no lemme learn one voodoo language at a time

Okaaayyy voodoo language second take :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

dirty word:
well this one is actually one of my favs :D It used to be quite bad,
but now it's more and more used by people
and became one of those half dirty half cool words :shades:

Okay, kids. Ya know how in English when you take the word f**k and do stuff with it, like : ___ you or ___ off, or ___ed up, it changes the meaning of the whole sentence, right? :) In Polish we do have the same trick, except that we add something directly to the word (letters before or after etc).

So yeah, in Polish there are 2 equivalents for the English nice word f**k .
We will focus on the first one.
I'm coding it as it is a really bad word in Polish... hard stuff :lmao: jebać :lmao: (yebachi) :lmao:

Now, I want to teach you how to say in Polish: 'f****ng good' :D
You take the word I just said and you do stuff to it.
You add "za" at the beginning and you change the ending to -sty or -sta :)

it's ZAJEBISTY (zayebistay) when talking about a man or
ZAJEBISTA
(zayebista) when talking about the woman -
or about things in general (ya know, all Polish nouns have gender...
so you can always use one of those. At the beginning just use any form :giggle:).
It is also my fav word in Polish dictionary :D

Mike jest ("is" in 3rd person) ZAJEBISTY :wild: :wild: :wild: :wild: :wild: :wild: :wild:

I hope I didn't confuse anyone :)

Okay I repost your list. In capitals you will see the corrections. And then I'll make a lil list for you re how to read specific sounds...

Britt said:
today my own lesson is the Polish letters and numbers :D

Polish letters: ą Ą ć Ć ę Ę Ń ń Ł ł ó Ó Ś ś Ź ź ż Ż :giggle:

THERE'S SOME ADDITIONAL STUFF THAT DOES SOUND DIFFERENT THAN IN OTHER LANGUAGES TOO. COMBINATIONS OF LETTERS: DŹ, DŻ, CH, RZ

Polish numbers:

Zero - zero
One - jeden
Two - dwa
Three - trzy
Four - cztery
Five - pięć
Six - sześć
Seven - siedem
Eight - osiem
Nine - dziewięć
Ten - dziesięć
Eleven - jedenaście
Twelve - dwanaście
Thirteen - trzynaście
Fourteen - czternaście
Fifteen - pietnaście PIĘTNAŚCIE
Sixteen - szesnaście
Seventeen - siedemnaście
Eighteen - osiemnaście
Nineteen - dziewiętnaście
Twenty - dwadzieścia
Twenty one - dwadzieścia jeden
Twenty Two - dwadzieścia dwa
Thirty - trzydzieści
Thirty One - trzydzieści jeden
Forty - czterdzieści
Fifty - piędzieśąt PIĘĆDZIESIĄT
Sixty - sześdzieśąt SZEŚĆDZIESIĄT
Seventy - siedemdzieśąt SIEDEMDZIESIĄT
Eighty - osiemdzieśąt OSIEMDZIESIĄT
Ninety - dziewiędzieśąt DZIEWIĘĆDZIESIĄT
One hundred - sto
One hundred and one - sto jeden
Thousand - tyśąc TYSIĄC
Million - milion

;)

Ą ą = ouu (hard to find example, sounds kinda french... like maison)
Ę ę = euu (hard to find example, sounds kinda french...)
Ó ó (also, U, u, the same) = oo (like in school)

Ć ć (also, the same way we read Ci, ci) = chi/chee (very soft, like cheese)
Ś, ś (also, the same way we read Si, si) = shi/shee (soft again)
Sz is pronounced as Sh (like in shades)
Cz is pronounced as Ch (chica)

Ń, ń (also, Ni, ni again) soft, like Spanish

Ź ź , Zi, zi (how do I explain it????)... like... ummm like soft ... okay I don't know how to explain it!
:giggle: listen here: http://www.apronus.com/learnpolish/polishsounds.htm
Ż ż (also, Rz, rz) similar to the one before but very hard, a bit like magic but harder.
It's like magic is a sound in between ż and ź.
Dź dź almost the same as Ź ź except it's a bit shorter and has a slight d sound.
Dż dż almost the same as Ż ż ...

C is never k in Polish... like ts in English...
Dz is similar to ts just as if you tried to say ds instead of ts...

Ch and H is pronounced as H (hooka)
Ł or ł is the same as English w - window
W however is the same as English v (vicar) - we don't use V in Polish
J is an English y (yellow)

It becomes funny when you have combination of those, like in word cześć
It should be either said as cheshichi or chesheechee except that the last vowel is very, very short :D

ok I think it's all, the rest is relatively close to English,
cept that vowels are flatter and shorter in Polish in general.

Okay Britt, now, if you really wanna learn, you should transcribe all those numbers
using the sounds that I suggested :D if you want to, pm all that to me :D
