Not sure if this has been discussed already or not...
I have a question the about "This Is It" lyrics...I can be a bit deep at times so bare with me...
What are your thoughts on what Mr.Jackson meant by saying "seems like I have known you for a thousand years~~~"
From cosmic energy? Like they have met before? twin souls?
Intriguing...to say the least
:angel:Heal The World...WE Are The World...Knowledge IS Growth...Education IS The Key~~~
I interpret it as they knew each other in another lifetime until unexpectedly in the present when it became real. imo It doesn't sound like someone he's known. The word "seems" makes me feel like he is unsure or questioning if he has seen/met her before and possibly in what capacity. Maybe he saw her in person briefly, or she came to him in dreams a vision sent from something greater than us all, or maybe after all his encounters with women he envisioned the true love he was looking for? Someone he had imagined all these years that became a reality and when they met it just clicked. Like one of those "ah ha, I get it moments", when you just meet someone but feel like you've known them forever. Sounds to me like 2 kindred spirits/soulmates that have been brought together by destiny.
"Like it was written in stars, I knew....."
Makes me think back to a post a long time ago that I didn't remember reading back when it was posted on 5/1 but I saw it as I was reading back through the thread and found it interesting.
Hate to make this love story even more complicated than it already is, but then again, why not?
What if the two people in this love story are seeing each other in their dreams, but when they wake up, only one of them remembers the encounter - I'm talking specifically, Michael! After all, in his songs he talks about how vivid and "real" his dreams are, but what if it isn't that way for her? What if she wakes up and actually, for whatever reason, doesn't remember a thing? I mean, in her waking hours she may know she loves Michael and everything, but what if she is unaware that she has been visiting him in her dreams?
Perhaps this ability was given to him only so that he could get to know her better since she probably isn't famous; but she wasn't given the ability to see him vividly and remember the encounter because she already knows him anyways since he is already famous. She wouldn't need to see Michael in her dreams. She can see him anytime.
I think this could lead to a lot of confusion and pain. Michael might have thought she rejected him or found another love when she didn't immediately come forward, but maybe that wasn't it at all. Maybe she just didn't know this was happening.
Makes me think about when I wondered if it's possible to dream someone to life. Pretty fascinating to think about. Anythings possible, right?
But I think the bros referred to them as "lightning bugs" instead of fireflies (or glow worms). I think back home in Indiana is where they would see them. How fun.
That'll teach me to watch something when I'm half awake, I'm repeating the wrong words. :worried:
We called fireflies "lightning bugs" when I was younger too. Pretty cool that when they glow they can be a few different colors. Nature is magical and truly fascinating to watch.
