I always thought that he saw her as a good friend and from listening between the lines of her comments I get the feeling she liked him more romantically than he liked her. Maybe he liked her a little more than a good buddy, but not deep enough for a long lasting romantic relationship. I always felt he had a deeper love for Diana and Stephanie was just a good girl friend--like those men I used to date regularly, had a good time with, partied with, kissed, did things for each other, but I did not want to marry them. We all moved on and outgrew the relationship, but remained friends.
Barbee that one you just posted always make me sad, because here is this young man and his friends are older people. Where are the teens he is supposed to be hanging out with, having a good time with, doing foolish teen things with, etc. It is when I see photos/videos like this, I get an even deeper understanding of what this man lost and how he tried to compensate for it.
