Maybe - Monday's meeting with Sony is for Timbaland to play them what he's worked on, they select the best tracks and then gather the other tracks and then start the ball rolling?

I think a statement like this is fairly pre mature.. if it were an album that was regular released mj material I'd be on the same page however it seems with the choice of producers they could ever well mix tge songs into new music that could be Grammy worthy nominations..

I am under the impression they are basi xxx ally making the mj music as new as possible and putting demos on the album to Dom extent tp pacify mj fans.. they want big sucess

Very possible. In any case, an announcement is coming soon.

I really hope they do it like the MICHAEL album - just drop it without warning.

Actually timbo wants producer of the year Grammy :D :D

I guess the track-list is already made, i mean they already choose STTR to be in an ad...I guess that meeting may to discuss some promotional plans, How many singles and what they are,etc....

I could be wrong of Course and they are yet to choose the track list....But that timbo posy was Yesterday so may be the meeting is already Done, Who knows :D

And i think the staff here on MJJC are preparing the Michael Prince interview to be Posted :D :D can't wait already :D

Rodney Jerkins did the same thing when he worked on Invincible and look how that all turned out. I think Timbaland should keep his mouth shut. Let the fans, radio and music industry listen to the album 1st and decide if it's good enough for Grammy's. Don't just tell this crap to us weeks/months before the album is released.

Good point ^ Jerkins I remember stated he was going to save Jackson's career when Invincible dropped but let's just hope Timbaland doesn't get carried away anymore than he already has.

Let's not bring Invincible here, we all know what happened there. No promotion, no singles, no videos, no live performances. But amazing album. Michael & Rodney should have won multiple grammys that year. But Grammys were ignoring MJ since 1985.

Well Invincible wasn't submitted by Sony for Grammy consideration, so we can't totally blame the Grammys this time. I believe only YRMW was submitted the previous year.

But I think they might have awarded him for YRMW since that year they fought with the AMAs to get MJ on the show. If you remember the Grammys filed a lawsuit against the AMAs for persuading MJ to appear on their show and not on the Grammys (he did appear on the AMAs eventually).

The deadline for albums to be considered for the Grammys is in late August/early September. That's why Sony rush released You Rock My World in late August 2001, so it could be a contender next year. And indeed, it was nominated for an award.

The album could have appeared at the 2003 Grammys, but because of the brouhaha between Michael and Mottolla, Sony didn't submit it to the Grammy board.

When celebs/artists appear on a certain network they sign contract not to appear on a competing network for a certain period of time. And the two shows were on different networks, but the dates of airing were close, so he had to pick one show.

The story was MJ agreed first to do the Grammys, but then Dick Clark invited him to the AMAs and I guess because they were old friends he chose to ditch the Grammys. The Grammys got mad and sued the AMAs.

If I'm not mistaken I think since that incident they made the distance between the two shows air dates bigger, so that artists could appear on both shows.

That's why I think if he appeared at the Grammys, there was a very big chance of YRMW winning, but alas it didn't happen.

And yes, YRMW was submitted for the 2002 show, but Invincible didn't make the deadline. Sony could have submitted it for the next year's show, but obviously after all that happened, they didn't.

I doubt it. He was present in 1988 and he got 0 Grammys! He even performed the best Grammy performance ever and they gave him nothing.

if the meeting today is regarding the decision for the final tracklisting then i believe the announcement should be coming in the next two weeks, it certainly won't be right after the meeting has concluded.. i can't wait to see the final tracklisting though, especially after seeing a photo of those 11 hard drives found by Michael Prince.. i'm looking forward to this release, and i will be at HMV at midnight to be the first in my region to purchase the record :D

Yea, but this time was different IMO. I doubt he would've went just to sit in the audience. They might have given him some sort of Lifetime award (like they did at the AMAs) or something, but I do believe some award was planned to get him to appear.

Oh well, he still got 13 Grammys which is not bad at all.

Indeed, some fans wanted more attention to the song, be happy now the song has it all (almost)! IMO it was a great idea to make general public to hear it, to pay attention and to make some curious. For me it is a hope that the promotion will be fine this time&#8230;

I hope you are right. - The world record for biggest poster "Michael" got was nearly the only promotion it got. - And that was not something the general public ever heard of - or cared about!!

This time around they need HUGE promotion!! - Radioplay, posters, commercials, TV ads etc. etc. - Do all they can to promote it!!

^ Lets not forget how social media plays a big part in marketing and promotion.. WE can do a lot of promoting!

* fan posters on facebook/twitter etc..
* messages about it on youtube
* Fan made trailers (youtube/facebook etc)

Outside of social mediea
* Promotional tshirts
* even flyers put in bookstores and local record stores

Anything...

a photo of 11 hard drives, ''so many hard drives spinning and humming, new tracks from mj soon will be coming'' someone asked in the comments section ''any hidden gems you discovered?'' and he answered ''yes...'' i'll try and get the pic but it's a very interesting subject

Yes that's what I remember I was just wondered what you meant saying by "11 hard drives found by MP" is all, because that was never stated. So I thought maybe you had a different source where that was stated some where.
