For me the give away is the way he says Michael Jackson. Doesn't sound like him at all.

Also, im not sure we shoudl be trusting a fan filtered acapella. Hell we shouldn't be trusting a streaming sample. I'll wait until I have full CDQ before I REALLY judge.

I don't know what to think anymore to be honest.

I DON'T THINK they would get this guy to sing a complete song and pretend to be Michael, I really don't, but perhaps he was used to fill in gaps of the unfinished song? I don't know. Not sure I can really believe that. Still.. 'Breaking News' doesn't sound 100% Michael.

Some of the voice doubles are not MJ , in the part between 2m40sec and 3min you hear typical MJ's voice but the voice doubles in that same part is NOT MJ ... Listen to that part and then you know it !! ;) So Michael Jacksons voice is in that !! ;) Its the same voice from michael like in This Is It !!!!!

I think the acapella sounds more like him. I always thought it was a rough demo that has been added to a mix of vocals and sounds.

The only controversy I see is how much work has been done to the track and whether sony should have put out a track like this which required so much work ahead of those tracks which were at a more completed state.

Saying all that I still like the track - its not the single and probably isn't the best song on the album. Will all have to wait and see.

Not 100% of the vocals are his - some have been added/enhanced after his death - but there is enough of him there for me to love it. But then, as I love much more than I hate, it is easier for me to pick to positive from the negative - especially when it comes to Michael Joseph Jackson.

i agree with everything u sed.
right now if i got evidence that it was fake, i wouldn't be surprised but if i got evidence saying it was real, again, wouldn't be surprised
i think some of it is definitely mike. its an absolutely awesome song. sony chose it for its appeal. some parts were unfinished. maybe some of it was added to or changed.

when i imagine that it IS mike i'm absolutely IN LOVE with the song tho
i luv the bit around the middle where its just instrumental and then OWWW. just like the oww in jam after the gun shot

Jason's vibratto is the same in all songs, including Breaking News.

I have a hard time thinking Teddy Riley would lie. I get the sense he's a genuine person. He might 100% believe in his heart that it's MJ.

This Song is recorded in 2007 & wasn't Finished, what they do now is VERY VERY SMART

They release a UNFINISHED & UNRELEASED SONG from MJ and gave the song a new Jacket, they added effects and finished the song. They release it this to TEST US.

Why you think??


Because if everybody liked the song, they gonna keep continuing doing this.
Finish the song witch aren't finished, so they fit in 2010 and the upcoming Years so the songs will be a TOP HIT song and sell MILLIONS!!

Now they have so many critics and more to follow... Now they gonna think

after listning so many times to the song, it is MICHAEL, but with all effects and low acapella it's hard to hear it's him. But this is whats going on.

Remember Malachi came to our forum a few years ago. He hinted at a collaboration with MJ.

He said something like this:

"Some of you may thinking it's MJ singing not me. Michael has heard me, he was very impressed. You will see..."

I dont think if this whole *It's not Michael* Thing hadnt started before the song was released, it wouldnt have placed a doubt in fans hearts from the start. Well That is what my thinking is.

When I first heard the song I was happy, in tears almost, that I was listening to Michael's NEW Project. Then I came to the boards and see what other ppl. thought...Most started to say IT IS NOT MICHAEL!!! Then I doubted myself and left for MJ.com to listen to it over and over and over again. I listened to it over 5 times and everytime I countinued to doubt myself.

Oh it's Michael alright. The thing is, it's like he's doing his best impression of Justin Timberlake instead of just being Michael :scratch:

I'd be very curious to hear the raw demo to see if it sounds more like MJ's usual voice and maybe, just too much fiddling around with audio editors made it sound like ALL these other soft voice singers out there.

I truely don't understand why Sony would release this song that doesn't sound like the real Michael Jackson instead of let say Another Day where Michael really sound like Michael.

Now Sony's adding fuel to the "fake" rumors. It won't help sell more CDs
for sure.

IMO, it's like if Sony would've released 2000 Watts as the first track to Invincible. I've would've thought WUTTT ???? That ain't Michael Jackson!!!

With all that said, Breaking News is definately a good "club banger" but not the right song to release as a promo.

Just goes to show how Sony is out of touch with the fans once again.:doh:

breaking news is supposed to ENCOURAGE people to buy the album. why would they use it if there was any risk that it would do the opposite..
i just want some official announcement that'll put my mind at rest... this is NOT GOOD for my exam study!!!!!!!!!

I think that is disrespectful as well. I am willing to give Teddy the benefit of the doubt. Unlike others, including the family, when it comes to MJ, he has never lied before (at least as far as we know).

He said give it a couple of days and it will be clear and I respect him enough to do just that. I am going to wait and see before I throw away this mans entire history with MJ fans.

I think it is MJ, I mean why else would it not be? The only time it doesn't sound like him in the song is at the end with the he he bits. It has to be him. Who else could it be? You know, I'm starting to think a lot of MJ fans are paranoid and that a lot of you seem to think anything new with MJ is too good to be true. No wonder we have a reputation! Why can't you just be happy something new is being released without criticising it? Fair enough MJ may not have wanted us to hear these songs which is unfortunate but I'm just glad when anything to do with MJ is released. He would have wanted us to enjoy it.
