"because she had a family, family" to me sounds like "because she GOT a family, family". Other then that I think they're perfect :)

I thought that too at first. But if u listen closely, it really sounds like he's emphasizing a "F" sound at the beginning of "phone."

Plus what makes me believe even more that it's "phone" is that the very next line is "she said just to give her a page," so I think that implies that since she doesn't have a phone at home (so her husband won't know about her affair), that all he needs to do is send her a page to get ahold of her.

We gotta remember that this was recorded in 1999, a few years before cell phones became the norm for everyone.

Think you might be right after all. That is, IF he actually sings "page"
 
Fixed "Escape" (most prominently "system rules" / "has to go away" / "that has no end"). However the booklet says "gotta face nobody but me", IMO in the alternate mix you can hear very clearly it is "gotta please nobody but me". Anyway, both have the same meaning.
 
Lol some lyrics in the booklet are lousy. In the introduction to xscape it says

"It's kind of a prophetic song, listen to the bridge. MJ says, when I go, this problem world won't bother me no more"

but in the lyrics section it says, "Where did I go, this problem world won't bother me"

When he actually sings "When I go this problem world won't bother me."

she's giving the number of her pager. (A pager is a telecommunications device for transmitting text messages; just think of celluar phones reduced simply to the SMS funtion only)

What's up with the "lickin' me" part in A Place With No Name? Must be a typo in the booklet surely, unless the female he encounters is a bitch? I'm pretty sure it's "liking me" or is it not??
