Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.
HFITS is not the track 8th, nobody talked about it in the analyzes.

Joe Vogel just recently confirmed that Chicago and SWLM are indeed the same song. I don't know what the critic reviews are suggesting but track 8 is still unknown. It better be unleaked though; don't waste an opportunity.
I don't see why everyone thinks it will be. Just because it's circulating? I honestly don't want it on the album because the second they announce it, the collectors will leak it. Let's keep the album a surprise. Have the eighth track be an older track. Buffalo Bill is just sitting around, as is Throwin' Your Life Away.
If it really is "Hot in the summertime" as the bonus track, this could be a good second single (for summer). However, they tend to release duets as first singles... so we'll see.
And as I understand it you can only get it on the deluxe. So as a single, it would be good promo to buy the deluxe, at the same time exposure for the originals.
I don't buy that. Chicago has it's origins in the 80ies, She was loving me was brought to MJ by Rooney in the 90ies.
What about Ekam Satyam (the one truth), must be something anthem-like. A track like this would make the album "whole".
If She Was Lovin Me and Chicago are the same songs, then Hot Fun In Summertime is not a "bonus song", but simply among the 8 tracks + the demo of it like a demo of all the others.
TBH ciculating? I dont know, has anyone heard anything other than a couple tiny snippets? I mean wasn't all anyone got snippets?
It could be the demo of Hot FunI think we can cut the "if". Chicago = She Was Lovin' Me
I just spent time on Joe Vogels twitter timeline. And he is stat fast & completely sure about what he is talking about. It must be a great song, he listened to it twice & couldn't get it out of his head for 2 days.
It seems the song is called 'Chicago (She was lovin' me)'.
I also believe you are right about "Hot Fun..." being one of the 8 tracks.
But what could this 17th deluxe song be then?
It just doesn't make sense to me that Chicago and She Was Lovin Me are the same song.
Hot Fun is not one of the main songs. As it's already been stated, reviews would have mentioned it by now. There are a number of reviews that mention specific song titles. and even so, wouldn't at least one review have mentioned that there was a cover?

how do you know its finished or almost finished
This Daily Mirror review mentioned all 8 songs and interestingly, it listed Chicago and She Was Lovin' Me as two separate tracks. However, it has since been edited to remove them all apart from Slave To The Rhythm. My guess is they were asked to remove them by Epic/Sony. Except for Slave as it is already known from the Experia advert.

Confused about the whole Chicago thing though. If She Was Lovin' Me has been renamed Chicago then why do some reviews refer to another song called Chicago as well?
I think the first single should be the best track on the album. Not something promised to Paul Anka, not slow song and not a duet.
My wish: Slave To The Rhythm or DYKWYCA.
First single should be an up-tempo song. My wishes are APWNN, STTR, DYKWYCA, BG or X !
BUT - I really do hope that all these songs will be released as singles!! - I would say MINIMUM 5 singles from Xscape should be released!! - And the perfect scenario would be all 8 songs get a single release!! - That would be great!!
But first single should really be a great song - a big hit would really get attention to the coming album!!
It could be the demo of Hot Fun
Today's audiences seem to have the attention span of a goldfish so I think a catchy and upbeat song is needed as the 1st single to catch people's attention
