What a beautiful picture. A happy Michael back in those days. Miss you MJ.

Re: Brad Sundberg seminars: Making Music With Michael Jackson

I gotta say, I'm a little bit bummed out to see so many All Access tickets go unsold for the Homecoming. Brad put such a wonderful, unique event together; I'd be breaking my neck to get any ticket that was available just so I could be in the room lol. But it seems like once the VIP tix sold out, hardly anyone cared to go at all. The extra stuff that you get with a VIP ticket is cool and all, but the seminar ITSELF is cool!!! I thought fan interest for it would be much higher, it's honestly a little disappointing. So many fans preach that it should be about the music and Michael's legacy, and that's just what this seminar offers. Yet for about a week, almost no one touched the All Access tickets lol. I understand that no one likes to feel that they're missing out, but damn lol. For the fans that have a few extra bucks to spend and that will be in the area... I don't get why these tickets didn't sell like hot cakes, ALL of them lol...

Latest news from Brad about the LA events 'The Homecoming'

In The Studio With Michael Jackson

When I was much younger, my little brother Steve got me this awesome birthday gift. Well, actually I think my parents got it for me, because Steve was maybe 5 years old. Still, it was this board game I really wanted, called "King Oil." It was like a day or two before my birthday, and my brother (who I still tease about this) said something like, "I know what your birthday gift is... it's _____ ____. (He didn't say the words, but he mouthed them very slowly so I could figure it out, which of course I did.) I was so excited, but then bummed because my birthday surprise was blown. Still, I loved King Oil... lots of fun.

So... why do you care about this?

Because... I have what I think is an amazing surprise for you in June for the Homecoming... but I can't tell you what it is. I can't even mouth the words! Many of you have written and asked or guessed, but I just can't tell you. I will say this: I have confirmed that my surprise guest(s) will be with us every day, later in the day To be clear, it will NOT a different special guest(s) each night... at least that is not the plan.

So here is what I am doing: I want everyone to be able to experience Catherine and Laura's dinner, and my special guest(s).

I have worked it out with Westlake, Catherine and my team to allow all guests the option of buying a VIP ticket. You have requested it, and I want to give everyone that option.

Now please listen to me carefully, because this is important and I don't want anyone left out. This note is divided into two sections - current ticket holders and non-ticket holders.

If you have an ALL ACCESS ticket for Mon, Tues or Wed (June 23-25), that ticket is totally valid if you want use it, but it will only allow you to stay until 5pm. Let me repeat: ALL ACCESS tickets will be accepted and are welcome, but the event will end for you at 5pm, as printed on the ticket.

>>If you have an ALL ACCESS ticket you will be contacted directly and offered the VIP upgrade. You do NOT need to buy a new ticket tonight, you can relax - your upgrade option will take place next week, after we have time to add an UPGRADE button on the ticket site for you.

Re: Brad Sundberg seminars: Making Music With Michael Jackson

I think LA sessions all sold out now due to his 2 recent updates !

Yeah, I went back to check the ticket count right when the ticketing was being updated. All additional tickets were shifted to the VIP option, a few minutes later, they were gone lol. Looks like there's only 1 left for June 23rd, but I'm sure that'll be gone within the hour. My above sentiment still stands, but I like seeing events like these at capacity. :D

I don't think he's got promos for the event, you just have the option to upgrade an already purchased ticket...

I have seeing anything yet on the website to where we can upgrade our ticket to V.I.P.

Brad said there would be a button this week on the website. Has anyone seeing it yet?

Would that mean Music & Me was re-recorded? Man, I would love to hear that. Possibly more than a new song.

That would be amazing. One of my favourite young Michael's songs.

Decade was supposedly going to feature two re-recorded Motown tracks on it, but those were I'll Be There and Never Can Say Goodbye.

It would indeed be amazing if there was a re-recorded version of Music & Me. Such a great song.

Re: Brad Sundberg seminars: Making Music With Michael Jackson

Latest from Brad;

In The Studio With Michael Jackson

OK, we have a lot of fun here (I hope), but every now and then someone sends me something that makes me pause for a moment. Today, that happened twice.

First, my friend Joe Vogel took a few minutes out of his crazy schedule to share a few words about my seminar.

"Brad's seminars offer a fascinating, eye (and ear)-opening experience, in which genuine insights about Michael Jackson as an artist, a person and a friend, are revealed. I thoroughly enjoyed the warm, conversational approach and the deep well of materials. There were several goosebump moments. Brad puts you right there, inside the studio in those eras, and shows how the magic was made. I couldn't recommend it more to both fans of Jackson and anyone who cares about music."

-Joseph Vogel, Author of Man in the Music: The Creative Life and Work of Michael Jackson

Good grief Joe... that's amazingly kind of you to write, and I am humbled and pleased that you "got it".

Then, just a little while ago, a very dear friend sent me a demo from the Dangerous album I had never heard before. Well... let me rephrase that - I had likely not heard for more than 25 years. How is that even possible? Anyway, I have listened to it three times and it will be folded into my upcoming seminar series.

It is weird (for lack of a much more appropriate word) how familiar and comfortable it is to hear Michael sing a demo. You can hear him finding his way around a song, like kid riding a bike through a small town, exploring streets and shops he has not seen before. (I don't know if that makes sense, but it's what comes to mind).

Amsterdam - maybe we should do an evening of "Just the demos and early mixes" the night before the seminar. What do you think? Pile into a studio and kick off our shoes and play some music. Let me think about it.

LA ticket holders - you'll be hearing from me in a day or so about ticket upgrades. You have been very patient, and we are moving as quickly as we can to accommodate you. I will have more announcements coming over the next few days.

Have a great week - and thanks for your friendship and support.

Brad

And from today (Tuesday 25th):

Quick news items:

>All Access ticket holders for the Homecoming seminars have been contacted with VIP upgrade optional instructions. If you did not receive your instructions (and you are a ticketholder for the June Homecoming seminars), please let us know.

>A handful of tickets ARE still available for June 23 and June 25 in LA. June 24 is currently sold out 100%.

>We are looking very seriously at adding a "demos and early mixes" evening in Amsterdam on April 18th. I am waiting to hear back from the studio to work out the details. No script, no shoes, just hanging out and digging through some fun mixes. Beer and pizza might be required.

Happy Tuesday...

Update from Brad, Weds 2 April:

Amsterdam, I have a little surprise for you! I am adding an evening of mixes, demos and stories on April 18, the night before my full "In The Studio With MJ" seminar.

No shoes, no script, no regulated format. Just music, stories, maybe a pizza and some beer - who knows?!

Wanna be a Studio Rat for an evening? This is your chance...

Re: Brad Sundberg seminars: Making Music With Michael Jackson

From Brad today:

Amsterdam.... one week from tonight we will bring it to you! I have been working on some surprises that you are going to blow your mind.

People ask what the difference is between my "Shoes Optional" evening and the regular seminar. In a sense, they sort of compliment each other. The seminar will cover the big projects, the early mixes, plus some new additions that have not been included before. The "Shoes Optional" evening will have some overlap, allowing some of those mixes to be played maybe a second time, but also just digging into my collection of older mixes, song demos, etc. I can't give it all away, but I think the "Shoes Optional" evening will be a great way to start your MJ weekend. The sound system for Amsterdam is top-shelf and will make this weekend even more amazing.

Saturday is sold out, but tickets are still available for "Shoes Optional" on Friday night. Brace yourself.

Brussels, Russia... stand by.

All set for June 23 ticket is upgraded and i am ready to roll.

Re: Brad Sundberg seminars: Making Music With Michael Jackson

More from Brad today:

Five days until Amsterdam!

Greetings from Orlando. The venues, flights, hotels and transportation are all booked. We are nearly sold out for each seminar except one: "Shoes Optional". I thought this one would have taken off, but maybe something is getting lost in translation. Let me give you another brief overview of what is going on this Friday night in Amsterdam.

I have booked one of the most beautiful rooms you can imagine. I rented a sound system that will blow your mind. I am bringing many of the selections I use in my seminars, but I also have a pile of song demos and mixes that we often don't have time to listen to. I have stories and studio insights that you have likely not heard before. We might even order a pizza or three, who knows? You like a certain mix that you hear, let's listen to it again. The whole point of "Shoes Optional" is to make it a fun, casual night, as if we are hanging out in a studio listening to a box of mixes.

As for the "Shoes Optional" part, I bought some special socks just for this night, and I will be showing them off. Whoever has the coolest socks (I will be the judge) will receive a prize.

OK, let's be serious just for a minute. I have been digging into my collection as well as some very close friends of mine from the studio days, and you are going to love what I am bringing for you.

MJ music, great speakers, stories, pizza, demos and mixes and surprises... what is not to like? Tickets are still available for "Shoes Optional", and also for our awesome seminar in Brussels on April 23rd.

I look forward to seeing many of you these next couple weeks. I've got my passport and my socks... Will You Be There?

Re: Brad Sundberg seminars: Making Music With Michael Jackson

Will you please tell us as much as you can from the seminar, I'm dying to go to one, but none are really in my area yet. Thank you.

Re: Brad Sundberg seminars: Making Music With Michael Jackson

My question is will this "Shoe-Op" event be longer or shorter than the actual seminar?

It's shorter, approximately 4 hours.
