Re: Your last MJ purchase

^ I really like that Hello World boxset!

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. But it arrived today.

I believe it's quite rare! :jumpy:

Gonetoosoon, I have this record aswell. I bought it in the late nineties in a vintage record store (was the only copy there), but do you have more info about this release. What I can find out by looking at this item is that it's printed in England, published by SLAM MUSIC- Licenced by Prestige Records Limited, released in 1996, and the inner side of the cover paper tells a little story 'Who's Johnny".

I have noticed that there are also other Jackson5 CD's on the market (release by other independant publishers) which have the same tracklist, but those are released- in the 00's, and don't have info about Johnny. My question is actualy if someone knows if there was an earlier release of these tracks prior to this release.

Acording to For The Record 2nd Edition, a CD with that tracklist was first released in the USA as "Beginning Years 1967-1968" in 1989, and in the UK in February 1990.

"Belated compilation of pre-Motown recordings, included the group's first two singles, Big Boy and We Don't Have To Be Over 21 (To Fall In Love), and their B-sides - all songs over-dubbed."

It has been repackaged and reissued numerous times with different titles. It doesn't give a full list but from what it does give, some titles include Johnny while others don't.

That's all I know.

Thank you very much for the info :)

Re: Your last MJ purchase

I bought this CD recently in NYC and I didn't care for it one bit. It's way overdubbed with keyboards--they clash horribly with the old recordings, in my opinion. I can barely hear little Michael singing. :(

Re: Your last MJ purchase

Well i didnt buy it - my bro did and it was a grey mj hat

Re: Your last MJ purchase

After reading some fan's reviews about this here, I ordered it from Amazon.

^Simplymagic, hope you can share your thoughts once you finish reading it. I'm looking for a good Michael read, but a little wary about buying new books.

Guys, I don't know how much it will help, I don't really have additional info, I just thought I should share some pictures of the version I own. It's the same album, different cover and CD. I bought it in 2008.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures, I don't have my camera at the moment so I took them with my phone.

Sure. I know what you mean about buying new books, but hopefully I won't be dissapointed with this one.

Re: Your last MJ purchase

My newest buy is the book 'On the Road with Michael', part II by Mark Bego.

Re: Your last MJ purchase

I've never seen this book. It is good/positive?

Ash, the book is on the way. I think it'll be mostly positive since it's from the Victory Tour days. It's part II to Mark Bego's book, On the Road with Michael shown below. What I'm getting - Part II - is a little rarer, I think :)
