Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

The other aspect to this film, is that it will be used by Finaldi and co as a 4-hour advertisement for their law practice. They are surely hoping that more complainants will come forward, if not related to MJ, then certainly in relation to other cases. I'm sure that the 'Q and A' is also a publicity stunt, and that (if R and S appear) the questions will have been carefully staged, and the answers carefully rehearsed for 'press quotability'. I hope that MJ fans don't turn up and 'throw rotten tomatoes' or whatever, as this would just give the press more to write about, and will add more fuel to the publicity fire.

Actually, I think that R and S's claims regarding MJ are so completely outlandish, that they are more likely to prevent other people from coming forward (in relation to other cases). If you think that grounds for a legal complaint are ' 7 years of rape' or 'a wedding ceremony' then one incident of inappropriate photography or touching might hardly (to a young and genuine victim) seem worth mentioning!

I've seen that some news outlets are saying that R and S have not been paid for their appearance in this film. However, I'm sure they are likely to have received plenty of free legal services from Finaldi and Co. I also wouldn't be surprised if their family members (mothers and sibs) who are also said to be appearing in the film , might have been paid.

As regards the UK tabloid coverage, I was amused to see that one of the main offenders, which always picks up adverse MJ stories, is the Daily Mail (Daily Fail as it is more commonly known). The Daily Mail is currently complaining about a new app ('News Guard') which 'labels' online news outlets according to their reliability. The Daily Mail online has apparently been labelled by this app. as 'Fails to maintain basic standards of accuracy and accountability'. LOL.

Agreed, when I heard R&S weren't being paid I immediately considered how they were being indirectly paid, and free legal assistance would be one of them IMO.

As for the news app, well the Daily Mail brought it on themselves. About time they raised their standards, I'm just glad others are pointing out their poor performance. Sadly they still have plenty of die hard believers. You just need to read their comments section.

I've posted to correct basic factual errors in the reporting, quoted legal documents, pointed posters in the direction of them. I have spoon fed them with the information and what response do I get? Abuse. Being told to "research the facts" and "realise the truth", even being called a troll (LOL) by people quoting the $200million dollar settlement against 20+ boys, child porn images, incriminating FBI files, and other fantasies published in the tabloids etc is beyond galling.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

So wade is doing a q&a bout what excatly......god hes dumb

I agree!!!! He's an idiot!!!!

First Question For Robson: WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ALL OF THIS WHEN YOU WERE ON THE WITNESS STAND?

Second Question For Robson: WHY DID YOU TESTIFY FOR THE DEFENSE AND NOT THE PROSECUTION?

Third Question For Robson: WERE YOU LYING THEN, OR ARE YOU LYING NOW?

In my opinion, there is no way he can answer any of those questions and have his answers make sense.

He claims he had a repressed memory..

Kind of like this https://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/oct/20/thomas-quick-bergwall-sweden-murder

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

He claims he had a repressed memory..

OMG!!! That's not what he said to Matt Lauer.

He told Lauer that "his is NOT a case of repressed memory." He went on to say that "he never forgot what MJ did to him."

If he changed his story from "Not Repressed Memory" to "Repressed Memory," his behind will be toast during the Q&A.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

No he doesn't claim repressed memory, although that was what was initially discussed on here I think. Even he realises that excuse isn't going to convince anybody when the one thing he's been asked about his whole life is his relationship with MJ. Kind of impossible to suppress a memory in those circumstances.

His current claim is something like this....he ALWAYS remembered his abuse but was emotionally unable to process it or realise that he had been abused.

so, as a 20 something adult in 2005 he apparently didn't realise the horrific incidents he describes in his legal filings were abusive. REALLY!?!
Even in 2008, when he was happily having a family barbecue with MJ and his kids, he apparently didn't realise he had been abused.
In fact he didn't realise he had been abused until he reached almost 30 years old(!)

What's that I smell? Oh yes, it's bull.

If he sits in a Q&A and tries to explain his position I REALLY HOPE there is a knowledgable MJ fan there to turn up the pressure on him and challenge him on his claim.

Christ, I'd imagine most sensible people would have trouble believing his explanation on that point.

Yep, and I'm hoping somebody is there to call him out on his testifying for the defense, UNDER OATH, instead of the prosecution. His dancing in that MTV MJ Tribute, with Janet. And his support for MJ over the last 20+ years.

Now wouldn't that just be PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

there are many documented cases of children who were abused and denied for years, even in adulthood, until finally brought to light. For many children who were abused, the abuse was carried out by someone close to their family, so they have to deal with feelings of love and hate for that person at the same time. love because it is someone who takes care of you and treats you well (most abusers are charming with children, give them games, get involved with them until they have total confidence and children come to love them very much), on the other hand they hate what they He does that abuser but they think that if he is doing it a person who loves them can not be so bad, they enter into a very difficult mental contradiction.
On the other hand, as abusers are people who are wanted by the abused they feel that they let themselves be abused and feel bad about it,
and often do not want to harm that person they want for something that "they let themselves be done",
They are also afraid to tell their truth and to spoil the relationship of the abuser with the family (if this is very close) and if the abuser is too loved or respected they do not want to be the ones who destroy that because they feel responsible for part of the abuse .
They are all contradictory and internal feelings that many children abused as a result of abuse have and continue into adulthood if they are not treated, this explains why many abused have been unable to tell their abuse until decades later, even if they have denied it.
This issue is very delicate and difficult because not all abused children have hated and accused their abusers from the beginning, this usually happens when the abuser is a stranger or does not belong to the family, but if the abuse is on the part of a relative who has treated you well and is someone very close who is considered as a family everything is complicated because children come into contradiction because on the one hand the abuser treats them well and on the other abuses them and It is so confused for them and they feel guilty about tell the truth

if there are experts in the documentary they will explain it, in this way it is explained that wade has even defended it. On the other hand James never defended, he said in his lawsuit that he refused to defend him in the trial and did not want any contact with him because in 2005 he knew that Michael had used him as a child and did not want to know anything about him, James is much easier to explain everything. he simply denounced his cause as an adult, when he felt strong. but the subject of wade defending him in the trial will be explained by the psychologists for sure. for those who do not know anything about michael it is very easy to believe them both, even if wade denied everything in the trial, because the subject of the abuse is very complex and the victims react in different ways according
if the abuser is very loved by the people or not, if it has treated them well or not ... it is all very complex.

I only know that psychologists and experts can easily explain those things, so I do not know how a replica of questions and answers could be caught by wade, it all depends on what the documentary explains

They are also afraid to tell their truth and to spoil the relationship of the abuser with the family (if this is very close) and if the abuser is too loved or respected they do not want to be the ones who destroy that because they feel responsible for part of the abuse since they were left. That's all very well and fine, except how does one explain all the subsequent lies, cover ups, story changes.

They're not gonna talk about that in the doc and literally nobody will go looking for that info after they watch it.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

By TMZ:

Wade Robson, the man featured in the upcoming Michael Jackson documentary, "Leaving Neverland," says his endgame is not necessarily to mute MJ.

We got Robson at LAX Thursday AM and asked him about the film that will make its debut Friday at the Sundance Film Festival. He says the reason he got involved goes beyond his allegations against the singer ... he says the point is to raise awareness.

Robson along with James Safechuck are the centerpieces of the doc. Both men say MJ befriended them as children and molested them.

The MJ Estate has gone on the attack, calling both men liars, but Robson says he doesn't care.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

you have to catch them in those lies, that is,
you can not claim that :
"wade defended him in the trial" because that has a psychological explanation, and because "he denied everything in the past" because that may have an explanation, you must go to concrete things, proof that they lie, proof that they are looking for money

how's about shopping for a book deal before speaking with law enforcement and lying about not knowing who MJ estate were despite doing interviews talking about directing their Cirque show.

there's enough mistakes out there to prove this is absolute nonsense and shouldn't be treated any other way. the guy is on camera after his supposed realisation defending MJ. fact is this 'abuse' never happened. Wade turned down choreography jobs because he thought he could be a filmmaker. that flopped so here we are. Robson, Safechuck, arvizo, chandler all end up at the same result -> $$$$$

UNBELIEVABLE:

Michael Jackson’s furious mum branded her son a ‘damn f****t’ after suspecting star’s child abuse YEARS before first victims spoke out, LaToya Jackson revealed in rare footage

GUYS, we have to comment such articles more than ever before!!!!!
Do not let the people read only this:

I have to say. it’s encouraging to see Sundance staff standing strong behind the filmmakers. Anyone who lived through the MJ years know for a fact he was a twisted, body-bleaching weirdo that gave children booze (Jesus Juice) and slept in the same bed with them. He was acquitted after the victims’ families received over 12 million dollars, BTW. He could have used the money to defend himself but paid them off instead. And now a whole new generation is worshipping at the feet of Jackson’s ghost because the family spends their days sanitizing his legacy. He was a straight-up creep who died in an illegal drug haze, surrounded by circus animals. Yet, just like Roman Polanski, his sexual sins were forgiven because he made money for the suits.

??????????????

Its getting me mad if MJ fans are pathetically soft and want to argue with this:
he was an extraordinary artist and a loving human being. long live the king.

WHAT???

STOP PRAISING MICHAEL THIS WAY, we have to be FACTUAL, strict and in defence, not look like MJs *****s

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

how's about shopping for a book deal before speaking with law enforcement and lying about not knowing who MJ estate were despite doing interviews talking about directing their Cirque show.

AND how about DANCING, in a Huge MTV MJ Tribute, with your "so-called" abuser's sister!??!

Wade was dancing his little heart out during that Tribute, and he was delighted to be there. He even went on and on as to how happy he was to be included. Thanking MTV. Thanking Janet. Thanking all the other dancers. Thanking anybody who had anything to do with that Tribute!!

Wade Robson has left a LONG LINE OF PRAISE, I really don't see how they are going to overcome all of that praising. Unless they just avoid it completely, which, in my opinion, would be very hard to do.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

If hes claiming that hes changed his story from when he first came out. He claimed it wasnt repressed.he knew what had happened but didnt know what sexual abuse was until he hit 30 then suddenly realised (like you do!!). You would have thought pure and innocent wade who obviously lived under a rock his whole lfe and missed out on sex education at school would have realised what abuse was when zonen was cross examining him on the stand in 05.

If you let yourself get wound up by tabloid articles and the comments underneath them then you’ll never be able to rest easy.

There will ALWAYS these sorts of stories about MJ and the gullible fools who believe them.

The documentary is potentially very damaging, but tabloid articles will always be there. It’s not worth even reading them.

It all depends how it’s positioned in the doc. We all know they are going to give Wade’s side of the story only, not give any of the context, explore any of Wade’s previous denials in any great detail. They won’t expose Wade’s changing stories, or the fact he shopped for a book deal or the fact these allegations surfaced not long after he was overlooked for the creative director position on the MJ Cirque show and subsequently has a nervous breakdown that was actually related to his professional career issues.

This will be a whitewash and framed in a way where MJ will come out as badly as possible.

Plus, let’s not forget that Wade owes the Estate $100,000 in legal fees (if I recall correctly?).

After getting past the emotional reaction stage, I feel this movie will be a joke. Any normal person will see Wade is full of sh!t. His body language speaks volumes. I can’t speak about Safchuck but that fact he didn’t testify in 05 speaks volumes. Hang in there friends it will be a bumpy ride for a bit but this too shall pass.

I really hope so and I tend to agree. This too shall pass. We had 6 months of MJ’s trial with daily news coverage. This may make a splash for a day or two and then will hopefully pass.

There might be a ripple this weekend, and then again when it airs on tv, but I'm hopeful people will see through this eejit. I have faith.

Let’s hope but I feel this film will be cleverly done in a way to make people feel sympathetic. However the truth will always prevail 🙏

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Honestly not much would come from the documentary, my beef is almost more in how sundance and hbo can give a film like this such a platform.. the doc itself will cause it's own damage from lack of facts..

I think people are trying what's going on in Hollywood, r kelly and all to Michael's allegations and it builds fear within the mj fan base .. but in the end of the day, the BIG difference is lack of evidence.

There is physical proof on r kelly and others.. with mike, there is litterally ONLY claims.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

What the hell is that shit from The Sun? I knew about Latoya years and years ago, wasn't it her then at the time boyfriend making her come with those allegations? This is the first time I'm reading that MJ was called the f word by his own mother. The Sun is some real trash, but what else is new.

Is it surprising though. The medias agenda against mj has gone on for decades. They are very happy to give airtime to anyone who will accuse or has negativity to spread.anything that will support their agenda is pushed by those at the top of the establishment in their quest to use mj as a diversion and whipping boy.hence why there is no point there been any counter documentry unless a large mainstream media outlet is prepared to promote it and air it. Good luck with that.
