Sorry homie, but folks were wearing Afro's WAY before the Jackson's. Where the heck did you get that idea from. LOL! You straight-up tripping now.
I NEVER said they were not. But the Afro was a protest hair style that was alligned to the black panther and other black power groups. Mainstream blacks were not wearing it until the Jacksons came out with it. It gave them permission to wear it too. The Jacksons were fashion ICON fthroughout the 70's.

Yep they were, the Afro was a symbol of Black power in the 60's and people didn't just start wearing because of the Jacksons.
Mainstream black people were reluctant to do anything to do with a revolutionary group like the black power movement or the black panther. the hairstyle and the raised fist was synanmous with such groups and therefore was condemned by church leaders and others. When the Jacksons started wearing the hairstyle, many black people started wearing it because they felt it was safe to do so,k
in Europe the Afro was known as the jacksons hairstyle.

Maybe the "mainstream" blacks from where you came from, but the rest of the world was up on the happenings when it came to wearing an afro.

Were the Jackson's also responsible for black folks "braiding" up their hair. I mean, doesn't one of Tito's son's wear his hair braided. Maybe they are responsible for that hair style also. LOL!

Count me in as one who loves the Jackson brothers. They did brilliant music in the past and I so enjoy watching their videos on You Tube now.

I can't understand the Jermaine 'bashing'.....he's a true brother to Michael - always defended him in all those worst 'crisis' in his life. And Michael also loved him back.

Don't turn this into an Black & White issue, I'm mixed. Come up with something original for once. And Michael Jackson can not be compared with his siblings. He will be here forever. He's on a whole other level. He's up their with the greats like Picasso, Michaelangelo, Da Vinci etc. As for the disrespecting part, I haven't disrespected anyone in this thread, so try again.
Do you give everybody that you disagree with negative rep points or is it just me you like to behave childish with? Notice I didn't do the same for you. i would not deprive you of your single green rep.

A group of black family that made a world of black people excited at a time when there was little to be excited about is not nonesense. it is a fact. The Jacksons gave a world of black people hope. that is why they were labelled the black kennedy's and the first family of music by the industry.
Everybody wanted to be a Jackson or to marry one.
It is that spirit that people remember that brought them out again to mourn michael jackson on that aweful day.
JUST because it means Nothing to you doesn't mean you should trivialise that. have respect.

Like I said before give this Black and White talk someone else, I know black history and the Jacksons were NOT the first black ppl, black folks looked up too. There were dozens before them. Of course what they achieves was the ultimate American Dream, but other black folks had done it BEFORE them. Anyways I'm done.

Once again you've resorted to personally attacking each other to prove a point. Healthy debate won't get a thread closed but this mess will.
