The main reason it's being protested is because those are not his vocals on the lead. I think I speak for many when I say that I rather no album than an album with any fake lead vocals. By preventing this monstrosity, I'd argue it's acting to actually protect his legacy.
Hey!
There's something more to all this. The pieces of the puzzle don't fit (even more!)
JACKIE JACKSON Tweeted this today:
My friend John McClain (co-executor) and I have insisted for many weeks to have certain tracks removed from Michael's new album.
Unfortunately, our concerns were not taken seriously
Which you can see for yourselves in this Tweets:
http://twitter.com/#!/JackieJackson5/status/2040574249017344
http://twitter.com/#!/JackieJackson5/status/2040667903627264
BUT on November 4th (which is just 5 days ago) he Tweeted this:
MJ's new album is INCREDIBLE!
In reply to someone who asked this to him: "just wondering if you've heard michaels new album yet? I CANNOT wait!!"
As you can check here: http://twitter.com/#!/JackieJackson5/status/375455924359168
Which leads me to ask myself: How can an album which was AMAZING 5 days ago, it is now an album which shouldn't be having certain tracks?
Thriller was an "INCREDIBLE" album. BAD was an "INCREDIBLE" album. Dangerous was an "INCREDIBLE" album. And you know why? Because they didn't need anything added to them, nor taken out.
What do you think?
I agree with you, it is fake. Other songs sounds amazing.
Ok so we have for now on MICHAEL:
1. Another Day
2. Hold My Hand
3. Do You Know Where Your Children Are
4. Much Too Soon
5. Love Never Felt So Good
6. Blue Gangsta
and FAKE
7. Breaking News
8. Monster
9. All I Need
10.Carry On
I think that is it - 10 songs
Guys, announce and DECLARE these fakes. Use the titles!
Tell the world NO to ALL I NEED.
NO to CARRY ON.
NO to MONSTER.
NO to BREAKING NEWS.
NO to CASCIO!
Everyone it's clear to me now. Here is an overview of which songs are real and which songs are fake.
Real:
- Hold My Hand
- Another Day
- Gangsta
- Much Too Soon
- Love Never Felt So Good
Fake:
- Breaking News
- Monster
- Carry On
- All I Need
In my opinion what happened is that Michael worked on all the fake songs, however he had not finished those songs. The reason why some of the fake songs like 'Carry On' sound more like MJ than the others, is that those songs were more finished than the others. They (Cascio, The Estate, Teddy Riley) worked with what Michael recorderd, and the gaps were filled with vocals of an imitator (my guess is Jason Malachi). However this is unacceptable since these songs for the most part (90%) consist of the imitator's voice and not Michael's.
Agree x 5. So how are we going to leverage this information to get Sony to remove the fake tracks from the upcoming album? Because that needs to be our priority.
Joined the uk facebook page and e-mailed a message, we still need an MJJC based movement though. It would be great to hear from Gaz at this point.
Will someone please tweet Jackie Jackson and let him know we've heard these songs and we know they're fake! He has direct connection to the estate and Sony. I'm too busy to do it now. But they must know we know!
you can bet michael didnt write the 'michael jackson' bits lolShowbiz411 and Roger Friedman report that Breaking News was written by Michael Jackson, Eddie Cascio and Bobby Ewing.
Friedman says in another article that the songs sung were originally Bobby Ewing's, written with Frank Cascio, but that they then recorded over vocals with Michael's. Perhaps they were always intended as demos for MJ.
exotic dancer...hmmmm i cud just about be him on bncould it be that Bobby Ewing is one of the singers on Breaking News, Dileo giving his new act a leg-up by getting him involved in the project while MJ was still alive, and now he has been brought back in to finish what was started alongside him?
This was brought up by DeeEmAych yesterday (http://www.mjjcommunity.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3055710&postcount=893) but I've come to similar conclusions separately. Not sure if it's come up today as 50 pages have sprouted up in the last couple of hours! See what you think...
According to JacksonVillage (via Maximum-Jackson), the credits for Breaking News are: Michael Jackson, Eddie Cascio, Frank Cascio, Bobby Ewing, Teddy Riley, John McClain.

But who is Bobby Ewing?
Showbiz411 and Roger Friedman report that Breaking News was written by Michael Jackson, Eddie Cascio and Bobby Ewing. They also mention Bobby Ewing and James Porte as one and the same, though I've only seen a small amount of info on a James Porte and I'm not necessarily convinced it's the same guy.

I've found a Bobby Ewing found on Last.FM. His manager is none other than Frank Dileo - see management under 'more information' on the right hand column.

His only track of real note is Exotic Dancer, a promo-only track that is a take on Pussycat Dolls' Buttons, produced by Polow Da Don. Polow worked on the Dancing Machine mix on The Remix Suite last year.

Could it be that Bobby Ewing is one of the singers on Breaking News, Dileo giving his new act a leg-up by getting him involved in the project while MJ was still alive, and now he has been brought back in to finish what was started alongside him? It's not the first time that Dileo has been involved post-death; he was part of the team on This Is It too.
Strangely, his Last.FM biography was edited (to be cleared?) on Sunday night according to the list of activity on his Last.FM profile, hours before Breaking News was released. His MySpace account is also now defunct, though when that happened is uncertain.

Any thoughts?
Am I the only one who is thinking & feeling this way?
Hopefully when I wake up, everything will have been sorted out and we'll get a proper Michael Jackson track on the official website and a humble apology from Sony telling us they've decided to release the Bad Tour '88 DVD as a free gift with the album.
I really have been awake too long...
Moonwalker, thank you so much! ! ! ! ! !
I answered no to the poll because although I am angry and disappointed in the family. I am not lost and confused. I know how I feel about Michael. I know how I will always feel about Michael and I will always support him. So no, I am not lost and confused. I have been on high emotion ever since this interview was announced. Maybe even before then when I learned that Katherrine was hooked up with Mann and Schaffel. It reached its peak on Sunday night and the interview was the last straw for me with the family. I think if anything I have more clarity.Isn't it strange how the news from the last few days has brought most of us nothing but anger, hurt, confusion, and sadness? Actually, I don't know if "most of us" are feeling like I am, but judging by the the comments that are being made in all the threads, specifically the ones related to the New Album and "Breaking News" & Katherine's interview with Oprah, it looks like most of us are not happy with what has happened this week.
I really thought that after the single was released and when Breaking News was put up, every one of us would be jumping with joy! Although the excitement was present during the 3 days following the announcement, it quickly subsided and turned into confusion, anger, agitation and everything that could possibly be the opposite of excitement. The legitimacy of Breaking News and the controversy surrounding this whole project have overshadowed all of the excitement and has changed it into something bitter & unexplainable (at least for me). We have been waiting SOOO long for this thing to come out, and when it finally does - something comes and ruins it.
And Katherine's interview with Oprah, I was hoping it'd clear some things up and show the great side of MJ to the world - that didn't happen either.
As fans, were we (or I) expecting too much from all of this news? :mello:
I think it's ironic that the days we thought would be amazingly awesome, turned out to be terribly, confusingly horrible and filled with shady contradictions. I feel like I'm a little lost in terms of being a fan, since everything is going so different from the way I thought it would. Including the actions of the Jackson family. I think I have finally given up on them. I mean, I love them and all, but I just don't know what to think anymore. At every chance possible, they hurt Michael more than they defend him (some of them, not all).
Lost (as a fan of Michael Jackson), confused, bitter, a bit angry, sad, disappointed, etc.
Am I the only one who is thinking & feeling this way?
I am tired.
Aren't you?
nite all x

Yes
I've been working on a religious studies essay for 10 hours today in between checking updates on the situation; I've not left MJJC all day.
Deary me.
