I find it pretty odd actually that it’s doing better on Pop than Urban AC now. You’d think its strongest formats would be AC and especially Urban AC. But maybe it’s decreasing on Urban AC because it increased there faster in the beginning and it’s now peaking sooner there than on Pop? Or do people request it on Pop only?

After repeat listenings to the album, I think they should release STTR as the next single. I think the song could do well in all formats with a few tweaks here and there for the radio edits. Many people have already been exposed to the song thanks to the Billboard performance so it seems like a natural next step. However, they will still need to promote the heck out of it in order to get airplay. Honestly, I am so dissappointed with most of the stuff that is played on mainstream radio these days. It's the same 25-30 songs over and over. Even when they play something "different", it is usually a song that was popular not so long ago such as one of Rhianna's or Kat Perry's hits. The programming directors and DJ's lack creativity. They simply follow the crowd and will not give songs like LNFSG proper time to catch on with their audience. Believe it or not, there are still many people in the US who have not heard the full song from start to finish. They just might like it if they were given the chance. Even when they get around to playing a Michael Jackson song it is almost always one if his classics from the 80's/90's. Very frustrating. Aside from STTR, they might also try releasing Chicago to urban radio. I think it could do well there

To be honest I don't even listen to radio any more. The last time I was a regular radio listener was in the 90s. Back then DJs still had a free hand in what they played and it was more diverse, now it's all about the selector. And they wonder how and why the music industry got into this sad state...

I might have to do the same. The station I am listening to now just played a techno flavour of the month hit followed by, you guessed it, Rihanna's 'Rude Boy'. WTF. I like Rihanna but do they have to play her music 20 times a day along with Katy and Bruno?

Urban radio is prime for Chicago/LY/BG/Xscape. Very similar to how Butterflies rated higher on R/B compared to Pop.

@Serendipity
I don't know how to read those radio numbers that you posted, I kind of stare them blank look in my eyes:blush:
Is it possible that if and when you post your numbers, is it possible you could tell us which radio stations to concentrate request of LNFSG. I mean requesting here: http://rihannadaily.com/www/request/
There is no point requesting LNFSG if it is already doing well in certain radio stations, we need to concentrate to do stations that it is not doing well.

thank you, I needed this. this is wonderful news.

No problem at all. Always look at the bright side:D

Thats a good news :clapping:
I don't understand charts? We have posts that tells LNFSG radio play is declining, yet there are posts that tells me that it is greatest gainer

Even if it's doing well, if people stop requesting it, they might stop playing it. So better play safe and request it to all stations, whether they play it or not.

Thats true, we'll keep requesting and working on those links:D

Yea, I also thought Urban would support it the most. But you may be right, the song has probably peaked and will be gradually losing airplay, who knows.... we'll see. I think it still has some life left on radio, so they shouldn't be rushing with the next single just yet.

I agree. All formats are important for a song's success, so keep requesting it like before.

Xscape does good in the charts still.

Hope it will continue thru the summer. - And hope a new single is released with a video before the christmas sale so the album can rise again for the important christmas sale!

Hope for huge promotion in november with a new video and single! :)

Hitsdailydouble is updating this week's chart, it's now 69% and Xscape is 3rd place with 23K copies. I'm a bit disapointed but ok :timer:

Just wait for the final numbers, these updates don't really mean anything until it's final.

Final numbers are in from Hits Daily Double. Michael finished in third place with 67K. Not as much as I was hoping for but still not bad in today's market. The Keys finished 5th with 55K. Hoping that Michael will sell at least 50K next week. Final numbers for this week will be released by Billboard tomorrow. BTW, I paid +16 dollars for my deluxe edition of the album at Walmart. As a normal album is about 9 dollars, they should really count the deluxe as two albums in terms of the sales

I don't see a reason for disappointment. Or I don't know what some of you expected on today's market from a posthumus album.

yes that is not bad at all. Usually a 70% drop is considered normal, so MJ only dropping 58% is pretty good!

I guess they count the physical release last, and that's why Xscape jumped in around 45K copies. That's a lot.

I was just a bit disapointed because a) the numbers on 69% were low but now I think it's ok. b) I thought Coldplay is our "problem" this week so I was surprised to see Xscape 3rd place

:) it's still great though and it the rest of the main music market it's still doing good, Australia and Japan increased the sales the 2nd week and UK is very good as well

Before anyone says how disappointed they are, just remember this, MJ is not here to promote this album hence helping to boost sales. For a posthumous album, I think its doing well given the state of music sales these days.

Promotion wise I think The Estate has done a great job thus far and I'm so happy to read that they are not done yet. On the other hand, I think we as fans can step in for Michael and do all we can to promote this album in our own ways.

Keep the faith, this is a good album and hopefully as word spreads of the quality songs to be heard, the effect will be more sales. Longevity is what I want for this album.

I am very happy with how things have been going. This has been the best promotion in a long time. It feels like people all over the world know there is a Michael Jackson album. My friends who are not that big of fans know this time. The best thing is that the evil people like Diane Demon and others trying to get in the way of all the positive and happy moments with their crap and they got ignored. I didn't let them ruin my joy and I think others did the same thing.

It's hard sometimes to really enjoy things because I miss Michael and wish he was here. But I support him and hope that more and more people appreciate him and see what we do. Looking at the charts just seeing his name with all the "top stars" today is a big success to me. To me this has been a #1 album for Michael and I am happy for him.
