Cirque du Soleil 'Michael Jackson ONE' permanent Las Vegas show

By the way Bubs, I did briefly speak to John Branca and asked him your question about future projects. He was polite but a bit vague (as I expected him to be, didn't expect him to give me any details. LOL) But he did say they were working on ideas and had some in mind and did mention something planned for October, although again no details. There were so many people waiting to see him, that I couldn't hang around. Sorry its not much.

At least you tried, thank you:yes:

Something planned for October? Could be something Thriller stuff as isn't Halloween celebrated on Oct? Thriller 3D?

It also could be Spike's OTT docu out then, but he said this to one fan:
I just met Spike Lee in person at the Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson event today. I asked him how the documentary is going and he told me it's going well and he just wrapped up interviews for it yesterday.

So there might be editing and stuff to do before it can be released so October release might be too early?

Anyways, back to waiting mode:timer:

Hello MJFam!

First of all, a huge thank you from the Estate of Michael Jackson to everyone who attended Michael’s birthday festivities at Michael Jackson ONE in Las Vegas this past weekend. The Estate team wanted you to know that they and their guests could all feel the wonderful energy you brought to the theater. The Estate and Cirque are already excited about next year and, in addition to expressing gratitude for your support at this year’s celebration, wanted to let everyone know that they are already thinking about the plans for next year’s birthday weekend experience. It is too early to announce anything now, but we encourage everyone to buy tickets early for next year’s birthday celebration. The Estate looks forward to seeing even more of you there!

Best,

MJOnline The Official Online Team of The Michael Jackson Estate™

Thanks for the report, Sarah. So I guess no one overheard anything about a definite Triumph tour release. LOL Did you get to see the special performance of "Don't Stop"-can't wait to hear about that. :)

That event looked like so much fun! I hope they do one next year so I can go to it. Might be hard to decide between that and the tribute artist show, though, hehe.

No nothing about Triumph unfortunately...lol. I was kinda lurking around hoping to pick up something but couldn't hear much with everyone talking. I did meet Michael Bush briefly and he was very nice. Didn't get to meet Travis Payne but they both were so warm and open with the fans, answering questions, giving hugs etc..John Branca was very accessible taking photos etc...It was nice that he took the time to be there.

The energy in the theatre was very high as you'd expect and it was great to be able to be there with an audience full of fans. Made it special.
I don't remember all the details about DSTGE. There was so much going on but it was very good. Clips from the short film showed in the background. They also did a performance of Stranger In Moscow and showed a clip from Another Part of Me from Wembley.

And the cake was yummy!

Being by myself and a shy one, I missed the Meet and Greet, which I later heard was awesome, but, of course, I made it to the show and loved every moment...especially SIM, Thriller, and of course, my all time favorite, SC. Basically, I just loved it all. Woohoo ! Only thing, it made me miss the Man, even more :(.

PS: I agree with the poster above who said the cake was yummy. Best cake ever:yes:

Wasn't SIM awesome? That was definitely my favourite number. The arrangement was just beautiful. I really wish they'd release that one to iTunes.

Chris I agree SIM was by far the most touching part of the show.. Made me a bit emotional!! seeing the guy alone climbing, looking like he was trying to just hold on, with the music and MJ art on the screen... Beautiful

I haven't talked to anyone who wasn't emotional after SIM. God so well done and the visuals in the background. Gets me every time. Also Earth Song. Those are my two of my favourites.

^^I wish they would reenact SIM on a late night talk show or DWTS or something. I'm dying to see it since I read the first review.

It's extremely well done. Won't give out any spoilers but there are clips (not the full show of course) on You Tube if you want a taste of the show.

Why doesn't the Estate do another worldwide tour like Immortal was?
ONE is the only ungoing MJ project and there should be dozens.

Oh, really? I saw a bit when it opened, but it didn't have SIM. I'll check it out tonight.

I haven't been looking because I figured they would restrict vids until they at least got Immortal out on DVD.

To celebrate his first Latin Grammy award nomination, reggaeton superstar J. Balvin visited Las Vegas and attended the world-famous Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil at Mandalay Bay earlier this week (Photo credit: Cashman Photography).

Univision’s Despierta America came along to film his experience in Las Vegas and at the acclaimed Cirque du Soleil show. Balvin was joined by family and friends including fellow singer Jesse Huerta of Jesse and Joy.

Before the show, Balvin enjoyed a private meet-and-greet with the cast, where he posed for photos and fun selfies and learned some of the King of Pop’s signature dance moves.

My Michael Jackson experience of Cirque du Soleil was breathtaking. I LOVE the arts. I have sat through countless concerts, ballets, plays, circuses, art shows and musicals but last night I got my entire life. Dancing in my seat, clapping to the beat, watching lights and colors rhythmically jump through the air, slapping high fives with strangers, tears of joy and remembrance and losing my voice cheering for the talents.
To say that art transcends color and race is an understatement. Old and young. Black, white and everyone in between. We all laughed, danced, cried, sang and cheered all in the name of love for music and Michael Jackson. ONE. #cirquedusoleil #wheninvegas #michaeljacksonforever #ripmj

“It’s a whole different show- it’s set up at a custom built theater that is designed to give everybody a feeling that you would never get in an arena.” –Musical Director, Kevin Antunes.
