Naw that's a digital video camera recorder.

But some of todays regular digital cameras have advanced recording features, believe it or not, this is taken with a regular digital camera:

And this is the camera the footage was shoot with, kind of impressive! :)
What's also impressive is the sound quality, which often it's gets "distorted" in concerts.

the sequrity at the o2 told me at most concerts the small digital ones are allowed so I'm bringing one.
there's no stress about it either, they took my RECORDING camera last year but kept my name,phone number, address..everything and I collected it after the concert. My small digital camera I was allowed in

I was told by O2 today that I won't be allowed to bring this camera to the concerts:

Although they did say that the promoters/organisers might want/allow different conditions in terms of what types of camera can be brought in.

Small cameras are generally allowed, what is silly about that rule tho is although mine is a small compact it records videos in HD and has a 12x optical zoom but still fits in your pocket.

SLR's and digital camcorders won't be allowed.

the rule is if its got a detachable lense then u cant take it in. normal digitals are fine unless they decide to very strict with it being mj and ban cameras altogether. but the general rules no detachable lenses ie slr

The thing that I don't like with fans bringing cameras (which I guess I will do myself.. who's bad?) is that - it will be HARD to stay away from the videos on youtube (cause there will be something out there.. from the concert! right?). :p And I want everything to be a surprise!

that sucks!! I have a professional camera, but I dont have a flash light and big lens like professional photographers do....still I wont be able to take it with me?
my dad's compact cam sucks big time...I think I'll have to buy a new compact one once in London, a good one. Cause I cant leave this concert without decent pictures! (or my camera! lol)

I just got a Sony H20, it's about the same price as a regular compact with 7 or 8X zoom except it's got a 10X and a ton of other great features. Plus you can zoom while you're filming, which you can't do with most other ones.
It actually looks bigger in pics than it really is.

Also, I wrote an email to O2 and this is the response I got:

Dear Sorina

Thank you for your email.

You are allowed to bring a small digital camera no SLR cameras will be permitted; binoculars are ok to bring in to the arena. If you bring bottles of water, the lid will be removed on entry to the arena due to health & safety reasons.
