And it being the ONLY copy is totally a marketing ploy. All shows were filmed in some capacity. I find it hard to believe that a full show isn't around.

I had hoped it would look like MAN IN THE MIRROR from MOONWALKER quality, but I think that was seperatly shot on film for the purpose of putting it into the movie. (though, you'd think they would have filmed some shows on film for a future relase at the time).

I bet a fan edited copy of the Yokohama show will look better than this...

And no mentions of any extras. I'd love backstage stuff like from that Japan documentary from the first leg. Just seeing him with the band and dancers right before a show was really cool in that.



Sorry to be a Debbie Downer guys, but I've just been looking forward for this for so long and the DVD aspect of this just seems so incomplete.

It would be sweet if they released it as part of Xbox Live Arcade to download :D Especially multiplayer.
I remember the arcade machine let 3 people play at a time, and the other MJ suits were red and yellow I think...

I hope they release a HD remake on Xbox live arcade!

I loved the arcade version, if I had to choose I would prefer this version!

I just always find this phenomenon interesting: someone who never posts anything otherwise then turns up at the release of something new just to criticize and boo. Let's wait and see what it will be like before declaring that it will suck.

This is more at the estate/Sony than MJ, obviously. This is a discission forum. I am discussing my feelings on this lovely piece of news.
I've actually been googling BAD TOUR DVD ever since the Pepsi thing was announced, haha

Also, I mostly post at MJDHF and MJHideout.

Some cheer-up for you: the Jumbotrons displayed a centered image from a normal viewing angle camera. The recording will be like other concerts, since the tapes recorded the full frame. The jumbo just didn`t display the whole thing.

Compare to a director filming on his high end videocamera: he has a widescreen display with several boxes in it. The most center bos is what has the most attention, for displaying in more rectengular screens(, like an old crt television...or a jumbotron).

I'm totally gonna edit together my own super-duper Bad Tour dvd when this comes out for myself, combining it with Yokohama, Australia, and other various sources (ones that don't have LOUNIS PRODUCTIONS on them will now no longer be necessary!)

I KNEW that whenever they release a Bad Tour DVD, they would TOTALLY half-a$$ it!

All (or a very large amount) of his shows were professionally filmed (whether for prosperity, TV promotion, or archival purposes).
This "MJ's OWN PERSONAL VHS COPY" , whether its true or not, its beyond ridiculous.

I knew that if they ever released it, it would be one of the shows without the full setlist. And of course, Dirty Diana and/or The Way You Make Me Feel isn't going to be on there.

I really hope they edit in those songs in from another Wembley show, because you just know theres more footage around.
I'm sure there's a vault with countless hours of tape and audio from the tour...

To go through all of this BAD 25 re-relase, why feature a shorter show without 2 of the biggest hits from the album performed live??

Ugh... This is so exciting and frustrating at the same time!

And why no behind the scenes footage?

It's the same with the will.i.am and RedOne songs. It's Estate's property but it's not in their possession. And why would they add TWYMMF if Michael did not perform that song at the concert they are releasing?

I don't think they should add it to the concert, but as bonus material it would be nice.

I'm glad the Bad tour is finally getting a release, and i wish i could say i have all the faith in Sony that its gonna be great. But i can't...so i'll hold my excitement until i see it. Sure i ain't expecting crystal clear quality, but at least alot better than those 'dvds' we have out there now.

I too am more excited about the unreleased music. Some new songs I haven't heard before :lol:

^^I will remain excited, but just not go overboard with my expectations. In that way I will be happy with what I get.
Does anyone remember who won the other 4 grammy awards. The first post said Bad was nominated for 6 and got 2.

For the same reason that there are supposedly some shots of the Bucharest crowd on Dangerous Tour dvd was actually from a different show or something (i think i read that somewhere, don't hold me to that :) ).

But yes, you're right. The fact they they mention the date kind of squashes that idea. If it just said WEMBLEY, they could have done a compilation of the multiple nights he performed there seamlessly like it was one show.

Yes, some bonus songs would be nice too. How cool would it be if the songs from the first leg of the tour that were cut were on there as bonuses?
But I wouldn't mind if they weren't, since I already have Yokohama.
 
even now it never get's borring here.
now they got us something to speculate and discuss for the next four months. was dd or twymmf in the show or not.
it never gets tired with the estate. its like trying to compensate michael is missing with those releases that bring everytime so much controversy.
hahaha

I think it should be added to extras from another concert along with other extra stuff like rehearsals & backstage footage & interviews or something.

I'm just happy that it's a 1988 concert and not a 1987 concert cause for a while i was scared that the estate would screw up and release Yokohama
