealing that he was trying really hard to pull away from his pain. This is why when we look at his long list of songs that he selected for his "Ultimate Collections" box set that tells a musical story about his life, the majority of his songs that are on the HIStory CD like Scream, and the others like it, are not in the box set. He didn’t even put "Leave Me Alone" from his "Bad" album into the box set.
Although his current album is an excellent one, we still must keep in mind that the songs that are on it were not solely selected by MJ. The album was completed with the help of others. But, since MJ did originally place "The Way You Love Me" in his box set back in 2004, and because he did recently record some new love songs, like "Best of Joy", they are tying into the thread.
Also, from listening to "Best of Joy," MJ is revealing he was the type of man that wanted his woman to need him. If he knew he was needed, it made it easier for him to do loving things for her from his heart and feel safe doing so. It allowed him to be him and to use his strength for her. From listening to what he said at the beginning of "For All Time," he wanted her to know that she could lean on him if she needed to.
From looking at the way that MJ was singing to her before the trial, through the trial, and following the trial, those two were really hanging in there with each other, and it seems to be what MJ liked the most and why he sounds so decisive while letting her know he's there for her. If she hung in there with him during a tough time in his life like the trial, then he knew she truly cared. He could tell his heart was safe with her and this is most likely why he is singing the line "Our love is from the heart." That's how love is supposed to be. It is supposed to be able to nourish both individuals as God intended it to, and MJ liked the way that it felt. That's what was being revealed when his "Love Never Felt So Good" demo surfaced. He was happy about being in love again. Thank God love travels.
Happy Belated Valentine's Day, everyone!
