I think this way the public has the biggest chance of hearing the originals (who are included on the Deluxe). The new versions (esp. BG) has a chance of being played on radio (let's face it, radio won't touch the originals) and thus attracting fans to check out the original or buy the Deluxe. JMO

2010 Slave and DYKWYCA are the better versions for me. The demos sound incredibly dated but Xscape, blue gangsta and love never felt so good are all perfect originals. I can see why they were updated, really not feeling the originals of the new tracks. at least they didn't market it as the album MJ was planning before he died.

Fans wanted the demos as MJ left them. How could they possibly guess that you won't like the demos as much the leaked/updated versions? There's no way, so you can't blame the Estate or Sony for that. You didn't know it either until you heard the demos.

After a few listens, if you still don't feel the new versions, no biggie -you still have the demos to enjoy, so it's all good. At least you've given the contemporized songs a fair chance.



P.S. I love this album!!! Giving us the updated versions and demos in one package was the best decision the Estate has ever made!

I think the way this was marketed is spot on, and as you said the new versions may get new fans interested in getting more Michael or the deluxe. The next release of an album i think should hopefully getting hold of most of the last things he worked on possibly this release might persuade Will i am t release his and Red one. Anyway i hope they release more interesting stuff like concerts in HD , Bluray videos, Ghosts Bluray, maybe even go and continue with the classical album Michael was working on. Video game as in Xscape experience , or Singstar PS4 release of Xscape set.

I think the success this hopefully will create the possibilities are endless.

Michael is out there and that is all that matters and well done Estate and Sony as 25th June maybe a little less hard this year and we can celebrate the life and FUTUre of Michael continuing in 2014 and beyond.

I miss you Mikey but im sureyour smiling now.

IMO both the Slave demo and Do You Know demo are better than the 2010 versions. Slave 2010 is very generic. And 2010 Do You Know... is catchier at first but is actually stripped down compared to the demo which is musically more complex and more interesting - and has both the 2010 and the 2014 versions in it.

Yes, the instrumentation is very demo and dated but what do you expect from demos which were made decades ago? They cannot sound like they are finished, polished 2014-style tracks (and that's not necessarily a bad thing either).

Exactly, we got Michael's first recording of do you know where your children are from the bad recording sessions, i don't see why the estate would release a remix they rejected in 2010 to be honest. Plus the demo of slave to the rhythm is extremely raw. Fans really do confuse me sometimes.

Sorry but those versions don't belong on this Album - That was not the concept or theme. Fans wanted original versions, not versions completed or updated after his death. (They are not the originals) they were updated for the Michael Album and don't belong on the "original" demo versions of Xscape, Whether you like the updated version better or not, MJ didn't work on those leaked in 2010 - 2011. They are also not the tracks the updated versions were created from so they don't belong on Xscape

Why would they put those versions?? That was not the concept of the album. The concept was new version + originals (NOT 2010 versions = 2010 reproductions).

If they re-release MICHAEL album with the original versions and demos on CD2. They can replace fake songs on CD1 with 2010 reproductions of Do You Know, Blue Gangsta, Slave and She Was Loving Me (the version Damien heard with guitars). That would be awesome.

Are you talking about official German album chart (weakly chart)? How can MJ be on that chart when album was released yesterday? If the chart counts sales until saturday they should have waited and release it monday.

The new mix of the title track just keeps getting better and better, i didn't expect there to be any room for improvement... but i was gladly proven wrong, Darkchild worked magic.. it's fresh, creative, vibrant... everything the original version needed.

I absolutely love the new version of Xscape, but the thing that would make it just a little bit better in my book is if they had kept the snippet with the woman singing.

I think the producers had to cut their Remakes, thats why we are missing a few Outros and Intros... like in Chicago or Xscape

Now all songs fit on one Disc (74min)

Thats a very important negative point. (They may had to cut them to make space for the JT Bonustrack) :evil::D

I'm loving this idea. The mixes of real songs on Michael were really great IMO, they really did feel like MJ, even though he was gone.

But let's face it, they'll never admit those tracks were fake, it's an embarrassment of incredible proportions for them.

Don't mean to jump into this, but it amuses me that you argue for Michael's innovative fashion and then go listen to a weak demo of Slave to the Rhythm that is far from innovative. Odds are, when and if Michael released any of the songs on this album properly in his lifetime, they would not sound anything like the demos, especially Love Never Felt So Good, Loving You and Slave to the Rhythm. His music updated with the times and he was much more attuned to contemporary sound than anyone realizes. You can't be mad at producers for doing exactly what Michael always did: staying current.

Couple of tiny observations I noticed:

- In LNFSG (Remix without Justin), they changed the sentence before the chorus for some reason. It is "And the night is gonna be just fine" 3 times. In the demo and in the Justin version, it is:

"And the night is gonna be just fine"
"And the night through the thick and thin"
"And the night that is good"

Maybe it didn't fit their arrangement.

- In APWNN (Remix), the rhythm is very heavily influenced by "Leave Me Alone". Plus, starting in 1:03, you'll notice that the background violin is resembling the Billie Jean bass riff.

Exactly. "or even about finishing a specific blueprint, without the artist here, that is impossible." They did that with MICHAEL and all Teddy Riley produced songs sounded like something from Dangerous. This new album sounds like brand new album.

That's awesome to hear. I haven't heard ANYTHING yet so I am dying here for Tues. But it is nice to know that reviews by the fans are very positive. I will post my feelings when I get the album. Regardless I think you are right Michael IS smiling and dancing up there in heaven and proud of what is going on right now.

And let me say the estate hit a homerun with this project, and I hope it will continue. For fans that just like the demos it is there for them. And for fans that enjoy the new mixes there they are. It is for EVERYONE. :bow:

Yeah, its def starting to grow on me. If anything, Xscape should be the next single, assuming its from the new versions. One thing I thought could have been better with this track is if they took out some of the horn/saxophone sounds. I think they over used it.

Any difference in APWNN (original version) and 2008 leaked version. Is it just shorter edit of 2008 mix or completely different mix (maybe earlier 1998 Invincible mix?)?
