This discussion always has an incredible brilliance.
Thank you all for reading this.

Here is my contribution

And because I also beg ...
And because, as human, I also error and often regret instead of asking for wisdom to understand why my pain
So my favorite is Psalm 51

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.

4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are proved right when you speak
and justified when you judge.

5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts ;
you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.

7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

9 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
and sinners will turn back to you.

14 Save me from bloodguilt, O God,
the God who saves me,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

15 O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare your praise.

16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise.

18 In your good pleasure make Zion prosper;
build up the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then there will be righteous sacrifices,
whole burnt offerings to delight you;
then bulls will be offered on your altar.

Ash, THANK YOU for Psalm 121 and most especially for that amazing painting. I saved it, truly breathtaking. I can only pray and hope one blessed day my soul will get to that wonderful moment with the Lord.

Lully, you are most welcome :)

Rubi, thank you as well for contributing with Psalm 51. Verse 9 actually reminds of a beautiful prayer during mass - "Lord, look not at our sins, but at the faith of Thy Church and give it unity and peace, according to Thy will, You who live and reign for ever and ever."

I need to post three paintings now: Caravaggio's "The calling of Saint Matthew", Tiziano's "The mocking of Christ" and an unknown author doing a wonderful depiction of the Resurrection.

callingofstmatthewcarav.jpg

At times, we may think we are not capable of certain tasks, but the Lord knows who and when to call to do His job. Each and every one of you, listen closely as He tells ya what His mission for you in this life and on this earth is. For Him it is terribly important, it should also be for you.

tizianomockingofchrist.jpg

As Isaiah foretold "He was crushed for our inequities...by His wounds WE ARE HEALED".

rosariomisterigloriosir.jpg

The single, greatest event in human history - the moment when death and sin were defeated once and for all.

And since i feel this post would not be complete without some music, i'd like to share with u kind people two of my favorite U2 songs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqFXZMdpMuk For those of you who might be feeling down - Stuck in a moment. Bono actually said at the time this was their best song to date. I still think One rules. Apparently he had wrote it for the nanny of his children who had passed away; I am sure we can all use it every now and then though.

Second one is Beautiful day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8w7f0ShtIM It actually contains some of my favorite lyrics of all time: you've been all over and it's been all over you; after the flood, the colors came out. I couldn't think of any better song to welcome the sunrise. On second thought Celine's "A new day has come" and Duran Duran's "Reach up for the sunrise" are pretty good contenders as well.

I most probably won't see you till 2010, so allow me to wish you ALL (the contributors to the thread, the lurkers and even the 'hataz' out there - cause Ape said at some point that this thread was being mocked on some other sites) a BLESSED NEW YEAR. Peace and love people, peace and love, that's what it's all about, within ourselves, for each other and amongst nations.

wow this thread is still going strong :-o interesting subject *puts on readingglasses*

Well, looking back, 2009 started out with so much hope, so much excitement, and it is ending ... I dunno ... kinda weird (and that's putting it very mildy since I'm trying desperately not to be negative, which I really, really could be since this was a very negative year for many - including myself). What a strange year (and I will leave it at that). I am thankful for all of my blessings in '09 and I am also thankful that it is ending.

Well, here's hoping 2010 will be at least a little better?:worried: (Good God, Please!)

Is this some sort of sign, Lord? If it is, I hope it's a good one!

Awesome video Susie. Truly heartwarming. It begins with some frightful, but unfortunately so very real images of the plight of children all over the world, but it continues with beautiful examples of
Michael's pure love and dedication
to them. Among them features my favorite ever pic of his - the one where he explains something to the lil boy who sits in the same way as he, i think that is such a precioussss moment. :)

Oh and Susie, also thanks for the the copyright encouragement earlier lol.

Everybody, i'm glad u enjoyed the links and everything.

Awww, thanks so much for Ash for your kind words and the lovely picture you posted.

I just wanna go back a bit to Mos Def's song cause I really think his lyrics are so awesome and so terribly important. I ain't no perfect [wo]man, i'm tryin to do the best that I can, with what it is I have. I can totally agree with him. I'm kinda extreme when it comes to just about everything. When I was younger, I mistankenly took balance and composure for mediocrity (mom and life taught me better), but I cannot help but prefer mediocrity when it comes to being good, rather than excellence at being evil. Thankfully, most of mankind fits into the first category. If only we would all realise it sooner rather than later, wouldn't this world truly be a better place?

And since yall might me missin some pictures, since I haven't posted any before lol, I got a few of them from my pilgrimage to Rome last year. Goin over them I saw that I had already shared one previously in this thread – the table cloth with 'life is fragile, handle with prayer'.

Michaelangelo's Pieta, I ain't gotta tell ya.

And a reminder that God's glory shines the brightest in the plight of our fellow human beings. Michael knew that very well and he applied it throughout his life, as the vid Susie posted demonstrated so beautifully. This woman was sitting near Fontana di Trevi, you've all seen it, if only in Fellini movies or on the tv. If one in every ten of the people who threw coins into the fountain would have payed that poor woman any attention.......
pietancora.jpg

And to close this off on a less serious note: we are getting are praise on and that's mighty important, matter of fact it don't get ANY more important than that, but let us not forget AllforMJ's promise. *whistles......then whispers....All4MJ, where u @, homegirl? 2010 is upon us and u still haven't posted, posted, posted, posted...goes the echo*. Just playin' yall. God bless. One God, one light - as Mos Def sang.

P.S. Sorry for the size of them pics.

Although many have an idea how important children have always been to Mr.Jackson, some even made that idea of importance into something ugly...

Keeping this in mind:

Society really and truly have absolutely NO comprehension on Mr.Jackson's unequivocal passion and dedication to helping Children, The Sick, The Poor, and Mother Earth.

Therefore:

Although, not all of his original composition (s), reflection of thought (s) are autobiographical. However, what many DO NOT realize a large percent of them are. He wrote, sang about what he truly felt in his heart, mind, and soul...

On that note: I absolutely LOVE/ADORE Michaelangelo, the Arts, Museums, HIStory. The woman in the photo is certainly a Kodak Mr.Jackson moment. Be still my heart~~~

Pleased to here that you had a wonderful learning experience.

Thank You for sharing and your very welcome.

Thanks! Do not worry that God is always looking for us. Storms never last forever in our lives. God is looking for you.

Thanks again for the beautiful pictures. You've heard of the "Aleijadinho"? He's been a very, very, very talented Brazilian sculptor. All his work is in the city of Minas Gerais (Brazil). I do not know if you find something in English about it. Perhaps in books on art. This is one of his works:

Last Supper

Life is a cycle. Everything has a beginning, middle and end. 2009 came to an end. I'm sure 2010 will be a great year with many accomplishments and achievements. No doubt about it...

"There are moments in people's lives, that we wonder why things are so. It is in these moments, we stopped to reflect on the real meaning of things... thus discovering the certainties and uncertainties of life that has carried us ever since. Interestingly enough, it is not just a matter of revising the principles, but is reviewing the issue yourself, who you become in how you interact with people, wondering why things are so does not help at all if you do not show yourself to brilliance, his strength, his determination, his charisma, his high spirits, his vigor, his youth. It is not enough to show yourself, you should grab it with everything, and prove to everybody what you can and HOW you are willing to face his fears and his blunder head up, chest open, without fear, without precepts without forgetting who you really are that as you really want to be. It is with this thought that you open the doors of yourself for your true self show everyone who is in and open that door, too, is that you can bring in, interact with the outside world, absorbing things. At such times, one must be aware and create a filter to drain all the bad and absorb only the good, the pleasant, sweet. If you can wake up every morning with the twinkle in his eye, ready to face your fears, and slap the enemies, you can get yourself and the others all that you dream all you want. It is the ability to fall in love every day is what makes us grow wings and take flight toward the more distant places, more beautiful. Fire innocent eyes of a child, the brightness curious, is what we have to manage to dream, live, laugh and grow." :cheeky:

And...

I want to wish a Happy New Year! :wild:

I wish that 2010 be a great year for us all... and will be! I'm sure of it! :D

O.k. I'm holding you to it! And if it isn't ... you are going to be in BIG trouble!:D

BTW, cool "Last Supper" sculpture!

BIG trouble? Noooooo! Never! You know that. God is always by your side and will guide you to all the good things. Be sure. So, be very prepared for 2010 to receive a lot of accomplishments and achievements! :wild:

Remember:

"We've all had, one way or another, difficult experiences in life. This is part of our journey from this earth - and although we often think that "things could have happened otherwise" - the fact is we can not change our past.

On the other hand, is a lie to think that everything that happens has its good side, there are things which cause very difficult to overcome, wounds that bleed a lot.

How, then, get rid of our bitter experiences?

There is only one way: living the present. Understanding that although we can not change the past, we can change the next hour, what will happen during the afternoon, the decisions to be taken before bedtime.

As the old proverb hippie saying: "Today is the first day of the rest of my life."

(Paulo Coelho - Brazilian writer) :cheeky:

P.S. "Aleijadinho" was a great man and a very talented artist. He exceeded all limits and became a great sculptor. His story is incredible, but at the same time very sad.

2009 is ending! - Thanks God.

2010 is welcome, (please don't let me down, I'm counting on "you".)

I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR with health, many blessings ... God bless us :)

Ash Aleijadinho is amazing! thanks!

PS: MP I'm very hopeful, God's giving us a new opportunity to renew us!

Lully Thanks!

I loooooooove all animals on the planet! I loooooooooved this picture.

This picture shows that the animals convey feelings with each other: peace and love. In 2 animals (species - dove and ape) completely different, but there are peacefully sharing the same space. And I think that this is so different between humans, with animals who do not speak and do not think this is possible, live peacefully in peace and love? So I believe that all animals have feelings, express themselves through them each in their way and communicate to each other.

I could not resist this "off topic", I had to say something about it. lol! :D

Ow Ash I'm glad you liked it, as soon as I saw this pic I thought that NOTHING should be greater than the LOVE, not even the differences. And the first thing I said was, "awwwwwww how beatiful!" LOL

Lully: I have that picture hanging on a bulletin board in my office at work and I captioned it "Everyone needs a hug once in a while" :) It's so precious. Animals sure can teach humans a fews things about LOVE, unconditional and without expectations, simply beautiful and pure.

No matter how we make our requests to God. He always knows what is in our hearts. He watches us all the time and has the power to see what we are feeling at all times. Therefore, He will always know what we want and our desires. He ALWAYS knows everything. :)

I agree. I rarely go to Church these days but I certainly grew up in it being in private school and so on, I think today I have just grown into speaking to Him in my own way. I've also opened myself up and read about spirituality through the views of something other than what I was raised believing and knowing. There is one thing most all that I have studied agree on, there is something greater than us all in the universe and I know my soul is connected to it, somehow, someway. I'm learning something new about life every day, but I certainly feel and sense His guidance through many things, especially signs. Like not too long ago when I went in my backyard, it was 5:00am, the sky was filled with stars, the air was so still no breeze at all and my wooden rocking swing was swaying back and forth like someone was swinging in it. Who was it? I dunno, maybe my Guardian Angel knew I needed a visit. :) I feel He gives to me without my asking, because He just knows. He knows what's embedded in my heart and soul. I believe I have my destiny, but certainly something greater in this universe is here as my guide along the way. :)

There was a verse posted a while back that I remembered when reading the past few current pages in this thread that is very telling to me.

Matthew 6:6

  • But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.(NIV)
:)

I dreamt this song last night that was sung so loud and visually clear in my dream and it kinda threw me when I woke up because I haven't listened to in quite a while. imo Dreams always have meaning. I'm still figuring this one out, but I do know there's a reason why I dreamt it. There's a reason for everything in life. :) It's a beautiful song called "Shape Of My Heart" by Chris Botti, Sting and Josh Groban.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpYYJgvgDmo

Time to go now but I leave you with this quote from a card I received. It reminds me to always LIVE.....

DANCE like there's no one watching,
SING like no one's listening,
LOVE like you've never been hurt,
and LIVE like it's heaven on earth.

Take care everyone. Happy LOVE filled New Years to each of you. :flowers:

Lully thanks again! :D

Lily Beautiful post! Besides God is the master who guides all things to us, we have the angels. I believe in angels and that they exist. I think it's God's little helpers that are close to us all the time.

anjos410.jpg

"Angels (extracted from a Brazilian site): Angels are born. They are heavenly creatures created by God. They are real beings, individual, and have other material assets. The angels are older and wiser than humans, because only serve God from the beginning of creation.

Since those early days, the ancient Babylonians for their cultural knowledge, believed that the gods had a board of smaller servers that would be the messengers and larger servers.

To them fit the function of protecting the rivers, mountains, forests, animals and humans. And in particular, are more servers for special people like those rulers of nations.

The word angel means messenger and refers sometimes the human person that doubles as a messenger, led by the angel.

Angels are mentioned in the sacred books of various religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, always mediating between God and men. When angels appear when it is in order to protect a demonstration of God's love to men."

And as you but there is something greater than ourselves that we do not see, but feel through events in our lives, in good times/bad that something more at work in our lives.:angel:

Thanks for the song "Shape Of My Heart" by Chris Botti, Sting and Josh Groban. This song is beautiful! :wild:

Well, I want to again wish you a Happy New Year to everyone and share this video (I love Abba!!! :wild:)... I hope you like (I have not learned how to post videos! -_- Lol!)

Also, welcome back, Safira! You were missed :)

Happy New Year, everyone!

... So, be very prepared for 2010 to receive a lot of accomplishments and achievements! :wild:

PS: MP I'm very hopeful, God's giving us a new opportunity to renew us!

Well, what I had said last night, but my post didn't go through unfortuantely, was that the past few years (especially this past year) have taught me so much that I have decided that in this new year I will simply: believe for the best, do my best and let God do whatever He wills with the rest. It's gonna be what He wants it to be anyway. Thy will be done, right?

I'm trying to think more grown up, mature, balanced and realistic this new year instead of living in Fantasy Land and trying to make things be the way that I would like them to be, although this for me is very hard, especially after all of the disappointments of this past year. I guess you feel like you want to be compensated or something (and I know I will in God's perfect time). However, that being said, I think the past few years have matured me to the point that I have decided to adopt the "Serenity Prayer" for this new year - and I think for the rest of the years to come. I think it says it all:

p.s. Thanks also for all the lovely pics, especially the one with the monkey, Lully! I love monkeys! I bet you thought MJ was the only one (well, technically what he had was a chimpanzee, but who's keeping score, right?).

I like that song, "If I Had a Million Dollars." I especially like the part where the guy says, "I'd buy you a monkey. Haven't you always wanted a monkey?" ha! ha! I think of MJ every time he says that! I also think of Elvis. Didn't he also have a monkey? He even sings about buying the elephant man bones! Silly song, eh?

Well, Happy New Year All!

Just to add... for you:

"Accepted wisdom with the fact that the road is full of contradictions. There are moments of joy and despair, confidence and lack of faith, but it's worth moving forward... ALWAYS"

"The pain has taught me that...
The best moments in life are not necessarily the nicest. They are the most significant in the cocktail life of dreams and nightmares, the lights and shadows, the laughter and tears, the presence and absence of pain and love experienced... Odd moments that we awaken the lethargic sleep of indifference and impel us to creative action, forcing us to fashion a new being - sensitive and loving - less attached to trivial things and more committed to the core values of this precious gift called life. Walking is necessary, even if it is on fire... "

"Life presents difficult problems. But the difficulty is overcome problem solved. Never be discouraged: you are so valiantly to overcome any problems that arise. If the problem is complex, divide it into parts and beat each of them separately. But never be discouraged! A good word, a smile, encouraging a thought constructor are often the starting point for big wins. If you see sadness or concern, seek help. If you can not act, talk. If you can not speak, at least think strongly longing for happiness and will reach its goal. "

"Believe in your ideals, trust in life. Struggles in difficult times gives rare wisdom, which reveal eternal truths. Things do not change and that continually insist on a slow adjustment process. Why is life so one day is lost and the other is won, only to remember: you have to learn again. Eternals apprentices, and is "funny" look at everything that happened and get strong for what is yet to come, be brave, to persist in a way, beat expectations , again. there is much more to life than meets the eye, so to expect that he'll run with patience, love, with humility. Why would anyone go somewhere else without first go their own ways, to dream their own dreams. And if what we seek is beyond our horizons, after all, have wondered what he sought and found that this search is not to distant realms, as the biggest breakthrough is right here, is a matter of knowing the world that exists within us. "

OMG!! awwww that pic of the monkey & bird....im nearly in tears! so cuteeee

Your recent pictures and bible verses of God, and Love posted in this thread gave me the feeling of wanting to reexamine an important piece of work from Michael.

Remember the poem, "Love" from "Dancing the Dream"?

We have already posted and discussed and interpreted his words but have you sat down and really took notice of the picture used for this poem in particular? It's on page 66.

It is a beautiful picture of Michael. He is not smiling, he looks somber and somewhat saddened. Have you paid attention to what is on his forehead? It is Cupid, and cupid isn't alone. Cupid has a visible shadow( Revealing Two) that I do not believe I had ever noticed before. In Cupid's left hand is an unlit torch and a bolt of light with very tiny stars emerging from the left hand.

This reveals, even though as the poem suggest, Michael had a love and lost her, he still had love for the two of them together, very much on his mind. ( Hence why, the cupids are at the center of his forehead)The Two Cupids, confirm, the 2 of them equaled one love. The bolt of light with the tiny stars reveals, how he still was hopeful and believed in the magic of their love.

Do you see what elese the photo reveals?

2 more things:

There is a large visible crack underneath his right eye. Could it be representative of a Tear?
The poem "Love" allows us to see how Michael came to terms with letting her fly and be free. Wouldn't that bring you to tears if you truly loved someone with all of your heart and soul and you had to for whatever reason, let go of them and what you had together, when in your heart and mind, you knew this was suppose to be forever?

What is the second thing noticed from the pic?

The cracks on his chest area. Could the cracks indicate the pain in his heart and how broken he felt over the loss of his "love"? The cracks also reveal something elese about Michael's strength. Even though, he felt broken inside, he was not completely shattered.
His heart in the photo remain held together .

And the very last words of the poem are?

"As long as Love is in my heart, it's everywhere". Michael Jackson 1992

What is the next poem after this very revealing, sweet and small find?

"God". Page 69

Which again confirms, when Michael needs direction he has often looked to a higher being for the answer.
