Right now... I am PROUD to be a Michael Jackson fan!! This is the reason i stayed up til midnight last night!!!

With the fiasco surrounding previous estate/sony projects, it is great to see Michael and his legacy being treated with the dignity, respect and on a scale that only he deserves!!!

I can't wait now that 2012 has finally begun!

Just read this i'm bouncing off the wall(No pun intended there) so happy I do hope TWYMMF is on the DVD but if not I can live with that September cannot get here quick enough

I read that it was too late to put it back in when he found out about DD.

And why drop both? They were all in the other shows.

Anyway, I KNEW IT!!!!!!!
I KNEW that whenever they release a Bad Tour DVD, they would TOTALLY half-a$$ it!

All (or a very large amount) of his shows were professionally filmed (whether for prosperity, TV promotion, or archival purposes).
This "MJ's OWN PERSONAL VHS COPY" , whether its true or not, its beyond ridiculous.

I knew that if they ever released it, it would be one of the shows without the full setlist. And of course, Dirty Diana and/or The Way You Make Me Feel isn't going to be on there.

I really hope they edit in those songs in from another Wembley show, because you just know theres more footage around.
I'm sure there's a vault with countless hours of tape and audio from the tour...

To go through all of this BAD 25 re-relase, why feature a shorter show without 2 of the biggest hits from the album performed live??

Ugh... This is so exciting and frustrating at the same time!

And why no behind the scenes footage?

/venting complete, for now.

THE GREATEST NEWS TO COME HOME FROM WORK TO!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!!! Not only is the dvd concert going to be AMAZING, the whole box set looks incredible! I'm so proud to be a Michael Jackson fan! :D

I still can't believe we are getting all of this. I am glad things will be the way Michael left it and nothing changed. The Spike Lee documentary will be separate then?

Hell yeah! I want to listen to the early versions of the songs off the album and various other demos/alt takes/unreleased songs... everything untouched baby!

Can't wait for that... :D

I'm a lot more excited for the unreleased songs than the Bad tour, I really hope there is more unreleased songs than there are remixes.

It looks very promising, I was very happy when I saw the announcement. I particularly like the fact that they specify that the concert is unedited and that the demos and unreleased material on cd 2 are untouched - that's great. However, I am holding back uninhibited excitement until we get more information, e.g.:

-What's the tracklist of cd 2? The This Is It soundtrack also boasted an extra disc, yet they only added 4 tracks. The proportion of demos/unreleased material to remixes is also a factor.
-What will the video quality be? The footage of MJ in the trailer does not look that good. Given that Vision was also a disappointment quality wise, I am not sure what to expect. The whole story about this being the only copy of the concert in existence (which I find very hard to believe) also makes me wonder. I hope this is just a marketing ploy.
-What's the difference between cd 3 and the audio of the DVD? Are we basically just getting the dvd audio on cd as well?
-Do we get any extras on the dvd? Behind the scenes footage? Extra performances?

Nevertheless, it's great that we will finally be getting an 88 Bad Tour concert on dvd after all these years and it certainly looks promising!

I'm intrigued by the fact this video was 'recently unearthed' - have the estate spent these past few yrs hunting for it. Cdn't have been in the vault so where was it - in that airport hangar with mj's artwork? in tohme's bentley? bottom of latoya's closet?

I'm assuming if it's the film used on those big concert screens, it will just be the stage and so no crowd shots. I've always quite liked a sprinkling of those, all those girls fainting etc. And i'm suspecting mj did too judging by the sheer amount he had in the live videos he released.

It's great they finally decided don't touch an original MJ tapes, it makes me feel they had a good lesson after MICHAEL Album failed. Now we'll have Michael and only Michael, PURE Michael's voice!!!!!! Ohhh I love it!

But in PHM, Michael himself said it was too close to show time to put it back. Why should he/has he dropped TWYMMF instead?

I totally agree! VISIONS was such a let down because of the video quality.

And it being the ONLY copy is totally a marketing ploy. All shows were filmed in some capacity. I find it hard to believe that a full show isn't around.

I had hoped it would look like MAN IN THE MIRROR from MOONWALKER quality, but I think that was seperatly shot on film for the purpose of putting it into the movie. (though, you'd think they would have filmed some shows on film for a future relase at the time).

I bet a fan edited copy of the Yokohama show will look better than this...

And no mentions of any extras. I'd love backstage stuff like from that Japan documentary from the first leg. Just seeing him with the band and dancers right before a show was really cool in that.



Sorry to be a Debbie Downer guys, but I've just been looking forward for this for so long and the DVD aspect of this just seems so incomplete.

No ones complaining. I'm very impressed by this. What I'm surprised about is that concert's only source is VHS which seems weird for a concert which importance is as July 16 had.

:lol: That would be something if they did release that kiss. But it took place at the MGS in NYC. Why the heck are there pictures, but footage?! I think they got rid of it....

there could be other sources but Estate might not have access or rights to them.
